GAME CHANGE? Massachussetts Explores Cold Fusion Plant

The paradigm may be shifting to a new energy source

In a possible paradigm shift the cold fusion reactor inventor, Andrea Rossi, met a with a Mass. senator and scientists about building cold fusion power plants.

Though skeptics persist, Rossi met with Republican state senator Bruce Tarr who said in an MSNBC article, “If it works, I want this technology to be developed and manufactured in Massachusetts,” Tarr told The Boston Globe.

Rossi’s E-Cat or energy catalyzer is a low energy nuclear reactor.  Using small amounts of energy input into the system it causes hydrogen and nickel to fuse together which creates heat in the reaction.  The heat generated is 10 times the amount of input energy and can be used to create boiling water and the resulting steam is utilized to produce electricity.

The sun creates nuclear fusion but at extremely high temperatures and there is no dangerous nuclear waste as with nulear fission like in Fukushima, Three Mile Island, Hanford and other nuclear reactors.

The mainstream scientific community has voiced some skepticism but also some support as well.  It may not matter to Rossi who has sold 13 E-Cats since doing a demonstration in October.

Rossi will be back to Massachusetts and anticipates things to move quickly and smoothly and said, “We are all hoping to get something started in a matter of weeks, not months.”
