While this isn’t a topic I often write about, it is one close to my heart as well as one in which I feel is long overdue an acknowledgment. What I’ve learned in my 40 years on this Earth is that when people feel empowered, rely on their inner-voice and intuition (dare I say “animal instincts”?), and understand that all illness and disease have root causes, they are predictably more likely to overcome an illness, to heal a disease, and to even progress significantly in their lives.
It makes me smile to see that within my lifetime, the so-called “healthcare” industry is re-opening the doors to Eastern Medicine, Aboriginal ways, and holistic methods of treating wounds, whether they be physical, emotional, mental or spiritual.
It has always confused me to know that the worlds of science and spirituality are at odds with one another. And the more I learned in each area, the more baffled I became. It was crystal clear to me that the questions in which science has been asking can often be answered by theosophical means, and vice versa.
When I began to merge and incorporate habits and beliefs from both realms, I also began to make significant connections to how the Universe itself performs the undeniable magic via forms and forces of energy and electromagnetism. The mathematical symmetry found everywhere in nature (the Fibonacci Spiral and Phi Ratio) proves to be as scientifically fascinating in its infinite structure as much as it is divinely breath-taking.
The patterns and forms found in every crevice of reality follow a universal rule of creation, nature, and growth. I honestly believe that this is why there isn’t one person who could deny the innately curious draw to nature. In some form or another, we all seem to reach for the forces of nature to which we can dance, create and reset our mental woes.
“You have to take seriously the notion that understanding the Universe is your responsibility. The only understanding of the Universe that will be useful to you is your own understanding.” – Terence McKenna
It’s no wonder that the most effective remedies to date (in my humble opinion and experience) remain to be found within holistic, and often ancient techniques including herbalism (oils, salves, tinctures, etc.), the harnessing of Chi or “Ki” energy to literally pull or repel people, experiences, etc. into or out of our lives.
I’ve been a Reiki Master for almost 20 years now. And while I can appreciate the man-made medicine undertones and history which lies beneath the corporate pharmacy, also know as “Big Pharma”, within the last 100 years, our so-called Hippocratic Oath has become a laughing stock of what it was upon its conception.
Nowadays, it is not uncommon for physicians to prescribe medications that are unneeded or dangerous simply to make a quota which moves them closer to that bonus and all expenses paid vacations. When did the true will of conscious humanity and healthcare get so “diseased” within itself, that the focus has been less on bettering the system, and more so on building the system into a profit-driven public nightmare?
I am happy to report that there are growing numbers of natural and holistic medicine coming back into social normality. With the rising number of states legalizing cannabis to the acceptance of hallucinogenic plants such as psilocybin mushrooms and ayahuasca tea to assist with depression, anxiety and PTSD, we continue to see “the ancient, alchemical ways” rushing back into the mainstream.
I will continue to have hope that with each passing year, that more and more holistic techniques are studied, performed and offered a place in what used to be a system focused on bettering and empowering people to take back their health. While the focus had shifted for many decades, it is ignorant to deny that if we ignore what nature has provided us, then we will eventually hear the resentment and regrets of our future generations.
Always remember that you are more powerful than you have ever been taught and that we are not slaves to our genetics. With more understanding of human stem cells due to the rise of Epigenetics, we can now admit that it is our actual thoughts, beliefs, and reactions to our environments that have the most effect on our bodies (physical, mental, energetic and spiritual) on the most Quantum, cellular level.
Have a healthy weekend, everyone! 🙂
