Michigan Develops a Pay it Forward System for Students

Posted by on March 25, 2014 in Economy with 1 Comment

Michigan is developing a pay it forward system for its students with the intention of allowing students to attend college for free, and then pay for younger students once they start making money down the road. The program would essentially allow students to reap the benefits of college before they pay for it and not the other way around. Lissette Padilla and Elliot Hill discuss how Michigan’s program could change college tuition forever, in this clip from the Lip News.

Nice try…but I want to know why our education costs so much in the first place. I mean get real…talk to those in higher education. IT IS BROKEN! Sure there are SOME great teachers. But many are on ‘educational welfare’. Meaning once they get tenure…they hardly teach, loose their dynamic edge. So I want to take a fraction of our Military budget and fund education (for free). Sure this idea is a step to find a better way, but it falls short of actually looking at WHY it costs so much. And is the way we learn and get degrees the best way? OPEN SOURCE EDUCATION NOW!!! Scrap diplomas…Free Your Mind. This is a broad brushstroke comment…sure. But I want to actually go in the direction of looking at the whole system, not just throw a few curves and think it’s better.
