Everybody knows a little bit about skincare. For example, you know to take a bath at least once a day and to avoid overexposure to the sun. If you’re very passionate about the health of your skin, you may even get organic soaps and products. But, in this article, we will be sharing some unpopular but very effective skincare tips.

Change your pillowcase every night

This may sound like a lot of work, but replacing your pillowcase as often as possible is one of the best ways to prevent acne. No matter how stressful your day is, you can always count on the comfort of your pillow at night. Unfortunately, this also means that you can transfer all the dirt and oil from your skin onto the pillowcase.

If you repeatedly use the pillowcase without washing, all that oil finds its way back to your skin, and that can cause a breakout of acne. This tip has less to do with the kind of material your pillowcase is made of and more to do with how often you launder it. The same thing goes for your bedsheets. Understandably, no-one is inclined to do laundry every other day. In this case, you can replace your pillowcase with a T-shirt.

Use magnesium bath salts

When you first hear of bath salts, you might be tempted to think that they are another product to help you get cleaner. However, that is really not the case. Bath salts are amazing products that can improve your skin’s health. They contain magnesium chloride, which is very effective for addressing conditions like rashes, eczema, psoriasis, acne, and other problems.

For individuals who already have healthy skin, magnesium chloride can also help provide relief from muscle aches, stress relief, and increased blood circulation. You have two options of you want to add magnesium chloride to your routine. You can either get some bath salts and hope they contain the active ingredient or go directly for magnesium chloride flakes.

Moisturize twice a day

If you pay any attention to your skincare routine, then the chances are that you’re already moisturizing in the morning. Applying moisturizer in the morning ensures that your skin has adequate protection throughout the day. This will keep the skin looking better and feeling softer.

However, most people don’t think to apply moisturizers at night, mainly because they are going to be asleep. However, your skin needs good moisture, regardless of what you spend your time doing. You may not need to apply as much because you won’t be exposed to the sun and other elements. But, applying moisturize twice a day is still good for your skin.

Don’t towel dry your face

This is probably the most surprising tip on this list. After your shower in the mornings, your attention is probably more towards applying your skincare products than it is towards drying your body. But, if you pay attention, this tip can be just as useful as many of the other products on your skincare routine.

Leaving your face to dry off will give it extra exposure to moisture, which is always good – you can never have too much moisture. Additionally, toweling your face can trigger some skin reactions, especially if you have very sensitive skin. You can get excess bacteria and lint fuzzies on your face, which defeats the whole purpose of the bath.
