Ways to Save Brokerage While Renting a PG Accommodation in Pune

Posted by on September 15, 2020 in Stuff with 0 Comments

There are many people who migrate to the city of Pune in order to give wings to their aspirations and goals. The city is one of the favorite destinations for migrants as it is home to several leading educational institutions and multinational companies. The pleasant weather in the city is also another factor that attracts people from across the country. There are several options for accommodation that cater to students and young professionals. There are several PGs in Pune along with a number of professionally managed accommodation providers like Stanza Living.

To get a PG accommodation in Pune, one must reach out to local real estate brokers who are in the know of available accommodation in the locality. However, they charge exorbitant amounts of money as brokerage which is non-refundable. A word of caution for newcomers to the city – read the rent agreement provided by brokers carefully so that you can avoid pitfalls at a later stage.

There are, however, other ways in which you can save yourself from paying brokerage. Let’s look at some of them:

Don’t Hunt for Local Brokers

Looking for a broker is not an easy job and you have to look for a broker in the area you have decided to live in.  You have to be careful not to be taken in by glib talking brokers. Brokers charge a minimum fee of 50-100% of the monthly rental amount. However, the brokers ensure that there is a rent agreement, which you of course will have to go through thoroughly, so that you are not in trouble at a later date and the landlord cannot unduly trouble you. All these are added to their brokerage bill. They charge brokerage from both you and the landlord.

Use Personal Contacts

Another way is to use your local contacts, be it friends or family. Contact them and request them to help you with getting the best PGs or Hostels in Pune. Having lived in the city they will be in a better position to help you. Let them know your preferences in terms of the locality where you wish to live and the budget. In fact, it would be a good idea if you contact your friends or relatives before moving into the city so that it saves you both time and energy in looking for PG accommodation.

Use Social Media to your Advantage

The use of social media platforms like Facebook amongst others have made finding PG accommodation simpler.  You can post your prerequisites like budget and the area you are looking at and get a speedy reaction within a couple of hours. (quick tip: Keep checking your Other Messages segment on Facebook to check whether you got any close to personal reaction). Twitter can be useful as well; with the correct number of retweets, you can connect with endless individuals who are appearing to be identical.

Choose Managed Accommodation

Another good idea would be to go online and reach out to professionally managed accommodation providers directly through their website or social channels, thereby saving you the headache of going through a broker or spending numerous hours trying to figure it out yourself. The concept of managed accommodation is fast becoming a favorite amongst the millennials. These accommodations are fully equipped with large interactive common areas and have all the modern amenities including complete security and last but not least there is no brokerage. There are several professionally managed properties in the market, amongst whom Stanza Living is the largest, most popular one with excellent offerings – they have properties in all the popular localities in Pune. You can just go to their website to browse through all their properties in Pune along with the amenities offered in each – and pre-book your bed with them right away.
