Most people who love traveling can relate to the fact that the coronavirus messed up a lot of travel plans this year. Whatever trips you were planning in 2020, chances are that they had to be canceled due to the COVID19 outbreak that started in Wuhan and led to a pandemic around the world. Borders were closed and international travel was banned for a while in a bid to get the novel coronavirus under control. But thankfully, some travel destinations have now reopened and travelers have high hopes for the coming months and years. If you’re already considering where to go once the world starts to get back to normal, here are some of the most desirable travel destinations for the post-COVID world.

The UK:

The UK is home to several amazing tourist destinations and has something for everybody whether you want to head to a big city like London or bask in the gorgeous countryside in the Scottish Highlands. During a trip to Scotland, you can easily switch between bustling cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow before heading north to picturesque destinations like the Isle of Skye, all reachable by bus or train from England or Wales.

From the UK you can get a ferry across to Ireland where you can find a wide range of fun Ireland tours to take part in. Dublin is a favorite city among travelers with vibrant bars, restaurants, and clubs along with several shopping opportunities too making it perfect for a short city break for those who aren’t quite ready to spend a lot of time in a new destination.

Spain has always been one of the top vacation destinations around the world and things are not set to change after COVID19. With amazing cities like Barcelona, Seville, and Granada along with stunning beachy islands like Majorca, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and Ibiza, Spain certainly offers something for everybody no matter what kind of travel suits you best. Soak up the sights and architecture in one of the major Spanish cities or head to the islands for excellent nightlife and some of the best beaches in Europe.

Italy was one of the most hard-hit countries around the world by the coronavirus but so far, they are managing to recover well. While the high infection rate here might put some people off visiting for a while, it’s bound to be a popular destination once COVID19 is completely under control with many travelers willing to visit and help Italy get their economy back on track. And with so many stunning destinations like Rome, Venice, Florence, Sicily, and Milan to consider, Italy is the perfect choice for an amazing city break with gorgeous sights and some of the best food and wine in the world.

Earning recognition as some of the best countries for handling the virus, those who want extra peace of mind will enjoy visiting Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. And rated as some of the happiest and safest countries in the world, there is plenty to see and do especially for those who want a winter break. Norway is a great destination in particular where you can often see the stunning Northern Lights from October to April.
