June Overview
Last month Lady Ga Ga stole the show at ‘The Met Ball’ and many went a little gaga when the new British Royal offspring was born! While in astrological circles, events were strikingly similar, as we too ‘met the Bull’, with Planets progressing through Taurus and went abuzz, due to the influence of Uranus now in Taurus. However, the Sun in the skies above gave birth not to one, but to twins instead, as the brightest star in the sky moved into the twofold Sign of Gemini, the ‘dual’ in the crown or perhaps a ‘twin-set and pearls’!
Well, as many with twins will probably tell us it is hard to know if you are coming or going, with one wanting one thing and the other another! So, the month of June begins much the same way, as this dual Sign seems something of a duel sign as June opens, making it difficult to bring any cohesion to issues, especially concerning the UK Conservative party leadership and ‘Brexit’. So much like a duel, this month it may not be quite a case of taking ten paces, but there is a need to count to ten and pace yourself, and compromise where necessary to avoid any ‘dangerous liaisons’!
Though on the plus side, Air sign, Gemini, lives and breathes through their interactions with others, and their mercurial nature means they are more than capable of getting others to see their way of thinking. However, the downside of this is they may not be thinking this way for too long, as there can be little consistency during Gemini dominated periods of time, as like a butterfly, as ideas can flit from one to the next. However, what is set in stone, is often a ‘gem’ of an idea or ‘pearl of wisdom’ and Gemini energy with its quick-thinking nature can all help us to be more fleet footed. But this Sign is naturally of two minds, and this flexibility can seem more negatively at times. This being particularly apt in the current political climate, as the trying to be ‘all things to all people’ sentiment ends up being no things to no one in-particular.
However, this could be called into question this month, as a New Moon in Gemini on the 3rd, brings a new sense of hope and vision for the ‘future’ or you could say ‘Eurovision’ as ‘London is calling’ illuminated by the Moon. This being the forerunner to Prime Minster May’s stepping down from her post and a new leadership contest. Whilst, it is accompanied by the Gemini Sun, along with Mercury reaching the end of its stint in this Air Sign, as it emphasises local surroundings and daily routines. As well as initiating new methods of travel, especially regarding green transport, and focussing its attention on early year’s education and the general wellbeing of youngsters.
Although, this is not without opposition, as Jupiter remains retrograde and opposed at times by both the Sun and Venus, and potentially creating anarchy as it joins the Full Moon on the 17th, stressing unfair and unjust inequalities. Money can be the issue with Venus, which advances into Gemini from the 9th, and is in conflict with Pisces Neptune now also turning retrograde, as a lack of clarity regarding fiscal matters becomes apparent. While, erratic weather conditions already manifesting in the US with twin tornadoes and floods continue and incidents involving uncontainable substances and unruly seas are likely, along with further occurrences concerning foreign migrants and the following financial implications causing disagreements.
Concerns over finance can be a theme all month, due to the month kicking off with Venus and Uranus united in Taurus, highlighting areas of personal wealth, property, valuables and outdated policy and taxation issues. These leaves some individuals undergoing ‘daylight robbery’ of sorts, experiencing unexpected high debt levels this month, due to them not having previously calculated for these expenditures. Whereas, others have been reaping the benefits up until now, but with all Outer Planets set to retrograde position this month, along with Jupiter, luck may no longer be on their side.
For widespread changes which have far-reaching, long-term societal effects, are evident when outer planets are featured in the equation, this made even greater by Jupiter’s presence. However, the fact that June sees these planets all go in backward motion, means that previous actions and decisions now need re-visiting and re-adjusting in order to benefit future generations, whether it be top down from government and institutions or from the grass-roots up from the collective people on the ground. There is a climate of change appropriately fixated amongst other issues on climate change and our changing political climate, as protests and revolts seem likely.
The weight of this necessity for transformation, enforced by the karmic Moon’s Nodes, is akin to the enduring dragon in the ‘GOT’ finale, this month the Dragon’s head is breathing fire on our equivalent ‘Iron throne’. For all month, fiery Mars finds itself in Cancer ‘burning the home fires’, as there is communal dissatisfaction and distrust with the powers and laws that be, and their ‘bag of many faces’, ramped up by everyday Mercury moving into Cancer from the 5th until the 27th, and the Sun joining them from the 22nd. This combination opposing the Capricorn South Node and a retrograde Pluto and Saturn, thwarting progress, as this Dragon finds itself chasing its tail somewhat, circling back on insufficient past endeavours.
This bringing the tide of change this month, quite literally in fact, as watery Cancer governs the ebb and flow of the sea and the Moon’s patterns, as well as a shared sea change. Though, with difficult planets this month, flighty Gemini may feel like ‘the butterfly on the wheel’ attempting to press forward. However, this June you may not be able to ‘reinvent the wheel’, but with united Cancer planets, there is a reinvention of the will of the people.
