3 Empowering Tips To Help You Assimilate the Big Energetic Shifts We’re All Going Through

Embracing the universial energy-compressed

By Michael Forrester | in5d.com

There is a barrier of wisdom that is being shattered by those who are choosing light over darkness and love over hatred. Right now there exists a potential for this planet that has never been felt or witnessed at any time in history, and it is mostly due to those who are surfing the new wave of consciousness and showing others how to do the same. The most difficult thing for people to embrace will be the new energy of change. So how do we adapt to a new consciousness when nothing works the way it used to?

You may have found yourself struggling the past few years with both gradual and abrupt changes in your life. Perhaps a shift in employment, financial hardship, relocation, the end of relationships, or even death of loved ones. Look at these things with love–not disappointment, anger or resentment. They have all happened for a reason and they will continue happening, both to you and those around you. You will notice it and it will soon be very obvious that things will never be the same. It is a time of great change. Get used to it because it is a thing of beauty.

There has never been a time of greater consciousness on planet Earth as there is today. NEVER. No cycle, even 30 or 60 thousand years ago comes close to the level of consciousness we have on the Earth today. But it came with a few bumps on the road.

Those bumps are not confined to those still sleeping, awakening, or awakened. It’s everybody. It is the young, the old, the rich, the poor, the human, the animal, Gaia, the secular and the non-secular. It is everything.

There is not one human being on Earth today that truly understands what is coming because they continue to interpret concepts from a linear third density reality–a reality that is (virtually) long gone and no longer making all the rules within the new consciousness. It’s now about multi-dimensionality. How can we exist within new energy thinking through old patterns? We can’t. We won’t. Not without thinking and feeling through new states of awareness. An understanding that everything is happening at once. That we are selecting the potentials that best align with our current state of being, picking those we think will work and then manifesting those experiences.

Until we grasp that the new consciousness revolves around a quantum reality sifting through multiple dimensions, we will keep repeating the same old patterns until it hits home. I repeat, all the things that are happening to you right now will keep happening over and over until you can transform the new reality within you. It’s a reality that works for you, instead of against you. A reality that flows freely instead of resisting what could be.

So here are 3 states of mind that will help with the shift:

1. Don’t Allow Fear To Create Doubt

What does darkness do when it realizes it is losing? It fights back like you wouldn’t believe. It is cowardly and has tantrums like a child. It wants to make you doubt your self-worth in an awakening world.

The dark energy knows when you fear anything and it understands exactly how to make you doubt your own awakening. There have been many people who have been workers for the light who have now claimed the light is working for the dark. Watch for this. It is happening more often. It is a misinterpretation of what light work is and a fear of what it can do. There can be no justice for these people. Only love. For the path they choose is correct for them.

As soon as the darkness senses your vulnerability it will take you to a high level of discomfort and you won’t like it. It will expose you because you fear, and when you fear it has you exactly where it wants you.

Most know what is coming and it will manifest in different ways for all of you. For some, it will be deeply rooted in personal turmoil and relationships and for others, it will politics and the international landscape of conflict. Look for race wars, gender wars and political wars to increase, because this is how the dark divides humanity. Look back in history and you will see the cycle. Are you going to fall for it again, or are you going stand and love humanity as a whole?

You don’t have to let darkness cause any emotion within you that causes discomfort. The dark energy is not intelligent. It is stupid. Really stupid. When it senses its own demise it keeps doing the things that lead to its demise. It’s not going to work this time and you will see it. You will see the attempts to cause division and they won’t affect you the same way. When you stand in the light, these things can’t touch you. It only takes one candle to illuminate a large area and darkness wants to blow it out. How is it going to blow it out when there are thousands of other candles all over the world? I am right beside you helping you keep that candle lit and I will never leave your side. You are my strength just as you feel I am yours. So sorry dark ones but these candles aren’t going anywhere. If you want darkness, go where there is darkness, but go before we get there, because once we get there, no longer will there be darkness.

Duality knows when any imbalance exists and the relationship of dark and light is recalibrating. It will even happen in your dreams. It will try whenever it can to make you doubt the new energy. It can’t win because it has already lost. It just doesn’t know it yet. But it will try…really hard to make you think it has a chance.

Always remember that darkness has no resident energy. It is only the absence of light. It has no energy of its own. It cannot exist when light is present. It can only exist when the light fades. How does the light fade? Anger, hostility, hatred, fear, etc. The dark loves lower level consciousness. It thrives there. So show your power. Stand in your power and light and show the dark it can no longer exist within you. When you stand in your mastery, darkness goes away.

2. Be Compassionate To All Things

Did you know that compassionate energy is the strongest of all energies? Yes, even stronger than love. Love is second and once it matures, it becomes compassion. Can you be compassionate instead of critical? Can you be compassionate about things you need to endure? Can you have compassion for that person that cut you off on the highway? Or that person that cheated their way through a line you waited patiently for? Can you have compassion for your politicians? ALL of them. Not just your favorites. How strong is your compassion filter?

