What Are the Benefits of Coaching Over Phone or Video?

Posted by on April 15, 2020 in Stuff with 0 Comments

Life coaches primarily depend on face to face coaching sessions, and some might also be open to phone coaching if need be. However, life coaching by Dee Ann Higgins is an exception who believes that phone coaching is the most preferred option, especially with the need for social distancing that has now become a way of life as we learn to deal with the Corona virus pandemic. It has become clear that life coaches will now have to consider phone coaching as mainstream with face to face coaching an option only if very much needed.

Talking face to face seems more effective as it is easier to get the full picture of the client by not only listening to them but also by reading their body language. Since not all clients are computer savvy or techno-savvy, physical interaction makes them feel more comfortable, especially if your client is elderly and attained superannuation. However, a better option could be phone coaching, which does not involve any technicalities and is more acceptable to people of all ages.

In this article, we will discuss the benefits of phone coaching.

Deep connections

The quality of communication is essential in life coaching. Many coaches have been able to connect deeply with their clients over the phone and as much effectively as talking to them across the table. Some coaches have successfully coached their clients without ever meeting them in person. It often turns out that clients are more comfortable speaking over the phone than sitting on the other side of the table as they feel safer and far more convenient to open their hearts and speak in much more detail about the issues they are facing.

Expand the client base

By using the phone and video coaching, the reach of coaches becomes infinite as geographical locations do not matter, and they can coach any person across the world. Also, coaches enjoy more flexibility as they do not have to remain confined to any one place to coach people.  It gives them the option to practice even if they shift their base or go for an extended vacation as they can use the phone or video to stay in touch with clients.

Saves time and money

Coaching over phone or video, which many term, as remote coaching is a great time saver. The session timings are under complete control and can be adjusted to suit the needs of both the coach and client.  Coaching can happen from an informal setting like a home that saves the cost of creating any office-like infrastructure as you can save on rent as well as travel costs.

One of the advantages of phone coaching is flexi-hours of sessions, which makes it more comfortable for clients as sessions can take place at any time of the day, which ensures that there are no missed sessions.  Having a chair, a desk, and a telephone headset is all that you need to set up the session that is as effective as any physical interaction.
