Governors Ball Los Angeles will be an official Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences party event which will see more than 3400+ guests invited from the entertainment industry. Only 1500 out of that score will be shown their way to the Governors Ball party which is organized in the Ray Dolby Room.
Sequoia Productions for their 30th consecutive year, Mr Cheryl Cecchetto, will be closely working with Lois Burwell on devising, executing and managing the Governors Ball event. The team will be overlooking everything from micro to macro things like theme, fixtures, design, and colour coordination.
The Governor Ball Event
Lois Burwell, The Academy Governor along with eminent Chef Mr Wolfgang Puck and event producer Mr Cheryl Cecchetto, are designated to create a team for this year’s Governors Ball official party post Oscars celebrations. The party will be immediately followed by the 91st Oscar ceremony. The ball has invited 1,500 guests which comprises Oscar winners, show presenters, telecast presenters, and nominees from the entertainment industry. The ball event will pay tribute to the glorious history of the cinematic world showcasing the glimpses of music and artifacts from different eras of filmmaking.
The Academy’s Official After Party Aura
The 91st Oscars Governors Ball Los Angeles will honor the cinema “Filmscapes” ensembling the glorious images of the world cinema with live orchestra as well as instrumental soundtracks which will be synchronized with the live projected films.
The event decor encompasses rich merlot emulating the design of the Oscar Gold movie theatre. It will be an immersive class experience that guests will be enjoying.
This will be the second time that Lois Burwell, the chairperson of Academy Awards and Events Committee and a prominent makeup artist will take care of the entertainment, menu and decor of the Governors Ball Los Angeles event.
Burwell is known for her Oscar-winning work in “Braveheart” and has won several accolades for “Saving Private Ryan”. She has bagged numerous credits to her kitty which includes “Lincoln”, “War Horse”, “The Princess Bride” and “Ready Player One”. She is a member of “The Academy” since 1977 and presently serving her second term as Hairstylists and makeup branch governor. She is parallelly holding an esteemed profile of First vice president on the Academy Board of Governors.
The Ball Decor
The entire event scene is done by Mark Held, the florist. He will be transforming the complete outlook of the Ray Dolby Ballroom by showcasing the most tender, luscious, succulent twin towers. The decor will comprise of 5000+ succulent and 1000 of different coloured ranunculus and roses specially flown in from South America, California and Holland to get that vibe. These succulents will be then planted at the “Motion Picture & Television Fund residential community” after the party.
Glimpses Of Inside The Governors Ball Los Angeles
The entire party is planned under a team of 16 expert party planners who have been preparing for several months ahead of the time. It is believed that the number of crew members will rise to 1000 for this after the Oscar telecast event.
There’s a special pastry team overseed by the master chef Wolfgang Puck who will be crafting 6000 chocolate Oscar statues for the Governors Ball event.
The Academy guests will be enjoying their glass of wine from “The Francis Ford Coppola Winery” which will be bringing their two limited editions exclusively for the Oscars and Governors Ball event. The wine menu includes a Piper Heidsieck Champagne (a limited-edition magnum bottle), classic earthy 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2016 Chardonnay. There will be in all 2500+ plus bottles for the evening celebration. The entire endeavour will require 2000 mixed edible flowers, hand-cut exotic fruits and hand-carved ice cubes to give a finishing touch to the drinks.
The Sunday evening will be brimming with the guest enjoying 5000 speciality cocktails along with signature cuvée brut in style. Each of these bottles is engraved in gold with “90th Oscars” that matches to the Oscar gold statues.
Additionally; Mr Wolfgang Puck will be taking care of the menu as the previous year, presenting the most delicious delicacies from across the globe. The menu comprises of smoked salmon Oscars, white asparagus soup with caviar, Miyazaki beef tartare with black rice, black truffle chicken pot pie. The ball will also have a custom sushi bar for the attendees that will have exotic raw seafood, all that you can imagine – from snow crab legs to 24 karat gold caviar to sea urchins.
The Governors Ball, Los Angeles event, will be elaborated occasion celebrating it with extensive exotic menu and drink selection.
Pastry chefs Kamel Guechida, Monica Ng, Garry Larduinat and Jason LeMonnier, will be taking care of the sweet course which includes desserts like Key lime meringue cheesecake tacos, Cocktail inspired macarons, Ruby chocolate strawberries and cream with other delicacies. About 300 culinary staff will be engaged to get this sweet course done.
All in all, it is going to be a splendid celebration of the legacy of Hollywood.
