In the above video, Mark Passio describes the lesser known eighth principle of natural law (the Hermetic Principles) that govern our reality: the “lost” generative principle, which is CARE. (Also watch below the video in which Mark describes the better-known 7 Hermetic principles.)

Here are some key insights from the above video:
- The generative principle is the causal factor that governs creation and generates the desired result, often misunderstood by most people.
- The generative principle is care, which is different from compassion or even love, and it is described with a capital C to distinguish it from care with a lowercase C.
- What you focus on and give attention to is ultimately what gets generated and grows, it's not about ignoring the negative but being mindful of what you're feeding.
- Care comes first, you've got to care enough to develop the knowledge, then you've got to act on it and put it into practice.
- The heart is the generator, providing energy and moving the life force through the body, ultimately determining our shared experience.
- What we care enough to put our will behind is ultimately driven by the care, which is the generator or the pump that drives the will.
- The world is the way it is because most people do not care enough to change it through their actions, despite saying they want things to be different.
The 7 Hermetic Principles
The 7 Hermetic principles are the foundational laws of Hermeticism, a spiritual and philosophical tradition attributed to Hermes Trismegistus. They are outlined in the book “The Kybalion” and are as follows:
1. The principle of mentalism: “The All is Mind; the Universe is Mental.”
2. The principle of correspondence: “As above, so below; as below, so above.”
3. The principle of vibration: “Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.”
4. The principle of polarity: “Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”
5. The principle of rhythm: “Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.”
6. The principle of cause and effect: “Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause; everything happens according to law; chance is but a name for law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the law.”
7. The principle of gender: “Gender is in everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles; gender manifests on all planes.”
These principles govern the nature of reality and can be applied to understand the universe and one's place in it[1][2][4].
