Five Ways Mindfulness Meditation Is Good for Your Health

Research suggests that mindfulness benefits our bodies, not just our minds.

By Jill Suttie | Greater Good Magazine

According to thousands of years of tradition, Buddhists meditate to understand themselves and their connections to all beings. By doing so, they hope to be released from suffering and ultimately gain enlightenment.

In recent decades, researchers have been gaining insight into the benefits of practicing this ancient tradition. By studying more secular versions of mindfulness meditation, they’ve found that learning to pay attention to our current experiences and accept them without judgment might indeed help us to be happier. Studies to date suggest that mindfulness affects many aspects of our psychological well-being—improving our moodincreasing positive emotions, and decreasing our anxietyemotional reactivity, and job burnout.

But does mindfulness affect our bodies as well as our minds?

Recently, researchers have been exploring this question—with some surprising results. While much of the early research on mindfulness relied on pilot studies with biased measures or limited groups of participants, more recent studies have been using less-biased physiological markers and randomly controlled experiments to get at the answer. Taken together, the studies suggest that mindfulness may impact our hearts, brains, immune systems, and more.

Though nothing suggests mindfulness is a standalone treatment for disease nor the most important ingredient for a healthy life, here are some of the ways that it appears to benefit us physically.

Mindfulness is good for our hearts

Heart disease is the leading killer in the United States, accounting for about 1 in 4 deaths every year. So, whatever decreases the risks or symptoms of heart disease would significantly impact society’s health. Mindfulness may help with that.

In one study, people with pre-hypertension were randomly assigned to augment their drug treatment with either a course in mindfulness meditation or a program that taught progressive muscle relaxation. Those who learned mindfulness had significantly greater reductions in their systolic and diastolic blood pressure than those who learned progressive muscle relaxation, suggesting that mindfulness could help people at risk for heart disease by bringing blood pressure down.

In another study, people with heart disease were randomly assigned to either an online program to help them practice meditation or to a waitlist for the program while undergoing normal treatment for heart disease. Those who took the mindfulness program showed significant improvements on the six-minute walking test (a measure of cardiovascular capacity) and slower heart rates than those in the waitlist group.

While one review of randomly controlled studies showed that mindfulness may have mixed effects on the physical symptoms of heart disease, a more recent review published by the American Heart Association concluded that, while research remains preliminary, there is enough evidence to suggest mindfulness as an adjunct treatment for coronary disease and its prevention.

Mindfulness may also be good for hearts that are already relatively healthy. Research suggests that meditating can increase respiratory sinus arrhythmia, the natural variations in heart rate that happen when we breathe that indicate better heart health and an increased chance of surviving a heart attack.

Mindfulness may decrease cognitive decline from aging or Alzheimer’s

People tend to lose some of their cognitive flexibility and short-term memory as they age. But mindfulness may be able to slow cognitive decline, even in people with Alzheimer’s disease.

In a 2016 study, people with Alzheimer’s disease engaged in either mindfulness meditation, cognitive stimulation therapy, relaxation training, or no treatment, and were given cognitive tests over two years. While cognitive stimulation and relaxation training seemed to be somewhat beneficial in comparison to no treatment, the mindfulness training group had much more robust improvements on cognitive scores than any other group.

MINDFUL BREATHING – TRY IT NOW (HERE)

Why might that be true? A 2017 study looking at brain function in healthy, older adults suggests meditation may increase attention. In this study, people 55 to 75 years old spent eight weeks practicing either focused breathing meditation or a control activity. Then, they were given the Stroop test—a test that measures attention and emotional control—while having their brains monitored by electroencephalography. Those undergoing breath training had significantly better attention on the Stroop test and more activation in an area of the brain associated with attention than those in the active control group.

While this research is preliminary, a systematic review of research to date suggests that mindfulness may mitigate cognitive decline, perhaps due to its effects on memory, attention, processing, and executive functioning.

Mindfulness may improve your immune response

When we encounter viruses and other disease-causing organisms, our bodies send out troops of immune cells that circulate in the blood. These cells, including pro- and anti-inflammatory proteins, neutrophils, T-cells, immunoglobulins, and natural killer cells, help us to fight disease and infection in various ways. Mindfulness, it turns out, may affect these disease-fighting cells.

In several studies, mindfulness meditation appeared to increase levels of T-cells or T-cell activity in patients with HIV or breast cancer. This suggests that mindfulness could play a role in fighting cancer and other diseases that call upon immune cells. Indeed, in people suffering from cancer, mindfulness appears to improve a variety of biomarkers that might indicate progression of the disease.

In another study, elderly participants were randomly assigned to an eight-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course or a moderate-intensity exercise program. At the end, participants who’d practiced mindfulness had higher levels of the protein interleukin-8 in their nasal secretions, suggesting improved immune function.

Another study found increases in interleukin-10 in colitis patients who took a mindfulness meditation course compared to a mind-body educational program, especially among patients whose colitis had flared up. Yet another study found that patients who had greater increases in mindfulness after an MBSR course also showed faster wound healing, a process regulated by the immune system.

Studies have found effects on markers of inflammation, too—like C-reactive protein, which in higher levels can harm physical health. Research shows that people with rheumatoid arthritis have reduced C-reactive protein levels after taking an MBSR course versus being on a waitlist for the course. Overall, these findings suggest that mindfulness meditation can have disease-fighting powers through our immune response.

Mindfulness may reduce cell aging

Cell aging occurs naturally as cells repeatedly divide over the lifespan and can also be increased by disease or stress. Proteins called telomeres, which are found at the end of chromosomes and serve to protect them from aging, seem to be impacted by mindfulness meditation.

Studies suggest that long-time meditators may have greater telomere lengths. In one experimental study, researchers found that breast cancer survivors who went through MBSR preserved the length of their telomeres better than those who were on a waitlist. However, this study also found that general supportive therapies impacted telomere length; so, there may not be something special about MBSR that impacts cell aging.

