Email Whitelisting Instructions

Many e-mail and Internet companies are now using programs to block unwanted e-mail, often called spam. Sometimes, however, these programs block e-mail you want to get.

A whitelist is a list of accepted items or persons in a set…. a list of e-mail addresses or domain names from which an e-mail blocking program will allow messages to be received.

Of course, every e-mail system is different. Below are the whitelisting instructions for some of the more popular ones. If yours isn’t here, please contact your ISP’s customer service folks for their instructions. (Forward the answer to us, and we might add it!)

Gmail:

1. Login to your gmail and click on your inbox.  You should see three tabs: Primary, Social, and Promotions.  If the email you want to whitelist already appears on your Primary Tab, then you don't need to do anything.   If not, then click on the Promotions tab and locate the email that you want to whitelist (ie. “Conscious Life News” or “Vickie Howie (CLASS Host)”.
2. Drag that email to the “Primary” tab of your inbox (see the image below):

3. A yellow pop-up box will appear at the top of your display.  Click “Yes” to confirm that you want future messages from “Conscious Life News” and/or “Vickie Howie (CLASS Host)” to appear in your “Primary” folder.  This is a KEY step – so please make sure that you click “Yes”.
