I read a quote the other day, it went something like this:
“Not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear you path”
There is so much truth in that if only we could have the clarity of thought to see it that way when we're in the eye of the storm.
Life's Little Reminders
Things, in hindsight, always become clearer. It's that one day that you suddenly wake up to realize that if that (fill in the blank) didn't happen, you'd be stuck (fill in the blank).
And if these ‘storms' don't come to blast a clear passage, you can get awfully stuck in your comfort zone and never push yourself beyond to where your soul longs to be. Read related article: Comfort Zones: The Beauty of Awkward and Uncomfortable
Life's trials will never cease to be there, it's your perspective and how you choose to see and handle it that must change in order for you to be genuinely happy.
If you can — when things seem really bad — see it with new eyes, perhaps you can let go of the situation/person more readily. If you can face life's obstacles with a knowing that anything that comes into your life to disrupt is there for a reason and, in my experience, that reason is always growth and a situation that leads to something even better.
I have, in many circumstances where I would have normally thrown my toys way out of my cot, applied this concept of future projecting a positive outcome (just remember that the antithesis — worry — is future projecting a negative outcome) with absolute success. I know I'm the only one who can make me happy.
In the middle of a hurricane, know that you have every ability to turn it around into something you can learn and grow from.