On the other hand, another study with breast cancer survivors found no differences in telomere length after taking an MBSR course; but they did find differences in telomere activity, which is also related to cell aging. In fact, a 2018 review of research ties mindfulness training to increased telomere activity, suggesting it indirectly affects the integrity of the telomeres in our cells. Perhaps that’s why scientists are at least optimistic about the positive effects of meditation on aging.

Mindfulness may help reduce psychological pain

Of course, while the above physiological benefits of mindfulness are compelling, we needn’t forget that mindfulness also impacts our psychological well-being, which, in turn, affects physical health. In fact, it’s quite likely that these changes have synergistic effects on one another.

First of all, a great deal of research suggests that mindfulness can help healthy people reduce their stress. And thanks to Jon-Kabat Zinn’s pioneering MBSR program, there’s now a large body of research showing that mindfulness can help people cope with the painanxietydepression, and stress that might accompany illness, especially chronic conditions.

For example, drug addictions, at heart, come about because of physiological cravings for a substance that relieves people temporarily from their psychological suffering. Mindfulness can be a useful adjunct to addiction treatment by helping people better understand and tolerate their cravings, potentially helping them to avoid relapse after they’ve been safely weaned off of drugs or alcohol. The same is true for people struggling with overeating.

Fascinating though it is, we shouldn’t overplay meditation’s effects on physical health at the expense of its importance to emotional health. In fact, it may be difficult to separate out the two, as a key impact of mindfulness is stress reduction, and psychological stress has been tied to heart healthimmune response, and telomere length. This idea is further supported by the fact that other stress-reducing therapies also seem to impact physical health, as well.

Still, it’s encouraging to know that something that can be taught and practiced can have an impact on our overall health—not just mental but also physical—more than 2,000 years after it was developed. That’s reason enough to give mindfulness meditation a try.

10 Effective Holistic Wellness Treatments

Focusing on the self and healing naturally can be done with holistic thinking, which is viewing the body as a whole unit, rather than in parts. There are many treatments aligned with this view of health, and some of these effective treatments are offered at holistic wellness clubs and centers, including any high-quality holistic wellness club in Kansas City or elsewhere. Below, we share just 10 of the many effective holistic wellness treatments that are performed at most holistic wellness clubs.

Massage therapy

There are many kinds of massages offered from hot stone massages, massages for expecting mothers, deep tissue massages, and many more. There is something for everyone.

Massage is beneficial to the body in many ways. It relaxes the nervous system while stimulating it at the same time. This regenerates the body’s blood circulation and leads to pain reduction and the release of muscle tension. That muscle tension can cause daily discomfort without you even being aware of the source. A massage can ease tension and provide an entirely new fresh feel for your body.

Spa facial massages

Wrinkles and fine lines can be reduced by regular massages. Lymphatic buildup of fluid in the face is released through massage, keeping the body draining and moving the toxins where they need to go. There are facial massages for blemishes and others to help one defy age marks.

Steam baths

These are a beneficial way to holistically cleanse the body. Steam baths provide mental relaxation, muscle tension reduction, skin cleansing, and an overall positive reaction of immune system function. Steam baths offer a different type of cleansing ritual that can be extra useful for certain health conditions. They are also used to treat dry skin and also help those with sleep issues.

People have also been known to have benefitted by experiencing fewer headaches, more manageable arthritis symptoms, and overall better immune system function. Steam can be used to replace the traditional shower and cleanses the skin through perspiration.

Saunas

Saunas are like steam baths, although the humidity can be further controlled. Detoxify with sauna use by encouraging the body to perspire and get rid of impurities and build up in the lymphatic systems of the body. They also provide mental relaxation similar to that of a calm yoga class.

Exfoliation with body scrubs

Body scrubs are a great way to increase blood circulation and cell turnover. Dead skin cells can build up on the body. Body brushing and scrubs help keep your skin soft and new.

Yoga

Yoga can be done by anyone. There are practices for those looking to get fit and toned, and there are classes more suited for mental meditation practice and gentle exercise. The body benefits greatly from yoga. A body in motion stays in motion is the saying, and that is in a way what yoga does for your body. It helps muscles and body connections stay strong and flexible.

Yoga is a good way to incorporate exercise into a daily routine because it can be done anywhere and target any area of the body. It also helps bring awareness of the connection between the body and mind.

Energy healing

Energy healing can be done by helping to align a person’s physical, emotional, and mental bodies together as one. A certified reiki master performs the energy ritual. Lay back and relax as you are helped to achieve balance and wholeness. These sessions help to release built-up emotional energy that usually causes tension and discomfort.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is another on the list of well-known and effective holistic treatments and has been around for a very long time. Using scents to relax the mind and body is one of the easiest ways to heal and treat any ailments one may have.

For example, a swab of lavender put under the pillow at night can help restless sleeping. Or a nice citrus scent of orange or lime can help lift and awaken one to a positive and bright morning.

Another neat thing is that everyone experiences scents differently, so there are so many blends and scents for all and any. Pleasant scents and aromatherapy can help to reduce stress and anxiety and also calm nerves.

Meditation

It may sound too simple to be an effective treatment, but it has been shown that even a restful conscious break of at least 10 minutes a day can reduce stress and tension in a person and help them handle stressors and outside forces. Meditation does not have to be complicated either. Meditation can be extremely beneficial for those going through stressful life events, those experiencing depression, or anyone looking to relax. The body is affected by the mind and meditation is a step into furthering the connection between the two.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a practice when points are activated that stimulate the central nervous system. This starts the release of chemicals into the spinal cord, brain, and muscles. This is said to help the body heal itself, essentially by activating the body’s immune responses and natural healing capabilities. The process involves inserting very tiny needles into these points through the person’s skin.

Improving Your Mental Wellbeing In 2021

With a new year slowly getting into full swing, you may be attempting to think up various resolutions and goals that you can aim for in the coming months. One of the best targets that you can set to achieve in 2021 is an improved mental wellbeing, as 2020 was a tough year for many that brought with it a number of trials and tribulations. Luckily it needn’t be difficult to take better care of your mind this year, as there are just a few key areas in which you can focus your efforts to ensure you can feel as right as rain in no time at all. So, if you would like to find out more, then read on to uncover some of the best tips and tricks that you can make the most of today!

