New Year, New You: How to Turn Those Resolutions into Tangible Goals

If you’re anything like most of us, some of the resolutions on your list this year might look familiar. As in they were on last year’s list and perhaps even the year before. What it is about this time of year that gets everyone amped up and then almost set up to fail regarding New Year’s resolutions?

For starter’s I think that the answer lies in that question. It’s because of the mere expectation that everyone else is setting goals and hopes to change this or that in their lives that we must also do that this time of year as well. But some of us are building lives where we want to carry that mindset all year long. Meaning, we want have self-care on the fore-front of our priority list at all times because we have tuned into the disharmony that can occur in all other areas of your life when you deny taking care of yourself.

While it can be motivation-ally positive to ride the wave of enthusiasm that is definitely present this time of year, we can never succeed at something unless one key factor is in place. Our desire, our WHY, must be well-defined and deep-rooted in our hearts. There has to be such an emotional, almost spiritually-driven intention to change something that is not best serving you; simply because you know you deserve better from yourself.

If that is present, you will ALWAYS find a path to success. If not, then we can already know that unless that heart connection to ourselves is made, the “start” will not only elude us and make us feel guilty through taunt and mental torture, but once we do begin, we will immediately find reasons to quit. That is if you listen to that old voice of Ego that always presents itself as having your best interest in mind, but in actuality it is simply fighting for you NOT to change; to keep you in your comfort zone.

You have to listen to a much more elusive, quieter, deeper voice within. This voice is your intuition, your Spirit and will tell you all you could ever want or need to know. When you make this connection, you will discover the missing ingredient to turning a task-filled life into one with tangible goals; a life where you stop procrastinating and distracting yourself. And then, when you are ready…you take another step higher and your life transforms yet again; from one of simply achieving goals to one over-flowing with purpose.

PURPOSE is the key ingredient that comes from connecting to and listening to your intuition. You begin to do all of the things that make your heart and soul sing and your life is flooded with joy and abundance. And all it really took was a simple shift…a pivot a few degrees north to get you to see yourself in a new light…a light that shows you the magnificence of who you truly are. Once you know, you can never, EVER lose that power unless you willingly give it away. Thus, you begin to channel that power into creative outlets that drive you to make positive changes in as many places and people as you possibly can; regarding causes that really matter to you.

Your capacity to receive has opened wide and now your capacity to give is just as large. Welcome to the cycle of manifesting abundance and joy in your life. This is living a life of PURPOSE. A purposeful life does of course still include goals and tasks, but these are all parts of the process, the cogs in the wheel. Rather than tasks being the menial distraction they once were to subconsciously knock yourself off-track, the daily tasks you do now for yourself are always constructive and building on the foundation you’ve set for your personal and business life.

Your goals become expansive, not just “dreamy” and “out there” type stuff that you unknowingly always kept just out of reach from yourself. Goals now are set in rational, reasonable ways that make sense for your ever-growing life and business. We now are in resonance with our goals and therefore are always achieving success in what we set out for ourselves.

When we can fully embrace what it feels like in all senses to be the person who has already achieved the goals we set out for ourselves, this is setting the frequencies to match up and pull the experience to you. Think “fake it until you make it”. There’s something in that when we own the energy of our desires; we ultimately do become them.

To review, there must be 3 main things in place for you to finally take these things off your New Year’s Resolution list!

  1. You MUST have a strong “why”! If you do not have an emotional connection to your goal, then your heart simply will not be in it. You have to find PURPOSE in your life and your goals.
  2. You MUST set goals that are reasonable and expansive to your current life. If you are currently making $40,000 and you set a goal to make $7,000,000,000.000 this year, while not impossible, why not start with $100,000.00? Both our hearts and our minds must be able to BELIEVE in our dreams. Otherwise, we subconsciously keep them away from ourselves so we can just keep “daydreaming” about them…”Maybe someday I’ll be rich!” This is not to say to dream “small”, but to dream what your heart AND mind can and will believe! 🙂
  3. We must be willing to imagine what it would be like to have already succeeded and embody who we would be. How would we act differently? We need to connect with the energy of THAT version of ourselves and start bringing that feeling to our daily life NOW; today.

My new years resolution is to eat healthy and I am going to stick to it no matter what. I actually just recently started using this recipe book that I found on the internet, its all about eating healthy for cheap and still being able to make food that tastes good. Some of the recipes are actually really freaking good and they are still healthy plus I have lost a few pounds :). I would recommend if you are trying to eat healthy or want to start that you read this
