People across the world will witness the final Lunar Eclipse of 2020 on November 30 — a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse. During a penumbral lunar eclipse, the Earth blocks a portion of the Sun’s light from reaching the Moon, with only the outer part of the Earth’s shadow (called the ‘penumbra’) covering all or part of the Moon. Since the penumbra shadow is faint, this eclipse is harder to spot. However, very observant people will be able to detect a dark shading on the moon’s face.
