Is CBD the New “It” Cannabinoid?

Posted by on January 24, 2019 in News Flash with 0 Comments

For the longest time in the realm of marijuana, THC reigned king, and people only wanted to know how much THC is when it came to gauging how strong and worthwhile of a product it was. Time has passed, and a lot of states, and even Canada, has legalized marijuana, all while tons of relevant research has gone into the constituents of the cannabis plant. It's now known that the effects of marijuana aren't solely dependent on THC, but about a hundred other cannabinoids present that all have some, if minor, impact on the experience.

One of these cannabinoids that have been turning heads in the medical and recreational fields for a few years now is none other than cannabidiol, or CBD for short. Currently, there are dozens of products containing only CBD, and many dispensaries now state the CBD, as well as the THC content of their wares. Why is CBD proving to be such a popular compound, even on its own?

Well, there's a lot to it, actually:

CBD has many medical benefits.

Imagine you're the parent of a young child with epilepsy that has nearly a hundred seizures every day. Now, imagine a medicine came along that had almost no side effects and could reduce the number of seizures your child has to experience a day down to less than five, or even zero, in some cases. That's the power of CBD. It interacts powerfully with our endocannabinoid system that regulates things like hunger, fatigue, and mood. For whatever reason, just a few drops of CBD tincture can stop a seizure in progress, as well as help prevent the resurgence.

CBD is non-psychoactive.

While many people choose to settle with medical marijuana, not everybody wants to get stoned just to treat their various illnesses. CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning there's no “high” to speak of. CBD can be used to address many of the same ailments that medical marijuana does, which include, but aren't limited to anxiety, back pain, insomnia, and even nausea. This laundry list of medical issues it can treat is why people are flocking to firms that offer CBD Isolate Wholesale, so they can then process it into medicine easily taken by the masses.

Ease of dosing

Not everybody wants to have to smoke, eat, or vaporize marijuana to get the benefits, and products that contain full spectrum marijuana cannabinoids can be prohibitively expensive. Compare this to CBD where you can get edibles, tinctures, topical creams, or even small vaporizers for a relatively low price. Depending on your illness, you can select a method of dosing that best fits you. Creams work best for localized pain or soreness, while the other options are better for whole-body approaches.

Conclusion

The above reasons are just the tip of the iceberg as to why CBD is exploding in popularity. Since there's no “high” to speak of, many can drop the stoner association that comes with marijuana and focus on the benefits of CBD. Safe to say, it's hard to see a video where small children have their debilitating illnesses treated safely with CBD drops, and then suggest that we put a stop to it.
