Tomorrow’s full Hunter’s Moon (October 13th) will prove to be an ideal time to gather your thoughts and release those of them that are no longer serving you in a positive way. Full Moon energy is an expansive, transformational one that lays the foundation for future creations and manifestations. What we do during this time can greatly advance us on our path of abundance.
Thoughts are things and contain energy powered by your emotions and intentions. Positive thoughts about ourselves can propel us into greatness, growth, and empowerment. This is why you often hear in the Spiritual community to “Be Positive” so often. And while the term in itself has been watered down by ego and expectations, it still rings true when it comes to being a vital piece of manifesting joy into your life.
This is not to say we must fake our feelings or push down any emotion that is not necessarily positive, but rather the complete opposite. We must allow our feelings (good or bad) to surface and be acknowledged by our conscious minds. And weeding through our emotions and feelings provides an accurate stance on what is working or not working for you in life. It’s just a matter of listening and then applying “objective ownership” over anything that may surface.
It’s no that we want to deny anything that may not feel good, but rather go in with the courage to face it, and ultimately release it if it’s been causing undue pain, stress or confusion. Self-care is just as if not more important than our need to care for others. As the saying goes, “You cannot pour from an empty cup.”
The Full Moon is the ideal time to get real with yourself and where you’d like to see yourself headed in the future. It’s an energy that brings awareness of how tightly we’ve been holding onto things and reminds us that true peace brings relaxation and joy, not tension and worry.
My personal Full Moon ritual consists of giving myself the time and space to listen, to observe and to get clear on things. I intentionally set in motion a clearing of anything stagnant in my world whether it be a constant need to criticize myself and instead be more patient or to finally get started on something I’ve been putting off and not making time for.
We all know how good it feels to know you are cared for, whether it be by your significant other, a friend or relative or simply someone who goes out of their way to show appreciation. That could take the form of that little old lady you helped carry groceries for, or the hungry man who was able to eat because of your kindness.
When the ego gets out of the way, you’d be amazed how selfless giving can act as a catalyst to reconnecting to the loving bond between all of humanity. In today’s day and age with all it’s reality TV and drama in the White House, it can make it quite difficult to focus on the underlying connection we all share. In fact, if we don’t pay attention we may never even notice how pretty much every corner of politics and fame are corrupted with the push to believe we are less than or greater than our fellow man, based on frivolous, petty and indoctrinated beliefs of a hierarchy that only exists in our minds.
Which brings us back to the importance of self-care and the sacred spaces you create within your own body, mind, and soul as well as on your yoga mat. Joy comes in many forms to many different people and perhaps the greatest advice I could give is to never lose touch with what brings you joy and to always, always, always follow your bliss.
While the New Moon sets the stage for reining in our desires, intentions, and manifestations, the Full Moon provides us an empty canvas as to which we can paint our gameplan. Knowing the difference between the energies is not vital to any manifestational magic, however, it does help to ignite and set into motion your hopes and visions for the future. We cannot create a life we do not believe in, so make sure you believe in yourself and your capabilities and honor your place as a conscious creator.
No matter what religious, philosophical or esoteric dogmas you relate to, we are all part of the same boat of creative, cosmic energy. And just like a driver with great vision and confidence is more likely to cross the finish line, the more willing we are to open our eyes and hearts to the magic found in every crevice of nature, the more empowered and aligned we are to manifest exactly what we intended in our lives.
That is true power and control, neither of which are coming from the egoic mind. For once you’ve added separation to the mix of your intentions, the energy weakens. Yet, when we manifest from the heart with true intentions for the greater good, we harness an energy so pure, so powerful and so influential to positive change that we may doubt we ever had anything to do with it.
Know thyself. Trust thyself. Love thyself. Then manifest the magic within waiting to compel thyself into greatness. And never forget that if we are feeling alone or empty, there is no greater energy to feed upon than that of the Harvest Full Moon.
Happy Manifesting, everyone!