A Good Diet Matters

Though you may not initially associate your bad mood with the food that you eat, a good diet can actually have a dramatic impact on the way that you feel. Sticking to junk food that’s high in unhealthy ingredients such as saturated fat and sugar can cause all manner of issues from mood swings to fatigue and irritability, so there’s no time like the present to make a change. Making an effort to ensure you can eat a nutritious diet that’s rich in whole foods and fresh fruit and veggies is one of the best things that you can do for the sake of your long term health. A balanced diet made up of complex carbs and lean protein will provide you with a slow, stable release of energy, along with a whole variety of vitamins and minerals that can further boost your wellbeing. If you’re not quite sure about how you can create the best healthy meal plan for you then do not fret, as there are a number of different resources online that can help to show you the ropes in no time. You can even find a seemingly endless supply of healthy recipes that you can follow to whip up a delicious (nutritious!) dish from the comfort of your home, so there’s no need to dial up your local greasy takeaway for a fat filled hit when you could be loading up your plate with a portion of a healthy homemade dish. Eating bad food, especially those which are spicy and fried, can also have an effect on your sleeping pattern. High fat foods can cause indigestion and acid reflux to occur during the night when eaten close to bedtime, so steer clear of these foods if you wish to have a restful nights sleep.

Taking Time Out

The hustle and bustle of a busy lifestyle can easily become too much to handle. Attending a shift at work to be bombarded with requests and expectations, just to get home and be equally pummelled by a never ending reel of questions (and mishaps) presented by your children can be difficult to bear. There are so many negative and stress invoking features to contend with on the daily, from exaggerated news spread across the TV to endless adverts selling caskets and funerals. Taking time out from all of the stress and hassle can offer you the perfect opportunity to restore and rebalance your mental state, allowing you to wipe the slate clean for a refreshed, rejuvenated approach. Put down your mobile phone and switch off any other technology as frequently as you can, allowing yourself to relax and unwind without the drowning sound of a boring television programme distracting you from the task at hand. Meditation is one of the best ways to ensure you can benefit from taking time out, as such a practice can have a dramatic effect on the way that you feel. Start off by seeking out a quiet, comfortable location in which you can sit down and unwind. Focus on your breathing, taking deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth in a slow, rhythmic manner. Aim to focus on your breathing technique, letting go of any other passing thoughts that don’t bring joy, relaxing your body and mind to achieve a state of mindfulness. Meditation has been utilised by millions of people for such a long time (potentially more than a thousand years), so it’s definitely a worthwhile practice to pursue if you wish to improve your mental wellbeing this year.

Setting Boundaries

A great way to start improving your mental wellbeing is by making yourself and your needs a main focus, as you have to become your own main priority to stay as happy and healthy as can be. Allowing other people to make decisions on your behalf simply won’t be compatible with your new positive lifestyle, and nor will making others your main priority by taking care of them before taking care of yourself. Learning how to set boundaries can be of real benefit in this respect, as you can make it clear what you will and will not accept from those around you. Setting boundaries in places such as the workplace will ensure you needn’t suffer through any emotional distress, as you can then recognise and leave a toxic situation immediately to seek a more professional solution, letting your colleagues know that you will not be standing for any kind of nonsense that they may be wanting to throw your way. Learning to say no is another important feature, as it’s easy to become overwhelmed when accepting every request left, right and centre. Though it may be tough, saying a firm ‘no’ to any unreasonable requests can give you a sense of freedom and control that you may never otherwise experience. You are completely within your rights to say no to anything, from extra shifts at work to heading out to the bar with your friends, so don’t be afraid to set your own boundaries to feel as comfortable and content as possible.

Improving your mental wellbeing in 2021 has never been so simple when you can make the most of the tricks described above!

As long as you remain careful about their usage, they provide you with an ideal way to obtain a healthier body and digestive system with minimal efforts on your part.

New Research Shows Water Exercises as Effective as Gym Workouts for Preventing Cardiovascular Disease

Swimming, aqua-aerobics, and other water-based exercises are popular for people aged 55 and older to keep fit without putting a strain on the joints. Studies show that water-based exercises have many benefits, including improving gait, balance, and mobility. It’s also thought to offer benefits as part of rehabilitation programs for peripheral arterial disease, in which arteries in the legs, stomach, arms, and head narrow.

But while water-based exercises are shown to have benefits for other aspects of health, until now there’s been limited evidence on whether it’s as beneficial on reducing cardiovascular disease risk for older adults and improving their heart health.

Our latest study explored the long-term effects of regular, water-based aerobic exercise on cardiovascular health. We proved for the first time that they’re as effective as other types of aerobic exercise for lowering cardiovascular disease risk for older people.

Our study enrolled 80 people over the age of 55 with normal blood pressure and without pre-existing clinical conditions, such as diabetes. We avoided recruiting people who regularly performed high-intensity exercise, such as CrossFit. This was to ensure that all the exercise regimes we compared were as similar as possible and because high-intensity exercise can be difficult to perform in the water.

Water-based exercises can often be easier on the joints as well.

Our participants were exercising on average four times per week, for at least six months. We compared people who trained in the water against those who trained in a gym or took exercise classes, and those who did a mixture of both types of exercises. We also compared this data against a reference group who didn’t exercise at all.

In order to see what effect exercise was having on cardiovascular health, we measured how efficient the inner vein lining (endothelium) of their small veins and large arteries were. The endothelium is crucial for minimizing cardiovascular disease risk at any age.

We found that all three modes of exercise offer similar benefits to our arteries and small veins. The mechanism behind these findings isn’t very clear. However, it’s likely that this is because exercise can increase the production of nitric oxide in our bodies. This is a key component for preserving endothelial function in both small veins and arteries. So the greater the nitric oxide production, the better arteries, and small veins can work.

