If you are willing to increase your PCC, then negative keywords are a great tool. Basically, negative keywords assist the search engine to not show your website or company as the result of a particular search. When you do not want the irrelevant people visiting your website, then you use some negative keywords. They will filter the results that a search engine displays. In case you do not want to attract the audience who are looking for something related to your company, then it can be used as a negative keyword to prevent the same. As a result, these negative keywords will increase your PCC.

How Do I Find Them?

If you are looking for accurate negative keywords, then you can visit an adwords agency. They are a team of experts who will help you in achieving the best outcomes. One can also use their basic knowledge about the market to look for some effective negative keywords. One may also refer to the recent searches that have brought the viewers to your website. You can get those keywords from the searches that are irrelevant to your product. Therefore, run an analysis to get some negative keywords and filter the viewers of your page.

Are there any types of negative keywords?

Yes! There are three types of negative keywords. Let us discuss each one of them.

  1. Standard Negative Keywords:

The entire procedure of adding the standard negative keywords remains the same except that you put a minus sign in from of that keyword. What this symbol will do is it will filter your page from the searches that include the words like ‘free’ and ‘sample’. If you do not provide such sample services, then your page will not be useful for the viewers. Therefore, restricting such viewers from your page will increase PPC.

  1. Negative Phrase-Matched Keywords:

This can be done by putting your negative keyword between the quotation marks. Your page will not be reflected in the search engine results that include those terms. When you have analyzed the search results that bring people to your page and wish to eliminate those terms, then this type can be preferred. In various campaigns, this type of negative keyword has shown an increase in PCC. Therefore, you can add quotation marks to that term to eliminate the viewers looking for the same.

  1. Exact-Matched Keywords:

The basic format of this type of keyword is ‘-[keyword]’. In this case, whatsoever terms you have mentioned in the brackets will be eliminated by the search engine results. For instance, your keyword is ‘free trial’, then you put this in the above-stated format. When a user searches for that exact same term, your page will not be shown in the results. But in this type of negative keywords, the search engine will only eliminate the exact mentioned term and not the other related ones.

Thus, study the keywords and use any of these three negative keywords that suit you the best. They will contribute to various campaigns and increasing your PPC.
