Can you remember what phone you had ten or fifteen years ago? A lot of people had a Nokia 3310 and the highlight of the simplistic black and white screened device was playing the game snake; this is about as exciting as it got back then. However, now with all the advanced mobile technology available, it is virtually impossible to keep up with all the features your phone entails. Nevertheless, we are going to try and depict some of the main technological progresses in this article.

Advanced mobile technology has seen the most basic mobile phones that could only store ten contacts and hold five text messages turn into the dominate smartphones we see captivating the industry today, with wireless internet and video calling features amongst many other mind-blowing attributes. In fact, businesses have needed to turn to outsourced IT support to manage all of these devices!

Most mobile phones nowadays have a camera and video feature. You can take photos, send them to other people, upload them onto the internet, and set photos next to each person on your contact list. You can do all the previous with the video recorder as well as having a video conversation with another person, whether it be through the phone itself or another device such as Skype.

Advanced mobile technology has also provided us with many music features on our phone. There is now no longer the need for an individual to have an MP4 player or any other similar device, as most smartphones have this feature built-in. Most mobile phones can hold masses of songs and music videos and have online stores or applications available on the device where you can purchase songs. With another feature known as airplane mode switched on, smartphones can now be used on the plane without causing any interference. All phones also include access to various radio stations, both local and national.

In this day and age, there is no need to spend time typing on your phone’s keypad as you can simply talk to your phone via voice-driven menus that are present in a lot of recent models. This saves time and keeps your hands free when you are driving. You can simply say a person’s name to call them or instruct your phone what to type in a text message.

With email messages now available on phones, constant communication is always available and this makes work and other various commitments easier to maintain. Attachment viewing, compatible with the likes of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, makes observing and editing documents a lot easier especially whilst on the move. These sorts of advanced mobile technology make job responsibilities a lot easier. Internet is widely available on phones and can be accessed through wi-fi or your mobile network, many people access social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

These are not the only great improvements in the world of mobile phones today. One of many consumers favorite features is the GPS service. GPS standing for Global Positioning System. Essentially GPS is a satellite-based technology which allows you to obtain directions from one place to another, as well as determine your own location or the location of others. Some of the smartphones on the market also work as a Sat Navigation system and direct you to your destination via a map coinciding with a computerized voice which tells you where to go in detail.

Believe it or not, these are just a few of the more simple advances in phone technology today. A lot of phones, such as the iPhone or the Samsung, have a lot more complicated features and impressive applications. There is no longer the need for a camera, gaming device, MP4 player, or computer, as most smartphones have all this in one.

Technology is applied to the world of science

Not only have we seen advancements in terms of consumer technology, but the blend of science and technology as well. Biotechnology, also known as biotech, is the study of applied biology. It entails the utilization of organisms and bioprocesses in medicine, technology, and other fields. The notion compromises a mass range of procedures. These procedures alter living organisms according to human intentions.

The process of this research and examinations comes under the study of advanced cell research. The research has stepped up a gear over the past few years and could end up being an extremely important part of the world we live in today. The studies being undertaken are progressing at such a pace that it is impossible to ignore it and it is great to acknowledge that technological advances are being used to such a great cause. In fact, research into stem cells and aspects of biotechnology are just one of the many ways in which scientists and researchers have attempted to apply their knowledge and studies to helping those that suffer from common and widespread diseases and illnesses.

Advanced Cell Technology was founded in 1994, roughly seventeen years ago, and they have been applying innovative methods of research ever since. At present they are applying their research into advancing and extending technologies based on human embryonic stem cells and adult embryonic stem cells in the hope of combating retinal issues and diseases.

For many of us outside the medical and scientific field, it is often hard to grasp the concept of such terms as embryonic stem cells and retinal diseases so it is important to paint a clear picture. First of all retinal illnesses and diseases are suffered from all over the world in a variety of different ways. Some diseases are widespread and easy to diagnose and treat whereas others prove to be a lot more tricky to find and cure and thus require a more complicated treatment program. So what actually is a retinal disease? These diseases impact the retina, which is the layer of tissue at the back of our eyes which is central and essential to our vision. If someone has a retinal disease and it is left unattended and untreated then they will more than likely end up with a severe loss of vision and possibly end up being totally blind.

Most people who have the unfortunate illness of being blind rarely believe they will ever see again. Therefore it is remarkable to think that via the use of stem cells these people have hope and the possibility for vision in the future. The Advanced Cell Technology provide outlets of optimism for those who previously may have had none and thus it is great news that they have been given the go-ahead to put their optimism into practice and hopefully provide cures for those that suffer from the inability to see. It is evidently a great thing that the company are using stem cells to try and help those with retinal issues, but what makes stem cells so different from other cells?

In our bodies, we have many organs and tissues and each of these are made up with different kinds of cells, these cells cannot be moved from one organ or tissue to another organ or tissue because a specific type of cell makes up each of these. Nevertheless, stem cells are special because they are so distinctive, they are different from the other cells because they can renew themselves and they can also develop into differentiated functioning cells.

This is just one way that we have seen the world of technology and science merge. We all know about Elon Musk’s creation of a microchip for the brain! It truly is mind-blowing.
