Earlier today I read an article by a fellow “conscious community” writer which reminded me that no matter how “conscious” one can claim to be, that when the ego is left holding the pen, what should be outwardly presented as an opinion piece, can and will without hesitation be posted as well-researched facts, when they are anything but…
Normally this would just piss me off and I’d unfollow them presuming that yet another “good” one has been lost to the ethers of the egoic mind of many self-made internet “gurus”. But this topic was personal to me and one I have almost 20 years experience with, so when I felt the need to reach out and correct the author on some false claims, I most certainly did not expect censorship or the ultimate hypocrisy of deleting comments that did nothing more than provide actual facts where previously misinformed opinions had been.
I have been a Reiki Master Teacher since 2001 and the following are some of the basic, key things one learns while becoming a Reiki practitioner:
- Reiki practice channels a subtle energy that cannot be used to cause harm. As in it is impossible!!! The actual energy used in healing practice is accessible to each and every one of us at any time and we are ALL naturally born touch healers. Reiki is simply one MODALITY, one set of tools and techniques used to access this universal healing energy.
- Therefore, we are never using our OWN energy to heal, nor are we even doing any of the actual healing ourselves. We are merely vessels, conduits, channels for the energy to run through, but again, just as we do not need a priest to talk to God, you do not need me to access the healing energy of Source Consciousness. I have simply studied, learned and Mastered one technique to connect to and channel it to others.
- We receive healings ourselves when we are working on other people and this again is because we are receiving the same healing energy as it passes through us to our client. Reiki goes to where it is needed and a person cannot receive “too much” or for “too long” because once the body stops pulling the energy, Reiki simply stops flowing. In other words, it will only flow to WHERE it’s needed and for HOW LONG.
- We cannot interfere with another person’s karma or life process. Reiki can and will only move energy the person is ready to let go of and that in itself is a very personal process. Reiki energy literally will not flow if the person is resisting in any way, or is not ready to release a particular block, if the purpose has not yet been completed, served, etc. as far as it pertains to the person’s life purpose and personal karma.
- If we or our client feels “crappy” after a session there can be multiple reasons. Most likely, as with most purging, releasing, letting go, etc. it is not a necessarily pleasant experience and we often go through what can feel like an energetic cleanse if we actually did let go of a lot of blocks, past trauma, etc. during a Reiki session. Usually, after a few days, we feel much better as is reflected in the effects of many other personal “cleanses”, once our system has rebalanced and centered.
So, there we go. I had to read claims that Reiki can actually hurt people, that we as practitioners MUST be able to direct the energy, turn it off/on, etc. as to avoid “putting our own crap on them” when that completely is FALSE and actually only shows a complete lack of understanding of Reiki since this energy does NOT need direction, CANNOT be “overdone” and actually has little to do what “we” want it to do or what is going on with us personally.
This is my heartfelt response to what I know to be true about Reiki from my actual experience being a Reiki Master Teacher for so many years. And in that experience of working with so many people over the years, I am yet to take on someone else’s karma nor they mine. In fact, I play more of an observer role, watching the beautiful conversation of energies taking place and just being there to moderate as necessary.
What is so amazing about this energy, is that it only moves what people have already consciously let go of. And with that knowledge in my heart, I consciously let go of the need to be heard by someone so obviously STUCK in the matrix as opposed to claiming to want to help us all find the “exit”.
