Brielle and Kyrie Jackson, “The Rescuing Hug”. When preemie twins Brielle and Kyrie were born, one baby was struggling to live until a hospital nurse fought to put them in the same incubator. The stronger baby wrapped her arm around her sister, and her touch allowed the struggling baby’s heart to stabilize and her temperature to return to normal.
In the video below, Gregg Braden tells the heartwarming, true story of twins Brielle and Kyrie Jackson, who were born on October 17, 1995, twelve weeks before their due date. After spending six months together in their mother’s womb, the twins were immediately separated after their birth because the standard hospital practice in 1995 was to place preemie twins in separate incubators to reduce the risk of infection. Listen to Braden tell the rest of the story:
Braden’s purpose for telling the story was to elicit an emotional response. Braden went on to discuss the power of emotions that come from the heart instead of the mind. According to Braden, heart-based emotions are the language of the Divine Matrix and have a “direct effect on the stuff that our world is made of – on the atoms and the molecules of our physical world.”
Our emotions provide the rocket fuel for our intentions and enable us to “transcend the laws of physics and biology as we know them today.” In order to manifest our intentions, we must feel the feeling as if the intention has already happened.
Braden concluded: “The power to create, to heal, to love, to create peace in our world, peace in your family, to have the love and nurturing that you desire – that power is already in your heart. “
Note that articles about the “Rescuing Hug” appeared in both Reader’s Digest and Life Magazine in 1996. You can read those articles on Planet Deb, which is where I the found the information on their names and birth date.
And, here’s an update that talks about how the famous hug changed medicine and includes interviews with the twin sisters, Brielle and Kyrie, when they were juniors in high-school:
