Bending Won’t Break You: How Life Teaches You to Lean

Image result for bamboo bending in windI am always flabbergasted by how easily we end up in the same place. And by that I mean, we can literally watch the days go by, our lives changing, our creations and manifestations coming to life, but at the same time, there’s a point you never quite notice that you somehow lose a bit of gratitude for it all…

And then, when you least expect it, life will always remind you why you always have something to be grateful for in each and every moment and the second you stop noticing that is the moment you turn away from who you really are. It’s almost as if you looked into a puddle and choose to live in the reflection rather than look away and come back to reality…

When things are going well for us, life can seem easy. We have great things to say, we feel good, our confidence might be high, etc. and while all of these things are of course affected heavily by many different variables as we are all different in habit and choices we make, overall when something “shitty” happens to any of us in the midst of all this goodness, it can honestly feel as if your entire world is crumbling down.

So, why IS it that life can’t be all smiles and rainbows? Believe it or not, this is actually a good thing. As I mentioned, it brings us back from the rippled reflection that can often desensitize us the little things and the immense significance they actually have in creating a real presence in our lives.

I know for me personally, the Universe always has its way of getting my attention and letting me know a big change is coming. First I feel it in my gut, then it seems as if everyone around me has literally lost their marbles or are different people. I simply cannot relate to them as I was once able to before. There has been a literal shift and I can feel myself moving onto something else. This energy and being sensitive to its arrival while not necessarily knowing WHAT changes are coming is often terrifying, but hey we learn to ride the waves or end up staring at those rippled reflections for the rest of our lives. LOL

I’ve come to trust that whenever a change like this occurs, no matter how big, scary and life-altering it might be, no matter how many questions it might bring up or potential anxiety attacks it could trigger, I do my best to keep my cool through meditation and yoga/pranic breathing practices. But ultimately, at the end of the day what keeps peace in my heart is the trust I have in the Universe and in love itself.

For each and everytime a huge, terrifying change has brought an end to one thing in my life, there has always been a much more awesome thing to fill its place showing up not too long afterward. And the stronger my trust and the less my worry, the quicker it seems to arrive. Now, I’m not saying being naive and sit on your ass and expect that new job, soulmate, good health, etc. to just show up and literally knock on your door (but hey, it could happen!), but I am saying to know in the deepest core of your heart that you deserve happiness and love in your life and that we are all supported on such levels that are beyond our comprehension sometimes. And when we can find it within ourselves to simply surrender and let go, we find that we are much stronger than we think and that which we thought would break us, merely bends and shapes us into a better version of who we once were.

Have a wonderful weekend and shoot for the freaking stars in all you do! You deserve it! 🙂
