Earth’s Magnetic Field Is NOT About To Reverse, Study Finds

Richard Holme, Professor of Geomagnetism at the University of Liverpool, said: “There has been speculation that we are about to experience a magnetic polar reversal or excursion. However, by studying the two most recent excursion events, we show that neither bear resemblance to current changes in the geomagnetic field and therefore it is probably unlikely that such an event is about to happen. Our research suggests instead that the current weakened field will recover without such an extreme event, and therefore is unlikely to reverse.” #EarthMagneticField

What’s Mars Solar Conjunction, and Why Does it Matter?

Mars solar conjunction, a period when Mars is on the opposite side of the Sun from Earth. During this time, the Sun can interrupt radio transmissions to spacecraft on and around the Red Planet. #solarconjunction

Deciphering The Vast Scale of the Universe

One of the fundamental questions humanity has always asked is how big is our Universe? For much of human history, people believed that Planet Earth was the very center of the entire universe. And Earth is pretty big. But compared the rest of the universe, we are infinitesimally small. Check it out in this PBS Space Time video. #astronomy #universe

A Material Way To Make Mars Habitable

New research suggests that regions of the Martian surface could be made habitable with a material — silica aerogel — that mimics Earth’s atmospheric greenhouse effect. Through modeling and experiments, the researchers show that a 2- to a 3-centimeter-thick shield of silica aerogel could transmit enough visible light for photosynthesis, block hazardous ultraviolet radiation, and raise temperatures underneath permanently above the melting point of water, all without the need for any internal heat source. #livingonmars

Mass Anomaly Detected Under The Moon’s Largest Crater

“Imagine taking a pile of metal five times larger than the Big Island of Hawaii and burying it underground. That’s roughly how much-unexpected mass we detected,” said lead author Peter B. James, Ph.D.

Humans Really Are Made of Stardust, and a New Study Proves It

The crucial elements for life on Earth, often called the building blocks of life, can be abbreviated as CHNOPS: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and sulfur. For the first time, astronomers have cataloged the abundance of these elements in a huge sample of stars.

Are Aliens Trying to Contact Us? Mysterious Radio Signals Emanate from Deep Space

Given the signals’ energy, repeating nature and location, speculation has already begun on whether an advanced alien civilization is trying to contact us. The scientists haven’t ruled out the possibility that the signals originated from extra-terrestrial intelligence, however, they say it is more likely to be solar flares from a young neutron star.

Evidence of Free Energy in the Space All Around Us

Everything in the entire universe, everything that you and I perceive to be solid matter, is actually not matter at all. All the space around us is pure energy which we will call vacuum energy. Not only that, but this vacuum energy is infinitely dense.

Our Startling First Glimpse of the Far Side of the Moon

Since the #moon is tidally locked to the Earth, for millennia we could only guess what mysteries lay on its “dark side.” Then in 1959 the Luna 3 spacecraft sent back a photo that prompted more questions than it answered.
