Mars in Virgo Opposes Saturn in Pisces: Strength, Stamina & Delays
In August, Mars transits the sign of Virgo and opposes Saturn in Pisces. That gives lessons of strength, neutrality, and stamina. We may also experience a few delays and frustrations along the way.
Two benefic planets, Venus and Jupiter, now travel together in Gemini. Retrograde Mercury in Cancer goes direct on August 11. Mid-month, the Sun begins its yearly transit through its own sign of Leo.
Mars Opposes Saturn: Push, Pull & Patience
Mars, planet of action, recently began its transit through the earth sign of Virgo on July 28, 2025, and will remain there until September 13, 2025.
While in Virgo, Mars opposes Saturn transiting the water sign of Pisces, with the exact opposition happening at 7 degrees Virgo/Pisces on August 8 and 9, 2025. The Saturn influence can help temper impatient Mars.
The Saturn/Mars aspect can generate a push/pull energy, so at times you move forward, and then later may experience a temporary setback. These two planets are “enemies” to each other, so watch for increased volatility and frustrations rising around this time.
Mars wants immediate action and self-expression, and Saturn can restrict or delay the assertive energies of Mars—a planet that does not like being held back.
Watch for possible amplification of anger that triggers impulsive decisions that you later regret. Refusing to change or shift one’s views out of fear or anxiety is possible.
Mars + Saturn Energy: Rise With Discipline
But if motivated by pure intention and strong will, we can rise above any Saturn/Mars barriers with greater understanding and vision. On the positive, Mars brings courage, enthusiasm, and strength.
Along with Saturn’s sense of self-discipline, awareness, and responsibility, this helps us focus on our authentic goals in life with great purpose.
Find healthy outlets for this excessive buildup of Saturn/Mars energies—with physical activity like yoga or tai chi, or even through creative arts.

Saturn Retrograde: Reclaim Hidden Strengths
Remember that the highest expression of Saturn is to help create balance and equanimity in our lives in a neutral, peaceful way. Saturn is also retrograde until November 27, 2025, so it is a time to uncover and appreciate your hidden strengths.
Don’t be too critical of yourself during this period. Let go of old energies that have become a burden while building a new, more genuine foundation in your life.
Venus + Jupiter in Gemini: Prosperity & Education
Venus, planet of relationships and creativity, entered the air sign of Gemini the evening of July 26, 2025, and joined expansive Jupiter there.
On August 11, 2025, two benefic planets, Venus and Jupiter, will conjunct exactly at 19 degrees Gemini. These two “teacher” planets can generate greater interest in schools and education, which is an important focus at this time.
Also, Jupiter and Venus are planets of prosperity, so finances and how we earn a living are big themes too.
When Jupiter and Venus influence each other, we can yearn for good relationships, comfort, and pleasure. But watch for over-indulgence or expecting too much.
Humanitarian work, devotional practices, and being generous and kind to others are positive remedies. Venus remains in Gemini with Jupiter until August 20, 2025.
Mercury Direct in Cancer: Mental Clarity Returns
Mercury, planet of the intellect and communications, retrograde since July 17, now goes direct at 10 degrees Cancer in the very early morning hours on August 11, 2025.
Gradually, we experience more ease and clarity in all our communications and business transactions. We feel more mental clarity and find it easier to make decisions.
Sun in Leo: Radiant Self-Expression & Vitality
The Sun transits its own sign of Leo from August 17 until September 16, 2025, and brings a great need for self-empowerment and recognition.
The Sun in Leo likes to be in charge and increases our personal ambitions and desire for self-expression and creativity. We may feel more generous and warm-hearted.
The Sun in Leo, a fixed sign, can be very vital, powerful, and also values loyalty. We are learning to soften our pride and accept criticism. We could experience more dramatic events too, as the Sun in Leo likes to be noticed!
Work with integrity, demonstrate proper leadership skills with equanimity, and advocate for worthy causes are good remedies. Meditation and spending quiet time in nature are also ways we can balance the Leo energies.