Can you be with those who make you angry, anxious, fearful and see the God in them? The masters that walked the Earth had the highest level of compassion of all beings. They had the ability to realign the energy of others solely based on their level of compassion that they could emit to others. That is why they were masters and why everybody wanted to be with them. You were once them and you will be again. It starts with compassion right here, right now.

Do you feel that God, our prime creator is compassionate in all circumstances? Do you still feel the need to believe that God must be humanized and judge, punish or condone violence to those who are immoral in your perception? Does an all loving God selectively choose who to be compassionate to? When you can begin to harmonize answers to these questions that mesh with the energy among us, you will begin to see things (all things) through alternate perspectives. You will begin to see compassion in everything and a system of love that is far beyond what can be explained in words.

How Weird, Little Synchronicities Can Actually Be the Bomb!

Art by Cherie Roe Dirksen

For those of you who don’t know what synchronicity is, please READ THIS.

Meaningful Coincidences

“Synchronicity hints at the unified world behind the illusory veil of the material universe” — Roger S. Jones

Synchronous moments usually mark major game changes in our individual timelines.

It could be that moment when you bump into a friend you haven’t seen in years that you just had a dream about.  You get talking and she’s the very person you need to collaborate with.  You both go on to start an amazing and successful online enterprise.

When you look back at that point in time, you just know that synchronicity bought you together and your dream was a breadcrumb leading you to success. That kind of synchronous moment is a no-brainer — it was Kismet!

Synchronicities are awesome markers and can change your life forever if you don’t brush them off as meaningless.

Seemingly Meaningless Coincidences

Okay, so what about those itty bitty synchronicities? You know the ones…

You trip over your son’s toy T-Rex in the morning.  You walk into the supermarket and there’s a big Barney the Dinosaur cut-out as you head in.  The soccer mom who’s carpooling today comes to the door wearing a Marc Bolan T-Rex t-shirt and you start to think you’re going crazy.

What do dinosaurs have to do with your life right now?

Should you be looking more deeply into prehistory?  What is the universe trying to tell you?

That your arms are too short?

Tuning into the Radio

I’ve got an amusing personal ‘mini-synch’ story to share with you: I was packaging a painting for a client earlier this week. I decided to put on a bit of Radiohead (who doesn’t like a bit of Brit rock to make the workload more tolerable?).

So, there I was jiving and gyrating about my studio whilst cutting up board and getting packaging tape in my hair.

I got to my laptop screen to get my clients address (which I hadn’t seen yet) and to my utter amazement…he stayed in a place called ‘Radiokop’.  Which, yes — you guessed it — directly translated means ‘Radiohead’ in Afrikaans.

I wasn’t even aware that such a suburb existed in Johannesburg but there it was, as bold as brass, and staring at me from my computer screen! I even did a Google search to make sure that there really was place called ‘Radiokop’ and…of course there was!

Okay, so what do I do with this bit of fun but useless information?

Does it mean I’m going to get a visit from Thom Yorke?  I don’t think so…I mean I wouldn’t mind — don’t get me wrong — but I don’t think that’s what it means.

What’s Really Going On?

In my most humble opinion (and I have given this topic some strenuous thought), I don’t think anything happens in our lives for no reason.

These little synchronicities could very well be indicators that we are on path.

Think of it like dialing into your best life — the life your over-soul or higher self came here to express and experience. The closer you get to tuning into your appropriate channel the more life will spit out these weird little markers.

They’re not to be taken too literally, I think they are just there to let us know we’re in the timeline we’re supposed to be in — a tiny wink from the Universe.

When we diverge off this ‘preferred’ timeline, I think our propensity for the wee synchronicities will become less…a little like the white noise interference when we are dialing out of a station. But the more we try to stay tuned in, the more these coincidences will light the way for us.

Just a thought.

What do you think? Balderdash or believable?

How to Dispose of Preconceived Notions and Give Birth to Your Potential

Image result for wave of potential quoteWhile most consider the world of Quantum Physics to be confusing, backward, and even rebellious when it comes to mainstream mathematics, it remains to be an inviting albeit exclusive club that more and more of us mystics, wonderers, wanderers, and deep-thinkers bravely choose to traverse.

To me, Quantum Physics has always and continues to act as the bridge between two favorite worlds of mine…those of Science and Spirituality. And while I was terrified taking the first step, once I did I knew there was no going back.

Quantum Physics lights up the field of creation in ways we cannot even begin to imagine. The more we learn about the likes of entanglement and bilocation, the clearer it becomes that we each have more power over our lives than we ever knew to be possible. The power alone in the act of human observation (and ultimately our perception of said observation) is literally life allowing us to dance with the Universe.

This is not some space-case, woo-woo talk, but rather a critical component in ensuring that we as human beings know who we really are, what we are capable of and what the f*ck we are even doing here in the first place.

