Microsoft Outlook-A brief Intro
Microsoft's Outlook.com web-based e-mail service is supplied free of charge. It is similar to Google's Gmail service, but it offers a twist: you can access your Outlook data from your PC. Microsoft has merged its e-mail service, Hotmail, with the service Windows Live and has included support for contacts (including LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook, and also the user's schedule), as well as calendars.
To sign up for an Outlook.com account, visit the website and click the Sign Up Now link near the bottom of the page. You'll need to provide the necessary personal information, as well as create an e-mail account and password. To access this site, please log in with an existing account at Hotmail, Windows Live, Messenger, SkyDrive, Windows Phone, or Xbox LIVE.
Repairing Microsoft Outlook Storage Files
With Microsoft Outlook Repair function, you may find that your PST file has been fixed even if it has extensive damage. Assume that the utility fails to restore any restored files or folders to their original locations or directories. In such cases, they will be consolidated into a Lost and Found folder or a collection of folders labeled Recovered Personal Folders.
You can repair these items by creating a new Outlook PST data file, moving material to it from the Found or Lost Personal Folders.
How does an Outlook data file repair work?
In the Folder Pane, you may notice a folder called Recovered Personal Folders, which contains your usual Outlook folders, or a folder called Lost and Found. Some of the folders may be recreated during the restoration process, although they may be empty. For example, if Outlook can't put a folder or item back in its original location, that content will be stored in the Lost and Found folder.
Steps:
1. New data file creation
If you want to repairs any Outlook data files or the Outlook items that were saved to the Lost and Found folder, you can start a new Outlook Data File and drag objects into it from the Lost and Found folder. After you've relocated all of the objects, you can delete the Recovered Personal Folders (.pst) file, which includes the Lost and Found folder. To create a new data file for Outlook, refer to Create a data file for Outlook repair.
2. Retrieve backup file items (.bak)
You might be able to retrieve additional items if you can open the original Outlook Data File. A copy of the original Outlook Repair file is made, and the new file has the name with a .bak extension and is saved in the same folder. You could be able to recover certain items in the backup file that the repair program couldn't retrieve.
Check the folder in which the.pst file is saved and you will see the. bak file created by the Inbox Repair program.
3. Import
Import the bak.pst file to Outlook and import any further recovered items into the newly formed pst file with the Import and Export Wizard.
4. Data Files Location of Outlook
The location of Outlook Data Files can be checked in Outlook by using this path:
Select File > Configuration of the account > Configuration of the account