Endothelial function for the exercise groups were also significantly better than the function in the inactive group. This suggests that for older adults, all exercise plays an important role in protecting against cardiovascular disease, whether it’s performed in or out of water.

Exercising at every age

Cardiovascular disease remains a main cause of death for older people. While exercise – either alone or alongside a healthy diet – can protect against cardiovascular disease, older people often don’t get as much exercise as they should. For example, statistics show that only 13% of women over 75 meet daily physical activity recommendations for their age group.

There are many reasons why older people might not exercise, including fear of injury and lack of confidence in using exercise equipment. But this could mean that they’re missing out on important heart benefits that can protect against cardiovascular disease. This is why promoting forms of exercise that older people feel comfortable doing – and that they want to do – need to be explored and promoted.

This is why our findings may be particularly important, as we’re the first to directly show that water-based exercise is as good for cardiovascular health as exercising in a gym, for the older age-group. This means people can choose a form of exercise that causes less pain, stress, or strain on joints, but will still benefit their heart health. This may be especially good news for people who may be frailer, or for those who are afraid of handling gym equipment.

More research will be needed to better understand why water-based exercise causes these benefits to veins and arteries. But our findings suggest that water-based exercise is an enjoyable way to protect against cardiovascular disease.

Futuristic Pharmacy Helps Patients Feel Better Without Using Prescription Drugs

It’s winter, common cold and flu are to stay. A few tricks on sleeves can help your body fight off illnesses and boost the immune system. Boosting immunity seems easier to preach than practice. There is a lot one needs to do- these may be the lifestyle and dietary changes, which may strengthen the body. The health and medical professionals are all pro for using some natural defenses for fighting harmful pathogens and other organisms that cause diseases.

Now that you’re a cautious person who’s looking forward to undertaking a healthy lifestyle and is thinking of boosting the immune system. Knowing some tips can work wonders for you. Yes, you can strengthen your immune system for the care that never quits with some maxims:

Get a good night’s sleep:

There is a close connection between sleep and immunity. If you get inadequate sleep, you have a greater susceptibility to illness. Research shows that adults who sleep less than 6 hours a night can catch a cold more than people who slept more than 6 hours a night. A night of good sleep can strengthen your immune system. Doctors always recommend sleeping more to enable your immune system to fight illnesses. Thus, adults should aim for sleeping for seven or more hours while teenagers and infants should sleep for 8-10 hours and 14 hours. Try to limit your screen time before bed if you are facing trouble sleeping. This option is good because blue light disrupts the circadian rhythms of the body.

Eat probiotic foods:

Probiotics or live microorganisms bring about health benefits. The probiotic foods boost immunity. One should include fermented and cultured foods with the natural substance in your diet. The experts recommend taking

  1. Unpasteurized kimchi and sauerkraut
  2. Cottage cheese, kefir, lassi, and leban
  3. Tofu, miso, tamari, or natto
  4. Kombucha and kvass

Probiotic foods are rich in flavors, so you should consider consuming them one at a time. A teaspoon a day can help in developing the taste of beneficial foods. Medical professionals are all thumbs up for health supplements like IntraMax for boosting your immune system. These also support germ-killing and detoxifies the entire body. These organic substances help in trading your body for a much healthy option- the one that’ll never let you worry again.

Engage in moderate exercises:

Intense exercising can suppress your immune system, while moderate exercising can work in giving it a boost. Studies show that a single session can be as effective as vaccines are for one’s health and well-being. Regular exercising can work in reducing inflammation and help in regenerating your immune system cells. One can include brisk walking, jogging, swimming, steady bicycling, and light hiking in their everyday routine, which should be at least 150 minutes per week to generate the benefits you’re looking for.

Health is a Boon, Folks. Care for it!

Eating a well-balanced diet, stressing less, staying hydrated, and consuming less added sugars are some ways of boosting your immune system. Making some lifestyle and dietary changes can work wonders in strengthening your immune system and reinforcing the body’s defenses against pathogens.

Frequency: The Bold Future of Wellness

By Gary “Koz” Mraz

It’s no secret that the matter around us isn’t really solid. Rather, it is made up of atoms and tiny particles composed of nuclei orbited by electrons. These tiny particles are filled with vibrant energy but are mostly empty space. In fact, 99.999999 percent of the matter around us is empty space.

Astoundingly, scientists have theorized that if you took the empty space out of every human on earth, you could compress the entire human population down to an object smaller than a sugar cube. With this in mind, imagine what we can do once we gain a greater understanding of our spatial worlds in relation to our material worlds.

As we gaze into the dark sky amid the Red Rocks of Sedona, innumerable galaxies lie before us in a universe of empty space. The vibrational frequencies of atomic particles within our space creates everything we see, hear, touch, and smell. Pure physics, if accepted as truth, open us up to unlimited possibilities that challenge the impossible.

Everything has its own unique frequency, which is regularly channeled today through a variety of modern technologies we use. Today’s healers often use the power of frequency in a form of “energy medicine,” which utilizes ancient and modern technologies for the purpose of recalibrating the body’s energetics, thus bringing it into homeostasis.

Who are the frequency healers, and what are their tools? These healers are the shamans, light workers, mystics, and a variety of other practitioners. Over thousands of years, they have worked with the sound waves of ancient Tibetan bowls, tuning forks, skin drums, bells, and the human voice. As technology evolved, super-charged electrons and protons created a current that begat a myriad of inventions—all based on electricity. And, today in Sedona, Arizona, an ancient future of shamanism and science, mysticism and modern technology, have merged to advance wellness on a whole new level. Let’s journey into the metaphysics of our sensory relationship to frequency.

Audio SpectrumSound. Invisible to the eye, sonic vibrations can affect the physical body dramatically. Humans can hear from about 20 to 20,000 Hz (or cycles per second). In the extreme low frequency scenario, there is an urban myth that a low, infrasonic frequency of 5 and 9 Hz, known as the “brown note,” has the capacity to cause humans to lose control of their bodily functions. In the extreme high frequency scenario, current research now suggests that cancer cells can be destroyed at a frequency between 100, 000 and 300,000 Hz.

In a sublime case scenario, listening to binaural beats—two slightly different audio frequencies, both lower than 1500 Hz (with less than a 40 Hz difference between them) played separately into the ears through headphones—induce a variety of delta, theta, alpha, and beta brain waves. It has been said that binaural beats can induce the same mental state associated with meditation, but much more swiftly. The beats are known to help reduce stress and anxiety, manage pain, induce relaxation and positivity, and increase concentration.

Electromagnetic Spectrum – Light.  Humans see a very limited part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Wi-Fi occupies the radio frequency band of the electromagnetic spectrum between radio waves and microwaves. You can listen to FM radio, talk on your cell phone, and cook your dinner using of all these invisible frequency spectrums. EMF, a collage of heightened frequencies that stress our body’s cellular integrity, is a hot topic today. And, with the advent of 5G’s ultra-fast speeds and massive capacities, its hyper 24 to 90 gigahertz frequencies threaten to wreak havoc on our delicate, human cellular organisms.

As history has shown us, we are not only influenced by frequencies; we also have the capacity to be influencers of frequencies that can bring balance to the EMF equation. Sedona is a mecca for frequency healing—manna for the body, mind, and spirit. This article offers a brief overview of a few technological innovations available right here in our healing community. They range from mind bending space/time science like tachyon particles to the pure physical relaxation of a flotation tank. A variety of these healing modalities and resources can be found throughout this publication. As we are not medical experts, we advise you to do your own research and consult your healthcare practitioner when considering any of these modalities.

The Healy™

The Healy™ is a wearable, FDA approved medical device that offers you a world of applications using individualized frequencies to help balance your mind and body and relieve stress on a cellular level.

The Healy™ is a wearable, FDA approved medical device that offers you a world of applications using individualized frequencies to help balance your mind and body and relieve stress on a cellular level. Marcus Schmieke, born in Oldenburg Germany in 1966, is the inventor and developer of the Healy™ and TimeWaver®* products. He is the founder of the Institute for Existential Consciousness Research Institute (ECR) in Berlin, an institute for applied consciousness research.

Marcus and renowned Portuguese frequency researcher Nuno Nina, plus several international physicists researched the interaction between matter and consciousness at a high scientific level. Marcus himself has written more than 20 books about the interconnection between spirit and matter and other philosophical and scientific topics.

Every cell in your body has the same blueprint that is stored in the DNA. Each of your cells contains this entire blueprint for all other body cells, with each cell having a data memory of approximately 2 gigabytes. Of these, only about 3 percent is used to store genetic information; the purpose of the remaining storage space in the cell is largely unexplained.

The Cell Nucleus

The structure and internal functioning of every one of your cells is largely the same. The cell nucleus as the boss, the mitochondria as power plants, the ATP as energy storage, the endoplasmic reticulum as the intestine, the Golgi apparatus as an enzyme producer and the cell membrane as the outer shell that holds everything together.

Each of your cells has its own metabolism: water, nutrients and oxygen have to enter, metabolic products need to be taken out.

In humans, it is well known to everyone how water and nutrients are transported in and how metabolic products are transported out. For the cells, this transport is handled through openings in their surface, the so-called cell membrane.

These “valves” in the cell membrane open and close as needed. This mechanism is based on voltage potential, i.e., the difference in voltage between the cell interior and the intercellular space. The right or wrong amount of such potential is responsible for healthy or impaired cell metabolism.

Frequency Application

As we just mentioned, the transport of matter into and out of the cell functions by a kind of magnetically controlled valve mechanism. The voltage potential, i.e., the difference between the voltage inside the cell and the voltage between the cells, is responsible for healthy (physiological) cell metabolism. In our opinion, this mechanism explains why Healy’s frequencies can be applied for many different purposes and imbalances.

The Tachyon Chamber/Tachyon Rods

Having utilized a quartz oscillator crystal, akin to what was located aboard the Genesis II spacecraft, the developer of today’s Tachyon Chambers created a hyper-dimensional wormhole that bypasses earth’s magnetic field and funnels tachyons into a healing chamber. This facilitates a transfer from outer space into the physical and electro-magnetic matter of the clients’ body while in the Tachyon Chamber.

According to documentation in the field of quantum physics, tachyons are hypothetical sub-atomic particles that travel faster than the speed of light and beyond time, unlike electrons, neutrons, and protons. Because tachyons are the highest frequency particles that can be combined with matter, nothing negative, unhealthy, or unnatural can co-exist with them.

Apart from their extreme high-frequency vibration, which has prevented scientists from even being able to measure them, tachyons are scattered throughout outer space and very few of them reach the earth’s surface. This may explain why astronauts report experiences of “euphoria” once they leave earth’s atmosphere. PEMF—Pulsating Electro-Magnetic Field Generators

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMFT), also known as low field magnetic stimulation (LFMS), uses electromagnetic fields for wellness and healing. In 2007 the FDA had cleared such stimulation devices.

The Pulse Center Website states, “We can think of PEMF as a battery charger for our cells. The voltage of a healthy cell is about -20 to -25 millivolts. We start to get sick when that voltage drops below -15 millivolts or less. Once our cells’ voltage drops below that level, they are unable to heal and become dysfunctional. By inducing a mild electrical magnetic current into damaged cells, PEMF therapy slows or stops the release of pain and inflammatory mediators, increases blood flow of the cells, and re-establishes normal cell interaction. With reduced inflammation, pain decreases, energy increases, and faster tissue healing occurs.”

According to Jerry Tennant, MD, author of Healing is Voltage, “Chronic disease and loss of well-being is always defined by low electrical charge. With enough voltage and raw materials, the body can heal almost anything. “

There is a variety of PEMF mats available on the market that can be discovered here in Sedona. They all claim positive effects on basic body functions such as increased blood circulation, improved oxygen supply, and enhanced metabolism. One such poplar PEMF technology is the BEMER, or Bio-Electromagnetic Energy Regulator. Sedona Wellness, (https://sedonawellness.com) offers treatments on the Sedona Pro PEMF System, and Raven’s Call Healing Center (https://ravenscallinc.com) offers treatments on the BEMER.

Crystal Mats

Crystal mats come in a wide variety of materials for just as many purposes. Some of the most popular are used for Far Infrared therapy (FIR). Many practitioners utilize different mat combinations, which may include amethyst, tourmaline, jade, obsidian, rainbow 7 stone mats, and more. Some crystal mats are also PEMF. For instance, a popular brand, the Amethyst Bio-Mat, gently elevates your body’s surface temperature to 107.6 Fahrenheit (42 Celsius) and above, which positively activates your body systems and functions.

When the infrared mat induces a small temperature increase in the body, it enhances your body’s functioning on a variety of levels. These invisible energy waves gently penetrate all layers of your body, reaching into the inner-most areas of your tissues, bones, and muscles. Radiant infrared heat will heat you directly, rather than just warming the air around you like a conventional heating pad does.

Its proponents claim that far infrared heat (otherwise known as radiant heat) helps to alleviate pain more effectively than less absorbent, topical heat, helping to heal, soothe, detox, and stimulate your body and mind. To experience an infra-red treatment on an Amethyst Bio-Mat, visit Sedona Crystal Vortex (https://sedonacrystalvortex.com).

The Harmonic Egg

If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” ~ Nikola Tesla

The Harmonic Egg was developed by Gail Lynn at the Life Center in Colorado. It is a resonant chamber for relaxation and de-stressing the body. The experience offers a restorative emotional and physical response to light and sounds, promoting a sense of internal balance and well-being.

Gail explains, “Nikola Tesla’s theories were studied when creating The Harmonic Egg and we used 3, 6 and 9s in the structure. Tesla stated, ‘If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6 and 9, then you would have a key to the universe.’ There is something powerful to that statement. The golden mean ratio, sacred geometry and ancient Egyptian and Greek philosophies were also considered and implemented in the design and protocol for sessions.”

The Harmonic Egg uses frequency (music), vibrations, sound, and light waves that spiral 360 degrees around an individual, relaxed in a zero-gravity chair. The only Harmonic Egg currently available in Sedona is at Medically Yours Sedona (http://www.medicallyyourssedona.com).

An Avocado A Day Keeps Your Gut Microbes Happy

Source: Natural Blaze

Eating avocado as part of your daily diet can help improve gut health, a new study from the University of Illinois shows. Avocados are a healthy food that is high in dietary fiber and monounsaturated fat. However, it was not clear how avocados impact the microbes in the gastrointestinal system or “gut.”

“We know eating avocados helps you feel full and reduces blood cholesterol concentration, but we did not know how it influences the gut microbes, and the metabolites the microbes produce,” says Sharon Thompson, a graduate student in the Division of Nutritional Sciences at U of I and lead author on the paper, published in the Journal of Nutrition.

The researchers found that people who ate avocado every day as part of a meal had a greater abundance of gut microbes that break down fiber and produce metabolites that support gut health. They also had greater microbial diversity compared to people who did not receive the avocado meals in the study.

“Microbial metabolites are compounds the microbes produce that influence health,” Thompson says. “Avocado consumption reduced bile acids and increased short-chain fatty acids. These changes correlate with beneficial health outcomes.”

The study included 163 adults between 25 and 45 years of age with overweight or obese – defined as a BMI of at least 25 kg/m2 – but otherwise healthy. They received one meal per day to consume as a replacement for either breakfast, lunch, or dinner. One group consumed an avocado with each meal, while the control group consumed a similar meal but without the avocado. The participants provided blood, urine, and fecal samples throughout the 12-week study. They also reported how much of the provided meals they consumed, and every four weeks recorded everything they ate.

While other research on avocado consumption has focused on weight loss, participants in this study were not advised to restrict or change what they ate. Instead, they consumed their normal diets with the exception of replacing one meal per day with the meal the researchers provided.

The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of avocado consumption on the gastrointestinal microbiota, says Hannah Holscher, assistant professor of nutrition in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at U of I and senior author of the study.

“Our goal was to test the hypothesis that the fats and the fiber in avocados positively affect the gut microbiota. We also wanted to explore the relationships between gut microbes and health outcomes,” Holscher says.

Avocados are rich in fat; however, the researchers found that while the avocado group consumed slightly more calories than the control group, slightly more fat was excreted in their stool.

“Greater fat excretion means the research participants were absorbing less energy from the foods that they were eating. This was likely because of reductions in bile acids, which are molecules our digestion system secretes that allow us to absorb fat. We found that the number of bile acids in stool was lower and the amount of fat in the stool was higher in the avocado group,” Holscher explains.

Different types of fats have differential effects on the microbiome. The fats in avocados are monounsaturated, which are heart-healthy fats.

Soluble fiber content is also very important, Holscher notes. A medium avocado provides around 12 grams of fiber, which goes a long way toward meeting the recommended amount of 28 to 34 grams of fiber per day.

“Less than 5% of Americans eat enough fiber. Most people consume around 12 to 16 grams of fiber per day. Thus, incorporating avocados in your diet can help get you closer to meeting the fiber recommendation,” she notes.

Eating fiber isn’t just good for us; it’s important for the microbiome, too, Holscher states. “We can’t break down dietary fibers, but certain gut microbes can. When we consume dietary fiber, it’s a win-win for gut microbes and for us.”

Holscher’s research lab specializes in dietary modulation of the microbiome and its connections to health. “Just like we think about heart-healthy meals, we need to also be thinking about gut healthy meals and how to feed the microbiota,” she explains.

Avocado is an energy-dense food, but it is also nutrient-dense, and it contains important micronutrients that Americans don’t eat enough of, like potassium and fiber.

“It’s just a really nicely packaged fruit that contains nutrients that are important for health. Our work shows we can add benefits to gut health to that list,” Holscher says.

