Mediumship is one of the most sought after psychic gifts people seek to develop for themselves. Mediumship is the ability to connect with non-physical beings such as: spirit guides, crossed over spirits, and angels. We all have the ability to connect to the other side. For some, it is easier to make a healthy connection with the deceased than others. Developing and improving your mediumship abilities to is something that everyone can do with the proper training and guidance.Below are some of my suggestions on how you can safely and effectively improve your mediumship abilities:
- Please be aware that you are not in control of who or what comes through during a session. Do not be too attached with making a connection to a specific person. If it is for the highest and best good of all, then there will be a message and a connection.
- Be sure to keep your vibration high and your energy clear by keeping a regular meditation practice, clearing the space (saging) and being in a healthy frame of mind (absolutely no drugs, alcohol) during any spiritual work.
- Your motives to connect to the other side must be of the highest intention and integrity. The only agenda should be to bring through messages of healing and validation.
- If you haven't already, it is time to begin a spiritual practice that includes: meditating, journaling, reading psychic development books as well as participating in a psychic development class.
- Before going to bed at night, state the following intention: I will remember all of my dreams that are for my highest and best good. Being able to recall your dreams, will help you remember the visits from crossed over loved ones with messages. Visits during dreams count as valid information from the other side.
- Pay attention to the everyday signs that you see. Sometimes this is spirit's way of bringing through a message for us. They often come in the way of music, repetitive number sequences, through conversations with others, specific aromas, animal messengers (certain ones keep showing up) and through our thoughts (telepathy).
- Asking for assistance from your spirit helpers does work. You can also request that your gifts continue to develop in a manner that you are comfortable with.
- If at all possible light a candle during your session. Candles light the way for spirit and help create a sacred ambiance.
- The more you develop your psychic abilities the more clear ALL types of messages will come through, not just the ones related to mediumship.
- If at all possible have some questions written down beforehand. It is a good idea to have your standard mediumship questions to refer to such as: Whom am I speaking with, How did you pass?Is there a sign you reveal to your loved ones? Is there a message?
- There are times when some spirits are not “available”. This could be for a number of reasons. It could be the spirit is busy working on their own growth. It may also be the information may be misunderstood and not beneficial to the receiver. Try to not get caught up in this aspect.
- Use a specific prayer to help you open and close the session. For example ~ I call upon my highest and most divine guidance to assist me with connecting to the other side. I ask only information to come through that is purposeful and loving. Thank you.
- Not all spirits on the other side are of a higher vibration…remember this. They may still need to go to spirit school to evolve to a loving space. Working with personal protection is a must in any psychic work.
- Be sure to create a filter or a protection system this may be your higher self or a guide that is the guardian or keeper of the information. Working with a trusted gatekeeper is imperative so that we keep only the good stuff to come through.
- Holding or carrying crystals such as amethyst, angelite, malachite, amber and charoite will help you open up your psychic centers.
- Give yourself a break and put your expectations of how it should look to the side. Becoming solid and comfortable with your psychic ability takes time to develop.
- Burning patchouli, nag champa or sandalwood not only helps you open up your psychic channels but they also protect your physical and etheric space.
- When you are through with your session close with a prayer of gratitude, then break the psychic connection by washing your hands, saging, clapping your hand, ringing a bell or even asking for the connection to be sealed and complete.
- Please don't take turn away messages or guidance because this is not who you wanted to speak with. Always trust whoever comes through is for your highest and best good. This visitor may be the opening act for the person you were hoping to connect with.
- Seeking out a reputable teacher/mentor is always an excellent idea with any training. Training under someone with hands on experience, who loves what they do and is very successful at their craft is invaluable.
Be sure to treat this process sacredly and be consistent with your spiritual practice. Consistency, discipline and reverence will help you improve your connection with the other side to bring through messages of love, clarity and validation.

Hi ive always heard and seen spirits good and bad from the age of 3, but has lessoned as ive aged.. i still get the odd stuff happening, but recently at work i heard a ladys soft vouce saying “hello”.. this happened from midnight to 2pm which scared me as my coworker couldnt hear her but i could. I want to know how to practise mediumship (as i done in passed). Im feeling asthough someone is trying to connect, and i need to know how and the safest way to communicate. Cant find any mediumship near by. Thanku michie
