It had always perplexed me that while we learned about the layers of the Earth and the consistency of sediment, rock, and minerals in Geology class, we never once learned about a particular creation of Nature known as the Quartz crystal. Or furthermore, the incredible healing properties it contains or that crystals are capable of being “programmed” and can store information for thousands of years.
Now, one would think in this day and age with our current electronics being dependent on crystals, that it might come up more often in our education system. However, the first time I really learned about what crystals really are and what they can do, wasn’t until I landed in a Reiki I class at Wright College in Chicago, IL back in 1999.
At first, I truly thought each type of crystal should strictly be used for healing certain ailments, but what I’ve come to learn from using crystals in my healing sessions for 20 years now is that just about any type of quartz crystal can contribute to healing, if one knows how to properly “clean”, “program” and open to what could be considered the core processor of the crystal. By this I mean, we mustn't attempt to control the crystal’s power, but rather learn to harness a connection to the gate of information contained within and allow it to flow unharnessed.
With everything in existence being energy, it would benefit us well to understand how being energy gives us much more power over our lives than our ingrained beliefs of limitations, failures, and restrictions. Crystals serve to remind us that true power is always contained within and when we can remain in a constant balance of giving and receiving, we perform at optimum levels.
Crystals are neither a solid or a liquid, but rather a flux of silica and oxygen which keeps them in a fluid state of internal motion and flow while preserving the energy of information that it has received from its surroundings, either by natural means, or by intentional programming through human thought and intention, such as I or any other energy healer working with crystals would do. 
Personally, I leave my crystals “open” or “empty” with just their own resonant, signature frequency. Think of it as an energetic chalkboard just ready to have you write the best physics equation that is your life and intentions. And if used properly, crystals can aid us in all sorts of healing ways, not simply physiological, but also psychologically, emotionally and of course spiritually.
When I work with a client in person as opposed to distance healing over the internet, phone or intentional waves of thought, I always let them choose a crystal and THEN I will program it to aid in the healing we’ve done in that particular day’s session. This helps to keep the healing going for my clients, long after their session with me has ended and because the client chose that particular crystal themselves, they've identified a personal energetic connection, and rather than force it to bend at my will, I use it as the foundation I build upon with the utmost respect for a person's personal path.
We don’t often think about how much crystals effect our daily lives, and whether or not you believe in their ability to transfer, hold and emit programmable and intentional energy, you have to acknowledge the fact that you wouldn’t even be reading this article if it wasn’t for crystals. It is due to their integration into microchips and LCD screens that we are graced with the technology of computers and cell phones that can remember their functions, your contacts, and that funny picture of your cat whether you have it turned on or leave it off for a week. Because of crystals and their ability to store information for tremendous periods of time, suspending literal thoughts in time, we now have the ability to appreciate the now, and how crystal technology has been around in all of humanity's past, and will ultimately be what launches us into the future.