4 Ways to Prepare for a New Wellness Routine

The new year is almost upon us, which means that millions of people across the world will soon be settling on new fitness resolutions for 2021. While most people genuinely want to become healthier and happier individuals, relatively few succeed in that endeavor in the long term. A big reason why many struggle to build healthy habits is due to lack of preparation. Indeed, it’s crucial to take steps to prepare your body and your mind for a new diet, exercise routine, and wellness program. As such, today we’ll share four key ways health-conscious individuals can set themselves up for success in 2021. Check it out here:

Speak with Your Doctor

No matter how closely you monitor your well-being, it’s always a good idea to speak with your doctor any time you make a significant lifestyle change. Remember that your doctor will be able to give you sound advice about enhancing your diet and exercise habits. Plus, they may be able to recommend treatment options if you’re struggling with joint or muscle pain. For example, treatments such as stem cell therapy for shoulders have been known to help with issues like rotator cuff tears.

Adjust Your Schedule

In order to improve your fitness results, odds are you’ll have to work out more often than you currently do. Given that fact, it pays to adjust your schedule to give yourself more time to hit the gym and work out. By adding one or two more exercise sessions to your weekly regimen, you could see substantial health improvements. Also, if you decide to cook more as part of your diet, it’s a good idea to factor that additional time into your daily plan.

Develop Fail-Safes

Even the most dedicated fitness enthusiasts occasionally slip up or make mistakes. So what should you do if you miss a workout session or if you have a cheat day on your diet? While the answers to those questions will vary from person to person, it is a smart idea to build backup plans and fail-safes for yourself. This way, you’ll be able to get back on track if you start to struggle with your new program. Staying healthy isn’t easy, but having a plan in place to bounce back can help in this regard.

Set Short-Term Goals

Let’s say that you want to lose 20 pounds next year. Rather than only focusing on this big goal, be sure to give yourself more accessible milestones to reach in the here and now. Monthly, weekly, or even daily goals can help you stay focused and build up toward long-term achievements. By knocking out manageable objectives in the short-term, you can give yourself a great chance of accomplishing your most ambitious fitness goals for the New Year.

But being active and keeping your body moving is essential to have a healthy body and a calm mind. Read the below article to know more about the benefits of maintaining an active lifestyle.

1. It Can Make You Feel Better.

Exercise improves your temper and reduces feelings of unhappiness, nervousness, and pressure. It makes variations in the parts of the brain that control tension and anxiety. An active lifestyle can also increase brain sensitivity for the hormones serotonin and norepinephrine, which release feelings of sadness. Moreover, the workout can raise endorphins, known to help yield optimistic moods and decrease pain insight.

Also, workouts can decrease people’s anxiety disorders. Exercise also makes you more conscious of your psychological state and practice distraction from their doubts. Fascinatingly, it doesn’t matter how intense your workout is. Workout can be a mood lifter. No matter how intense training you follow, any physical activity can help you stay calm. 2. It Can Help in Weight Reduction.

Some studies have shown that idleness is the central aspect of weight gain and plumpness. To understand how physical exercise affects weight decrease, you must first grasp the association of work out and energy consumption by the body. Your body expends energy in three methods: digesting food, physical exercise, and continuing body tasks like your heartbeat and inhalation. While on a diet, decreased calorie consumption will reduce your metabolic speed, postponing weight loss. On the other side, regular exercise has helped raise your metabolic degree, consuming more calories, and decreasing weight.

Moreover, research has exposed that combining aerobic workout with fighting training can take full advantage of fat reduction and muscle mass upkeep, which is vital for keeping the mass off. Exercise is critical for supporting fast digestion and consuming more calories per day. It also benefits you to preserve your muscle quantity and mass loss.

3. It Is Upright for Your Bones.

Exercise plays a vital role in constructing and upholding sturdy muscles and bones. A physical movement like weight lifting can encourage muscle building when combined with sufficient protein consumption. That is because a workout helps release hormones that stimulate your muscles’ capacity to captivate amino acids. Moreover, it benefits them to nurture and decreases their collapse. As individuals age, they tend to reduce muscle quantity and utility, leading to damages and incapacities.

COVID Vaccine: What We Don’t Know

By ANH-USA | Alliance for Natural Health

An FDA committee is meeting next week to review the first COVID vaccine. We must demand that full transparency is given to the American public. Action Alert!

Pfizer has applied for emergency use authorization (EUA) for its COVID-19 vaccine, and an FDA advisory committee will meet in an open session on December 10 to review Pfizer’s data; Moderna recently announced that it, too, has filed for an EUA. We’re being told by the manufacturers that both of these vaccines have above 90% efficacy and serious adverse events are low. That’s all well and good, but we cannot rely on the word of vaccine makers that their products are safe. We need the data, and so far, we are not even close to getting it. This is completely unacceptable.

The chart below shows that BioNTech/Pfizer and Moderna have fallen pitifully short of demonstrating the full transparency that we and ANH-International have been calling for. Out of ten areas, full transparency has been provided in zero categories. In 6 of 10 categories, none or very little of the data is in the public domain.

Table. Current status of transparency on BioNTech/Pfizer and Moderna mrna vaccines
(19th November 2020)

Courtesy of ANH-International

We should not even think about receiving a COVID vaccine, nor should the FDA grant an EUA to a COVID vaccine, until these companies show us their cards and let all of their data be independently analyzed. Only then can we know the true risk/benefit of these vaccines and be able to make informed choices, for ourselves and our families.

The Important Rules For Treating A Wound

Caring for a wound after you suffer one can be something that is challenging. With the current situation in the world, it is harder to get ourselves to a doctor and therefore learning some simple self-care tips at home can be a useful thing.

Today we are going to talk about some of the simple ways that you can treat a wound after you get it, and make sure that it does not become infected. Use these tips to treat yourself as well as people in your household and this will make a big difference and ensure that everyone is happy and healing!

