Have you ever thought about how to gain inner harmony and learn to enjoy life and relationship? Of course, building a healthy relationship is a work for two, but there are several things that you can do yourself, without involving your partner. Try to follow these tips, and soon, you will notice the positive changes. Being happy is easier than you think.

1) Do good things

True happiness brings positive feelings that, in their turn, come from the best features of our character. Good deeds always bring you satisfaction and joy, which doesn’t happen if you do something only for your own pleasure. When you show the most worthy qualities, life takes on real meaning.

2) Develop creativity

In 2010, the Journal of Public Health published the results of a study, in which scientists examined the data from more than 100 experiments on the effects of art on human health. It turned out that participation in therapeutic programs related to creativity (painting, writing, and music) helps reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and negative emotions. Moreover, it contributes to the development of speech skills and the ability to express your thoughts clearly and increases your self-esteem.

3) Give yourself a break from gadgets at least once a month

Turn off your phone, laptop, tablet, and TV for the next weekend. Don’t listen to the news, don’t check your mail, and don’t answer the calls. Spend a couple of days without digital technologies. Go for a walk in the afternoon, pay your relatives a visit, or go see a movie. Spend the evening playing table games or reading books. After the weekend spent in the information detox mode, you will feel full of energy.

When in daily life you use the same gadgets and apps as at the office, both the body and the subconscious perceive this as working process. Have a small vacation. You will appreciate the anti-stress effect of it. Two days without the flow of negative news is enough to perk up and get rid of the feeling that you’re stuck in the Groundhog Day.

4) Meet with friends more often

The quality and quantity of contacts with other people affect the physical health, mood, and ability to achieve success. In the modern world, people are used to keeping a distance from others because with the fast-paced rhythm or life leaves no time for good old real-life communication. In fact, as numerous studies have shown, the lack of social support can lead to stresses and even various physical diseases, from blockage of arteries to cancer.

5) Stop mentally evaluating yourself and others

Have a feeling that people are hypocritical or communicate with you only because they don’t know you well? The reason is that you are accustomed to evaluating others and compare yourself with them. Perhaps, unconsciously, you exclude someone from your ‘circle of favorites,’ but deep inside, you are afraid to be in this person's place one day. Often, the roots of this problem come from childhood. Maybe your parents often used to ask you why you were not as obedient and diligent as your neighbors’ kid or something like that. It seemed to you that you really should compete with someone and become better than others. Then you grew up and got into a hypercompetitive society where almost all people judge each other all the time. And this led to a chronic fear of being rejected.

To get out of the vicious circle, watch your judgments. Once you notice that you start to evaluate others, stop the flow of thoughts right away. Remember: this is just a habit of your brain which you need to get rid of. Try to be friendlier to people and yourself.

6) Workout

Physical exercises improve brain function and health. And it's also an excellent antidepressant. Physical exercises make us happy, as they cause a rush of endorphin. And this is a serious reason to start visiting the gym. Workout every day, but try not to overexert yourself.

7) Try to sleep more

One of the most effective ways to improve your mood and clarity of consciousness is to sleep at least eight hours a day. Most likely, the modern rhythm of life makes you puzzle over how to find an extra couple of hours for sleep. But here's the trick: the faster and more efficiently you cope with the tasks, the more job you eventually have. If you slow down and allocate extra time for sleep, you will find that the amount of work you have to do has become much smaller, and some problems you didn’t want to address have disappeared by themselves. In addition, very soon, you will realize that thanks to the 8-hour night rest, your productivity has increased, and you started to get more pleasure from what you are doing.

8) Talk less with those, who make you nervous

Even if you have to see relatives or colleagues who are annoying you from day to day, you should still try to contact them as rarely as possible. No need to become a hermit: just spend more time with people who give you a sense of peace. When communicating with others, assess the degree of your irritation on a scale from 1 to 10. If you feel that you are reaching 5, try to end the conversation and leave.

9) Get rid of perfectionism

Striving for perfection, we bring ourselves to exhaustion, destroy our health, relationships, and careers. Perfectionists measure their significance by unattainable goals, so they constantly feel that they fall short. It's unlikely that you will be able to fully enjoy life if a disgusting inner critic constantly judges you. So stop waiting for the perfect result and learn to be proud of your successes even if they seem insignificant to you.

10) Read more

Scientists at the University of Sussex claim that reading reduces the level of nervous tension by 68%. In the course of the experiment, researchers created stressful situations for people and then tried to comfort the subjects. Books helped the participants even better than their favorite music, a cup of tea, or a walk in the fresh air. After six minutes of reading, subjects’ muscles relaxed, and the pulse slowed down.

Only after you find peace with yourself, you can build a happy union with your loved one. In case you are looking for more relationship advice, feel free to check the blog at https://bridesstars.com/.
