Tips to Limit Exposure to EMFs When Using Your Phone

Written by on March 7, 2019 in Environmental Hazards with 0 Comments

Your phone produces electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation that could be dangerous to your health. If exposed repeatedly over time, it could lead to brain damage or cancer. However, since you are using your phone all the time, it is quite impossible to get rid of the device. The best that you can do is to stay protected even when using the phone. Remember these tips to limit exposure to EMF and prevent negative health impacts.

Carry your phone away from the body

Limit the number of hours when using the phone. When not in use, keep your phone in your bag. You could also buy a protective purse to hold the phone. When you sleep, you should turn your phone off. Avoid sleeping next to the device.

Text instead of call if possible

If you text, you do not bring the phone too close to your body. Sometimes, you need to call the people you love or work with for essential reasons. Other than that, you might want to settle for texting. If you really need to call someone, you can use a headphone to keep the device away from your head.

Do not use your phone when the signal is weak

When the signal is terrible, it means that your phone will try its best to find a stronger signal. In the process, it could release more radiation. Avoid calling or browsing the net when it happens. You can resume the use of the device if the signal gets better.

When the phone is hot, do not use it

Sometimes, phones overheat because of constant use. It is also a sign that it is releasing too much radiation. Therefore, you need to give it a rest. Charge it first or turn it off. You can use it again after an hour or so.

Do not use the phone when driving

Apart from the adverse effects due to radiation, you are also putting your safety at risk when you use your phone when driving. Other than using the device for GPS navigation, you need to stop using it. Driving could be one of the rarest moments during the day when you do not use your phone.

Find a phone with a low SAR

SAR stands for Specific Absorption Rate. You can ask the phone seller about it. You can also read the packaging to determine if the SAR is high or low.

Use protective devices

You can use an EMF protection device if you want to block radiation from affecting your body. It does not cost a lot. You can wear it like you wear other fashion accessories. You can also keep it in your bag if you do not want to wear it. Your kids can also have them if you allow them to use their phones.

Again, it is impossible not to use your phone at all. However, you can take the necessary steps to stay protected. You need to act now before it is too late. Even if you do not believe that phones could cause radiation-related illnesses, there is nothing wrong with taking precautions.