Don’t stick your fingers in it

The first important tip we have for anyone who has suffered a cut or a scrape is to not put your fingers in it. This might seem like common sense, but curiosity often gets the best of us and many of us try to touch a wound to see what it feels like. There are several reasons why this is not a good idea. Firstly, it will hurt! Secondly, putting your fingers on a cut could transfer dirt from your fingers into it. And lastly, any bacteria you have on your fingers could end up in the wound and cause an infection. Play it safe, and if you need to inspect the wound further wear some gloves.

Look for foreign objects

When you fall or injure yourself and get a cut, it is important to check whether there are any foreign objects still inside. If you have fallen on pavement for example, it is likely that some pieces of stone and grit are still in the area and need to be removed. If you fail to check for foreign objects, your skin can heal over the top and this can be incredibly uncomfortable and will need minor surgery to remove. With clean gloved hands, take a look inside the wound and be sure there is nothing there.

Wash it out with saline

Saline is a posh name for salt water. When you suffer a wound at home it is important to create a salt water solution to sterilise the wound. It is important however not to simply pour tap water into a jug and add salt to it. You need to boil a kettle to sterilise the water, let it cool to room temperature, and dissolve salt in it. Salt water is a simple way to clean a wound and will allow you to see the true extent of the damage.

Cover it up overnight

When caring for a wound it is important to have some wound care supplies in your first aid kit. Things such as bandages, scissors and tape are important bits of kit to have and will allow you to cover the wound overnight. Covering your wound for the first night will allow it to be protected against the elements and any bugs. You can then assess whether you are able to bandage it up to let it heal or if you need medical attention.

How To Properly Use Reusable Cotton Face Masks

Whether we like it or not, face masks have become a necessity. One can think of it as the new go-to accessories, but they also represent a layer of protection to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, as well as any other infectious diseases that are airborne.

Wearing a mask when you go out in public prevents your respiratory droplets from spreading in the air, but it also serves as a shield to prevent you from touching your mouth or nose with dirty hands. This limits the possibility of you or those around you getting the virus.

Surgical masks have been in shortage ever since the beginning of the pandemic, which is why they are better left for those in medical settings. Reusable cotton face masks can do the job just as well, plus they are good for the environment.

Here is how to properly choose, wear and clean a cotton face mask, to ensure it provides the same levels of protection every time you use it.

How to choose a mask

A simple online search will reveal thousands of mask options, but how do you know which one to choose? Consider organic cotton face masks, as they are made out of natural materials, allowing you to breathe easily and preventing moisture from forming inside the mask.

Make sure the mask fits snuggly over your face, allowing for easy breathing, but also ensuring it does not leave openings on the side of your face. If necessary, adjust ear bans or choose a mask with trying straps, which can be easily adjustable.

It is recommended you wash your face mask before the first use, to ensure it stays clean of bacteria and dirt.

How to properly wear a face mask

If purchasing a mask is easy, wearing it correctly is where most people struggle. Your mask should always cover your nose, mouth and chin, otherwise it is useless. Respiratory droplets don’t discriminate between mouths and noses, so only covering one of the two is like not wearing a mask at all.

Wash your hands before you put on your face mask, or use sanitizer to ensure your hands are clean. Only hold the mask by the straps, to avoid transferring any kind of bacteria onto the fabric. Check that you mask properly covers your nose and mouth, and don’t forget to pinch the metal nose clip to ensure you get a snug fit.

How to clean a cotton face mask

Cotton face masks are reusable, but this means you need to clean them on a regular basis. Worry not, because it’s not more complicated than washing your laundry. All you need to ensure of is that you use the highest possible water temperature suitable for this fabric. Some masks require air drying, so make sure you check before putting them in the dryer.

If you want to wash it by hand, make sure you use a sanitizer, such as bleach, to clean it. Because you won’t be using very hot water, you need to ensure germs are killed in a way, and sanitizers are the best method to do so.

Why Is Gardening Good for Mental Health?

Gardening adds years to your life and life to your years. Who said it? No one knows, but the meaning behind this quote is so deep it makes you get up from your coach and head to the garden to walk among the flowers and bathe under the sun rays.

And it’s not only this quote that encourages people to transform gardening into a hobby; research has also shown that spending time outdoors is good for the mind and body. When feeling stressed and anxious, having a walk outside the house immediately lifts your spirits. One productive way to spend time outdoors is to engage in gardening.

People are wired to enjoy being outside, and gardening offers them the opportunity to reconnect with nature. Gardening helps them come back to life and watch how it comes to life, something they planted with their own hands. It’s a personal experience that has numerous positive effects on their wellbeing.

Gardening reduces stress

Not surprisingly, spending time outdoors and engaging in a peaceful activity can release stress. There’s something special about feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin, touching the soil with your hands, and bringing something to life. As you sit in your garden, you see the flowers, vegetables, and trees growing, feel the breeze in your hair, and admire the clouds on their journey across the blue sky.

Whenever you feel stressed out, get out in the garden and just be there. There’s always something to catch your attention and take your mind away from your daily worries.

Gardening connects you to your world

Gardening encourages a connection to the world and other people who share the same passion. Sometimes you feel the connection with nature when you eat food you harvested. Other times you experience it when you exchange tricks and tips with another gardener.

Having a garden means caring for the environment, and this is why you should use only the best products like an organic liquid fertilizer that delivers zero toxins in the soil. Getting into gardening will make you more aware of the elements surrounding you, when the frost comes, how much rain the autumn brings, the average temperature in the summer, and where sunlight falls throughout the day. Gardening connects you with the world in an intimate way.

Gardening encourages physical exercise

Regular physical exercise can boost your mood and relieve anxiety. Gardening offers a wide range of opportunities to stay active. When you cannot go to the gym, work in the garden, and stay active.

Because gardening implies multiple activities, your body movements vary and imply few repetitions, so the injury risk is minimal. Only when you do the weeding around the flowers, you stay on your belly, side, butt, and put yourself in all the positions you’d do in a yoga class. Why pay for a membership when your backyard garden keeps you busy for hours? And should we also mention that a strong body supports a healthy mind?
