The Super Bowl is one of the most watched and celebrated sporting events of all time. In 2018, the Super Bowl was watched by over 111.4 million people, with just about every bar around the country tuning in. If you’re a football fan, having a good Super Bowl experience is something you look forward to just about all year long. It’s especially important to be in a great atmosphere when it’s your team competing for the greatest prize in all of football.
The two cities whose teams are in the final match are always the craziest places to watch the Super Bowl from. Take the 2018 Super Bowl for example, after the Eagles beat the patriots, Philadelphia fans were literally rioting in the streets. Choosing your game-watching spot wisely and ahead of time is a great way to maximize the experience you’re trying to have. Some people have to sit in their recliner with their team’s jersey on with little to no distractions around them. Others would rather tailgate in the parking lot and watch the game on a jumbo screen amongst thousands of other drunken fans. It’s all about preference, so why not start thinking about it months in advance, right?
Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, GA)
The 2019 Super Bowl is scheduled to be hosted by Atlanta at their new Mercedes-Benz stadium. There’s no better place to watch the game being played than live and in person. While there’s no way to know which two teams are going to be playing in that final game, if it ends up being your team, there’s no better place to watch it all go down. Ticket prices can get up there, not to mention flights and hotel expenses, but it might be the opportunity of a life time.
Sonny McLean’s (Santa Monica, CA)
This bar is very well-known for being the hot spot for watching football games in Santa Monica. It’s one of the best Irish Pubs in the area and offers specials on their homemade foods like fish and chips, fried clams, and other bar foods. With 40 beers and ciders on tap, you’re bound to find something you like to drink while watching the Super Bowl on their 32 flat screen TVs.
Humbolt & Jackson (NYC)
At this New York City bar, it’s all about the sports, beer and food. Historically they charge an admission fee of $20, which comes with all-you-can-eat wings and a wing-eating contest you can sign up for if you think you have any room left. Known for its sports and private events, this Brooklyn bar is the place to be when viewing the big game.
Your own home
Throwing a killer Super Bowl party might be the highlight of your year (especially if you’re betting on the winner). You want to make sure you have the best TV you can have, so plan ahead. If you have enough time, you can even buy a Mirror TV that’s stylish and practical. Food, beer, and a solid cable connection are key to throwing the best party on the block.
The BeerMongers (Portland, OR)
This bar throws an annual Potluck for every Super Bowl no matter which teams are playing in the game. They also round up all the beer local to the playing teams cities and serve them for the special event. Every guests brings a platter of food to share and will be judged upon by a panel of judges later on in the night. This is one of the most unique experiences you’re going to find in the Portland area!
No matter where you end up watching the 2019 Super Bowl, the most important part is good food, plenty of drinks, and awesome company. If you have that, you have everything. Check out the bars near you, most run specials and exciting events for the big game.
