By Daniel Firefly,Serve all beings as though you were serving Buddha or Christ, your mother or a saint. Serve and bow to them as the great spirit that they are, as your children and your elders, as the YOUniverse itself.
We are here to serve, and service alone will bring you true peace and joy. Serve and watch your small aches and pains dissolve in the great honor and pleasure of watching another feel better.
The paradox is that it is in giving that we can truly receive. Understand this and realize that being of service to the goodness in all is the key to fulfillment and unconditionally giving is where one finds true wealth. Give it away and be filled up with that pure joy.
Lift another and be lifted to heavens gates. Serve in joy and expect nothing in return and watch as a domino effect of universal support lights up the planet.
Thank you to all who serve the greatest good, honestly, with an open heart and a soul of gold. Shine the way home.
Below are some of my favorite quotes about serving others:
- “If you can’t do great things, Mother Teresa used to say, do little things with great love. If you can’t do them with great love, do them with a little love. If you can’t do them with a little love, do them anyway. Love grows when people serve.” ~John Ortberg
- “Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest right and doing it all for love.” ~St. Therese of Lisieux
- “The only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.” ~Albert Schweitzer
- “Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” ~Martin Luther King Jr.
- “When you find yourself in need of spiritual nourishment, it is in the opportunities to serve others that you will find the abundance you seek.” ~Steve Marabol
- “Keep a clear eye toward life’s end. Do not forget your purpose and destiny as God’s creature. What you are in his sight is what you are and nothing more. Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take nothing that you have received…but only what you have given; a full heart enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice, and courage.” ~Francis of Assisi
- “Serve always with the feeling that one is serving the supreme being.” ~Anandamayi Ma