I know many religious people who scoff at the world of science and vice versa. Yet for me, I’ve always seen them both as two different sides of the same coin. Each having the final piece of the puzzle that the other has sought after for so long. Rather than competing with or against one another, my understanding has always been that each falls short without the other. Call it the natural order or balance of things, Yin to Yang, black to white, but nothing in the human language can quite grasp the importance of the role that Quantum Physics plays in being an equal and integral part of both the scientific and spiritual worlds.

It matters not if you believe in God to be spiritual. If you are more science-based there is still no denying the incredible cosmic wonders afforded to us by the Universe and all of the force of creation it shows up as within Nature. There is an order in everything from the growth pattern of a sunflower to the spiral of a tropical storm. And within this order, no matter how focused you are on the facts, graphs, equations and research papers that act as the foundation of the scientific theory, there is again no denying the soul-touching beauty of all this math!

So, what does this all have to do with preconceived notions and especially with giving birth to our potential? Well, I’m glad you asked…

Preconceived notions can be likened to computer software where our subconscious minds are the hard drive and everyone and everything else, all the stuff “out there” has installed this software…presumably with little to no notice on our part. I believe the human soul or “consciousness” is energy personified and thus cannot be destroyed. Therefore, we continue to “upload” into new hard drives with each incarnation. Image result for wave of potential quote

I also believe that these incarnations build on one another, call it an upgrade if you will, with each one stacking upon the last…knowledge, trauma, memories of the cells and of the soul, and lessons learned, loved and lost. With each upgrade, we all have the option to read the fine print and decide if we would like the “standard” install or the “custom” version. Customized installations allow us a view of the bigger picture of what is going onto our “machines” and thus warrant responsibility on our part to ensure we unchecked the box that asked if we also wanted to make Bing our default browser or not.

All nerdy puns aside, this is perhaps the most accurate way I can personally think of comparing the birth and rebirth of the human soul. And once we look from a different perspective, we might realize just how many of our preconceived notions of the world are not even our own. We did not experience anything directly to force a side one way or the other but rather had a repetitive installation of outdated software from our parents, teachers, clergy, news, and ultimately the entire world around us.

Some of us don’t realize this until much later in life and some never realize it at all…and it’s all OK regardless. Meeting this realization was a life-changing moment for me as it made me understand (rather innately reconnect with) that parts of me were not “me” at all, but rather ideas, opinions, and expectations of others.

In the world of Quantum Physics, ALL is potential awaiting a conscious choice to bring it forth. All energy travels in waves, and those waves do not cease until there is either a connection to or overlay of another wave. Depending on the vibration of each wave, what results is either interference or resonance. It is not until a wave is collapsed that it becomes a particle which thus appears as matter in our physical world. The same goes for any and all decisions we face in our lives. Read that again…

When we realize that ALL potential resides within our world and merely awaits a decision to be observed and chosen, we give ourselves back the power to reconnect with what shows up in your life. When we reclaim our stake as a vital piece of the cosmic puzzle, we also reclaim our birthright as a conscious creator being.

And no matter if you consider yourself religious, scientific or a little of both such as myself, creativity is something we can all appreciate in one another. For when we create, we design from the heart and leave our mark. The world around us and all potential for greatness within it, collapse through our willingness to give birth to our own lives.

Our Quantum Reality: The Entanglement of Life [VIDEO: A.H. Almaas]

The 3 dimensions of our physical reality will have us believe that everything is solid, rigid, and a slave to our perceptual senses. However, classical theories on reality are proving to be not as solid as science would hope them to remain. Which I find quite ironic since the beauty of science is the ever-quest of curiosity as the drive to find Truth.

However, lately, it seems at least in the last century that science seems more ego-driven than guided by wanderlust. And perhaps it’s that disconnect from our childlike open-mindedness to new and fresh ideas that have somewhat halted what could be an immense and intense progression of advancement in our knowledge of reality, which in my humble opinion MUST include an idea of a creator. Because at the core of it all, who are we and what the hell are we doing here if not creating every living moment of our waking (and resting) lives???

Even at a cellular level, there is always growth and expansion and the creation of the new. We as a species are continually creating good and services for worldwide need and unfortunately, world-wide greed. And while I’ll save my soapbox rants and views on how we live in a Corporatocracy of Orwellian proportions for another time, I will speak to the point that above all we are always CREATING.

Whether it be out of the need for survival of the physical body, the mind, medical care, or on another level of creation where we act to create as a sense of release or personal expression via music, dance, art and the like, we are always giving out a part of ourselves. And what we give out is created from what we’ve taken in…not only from our experiences and our genetics, but also from what I’ve learned to be known as ancestral memories stored in our DNA, which are the blueprints for what? Creating US!

So speaking from a scientific point of view, it would make sense that someone or something generated, assembled, designed, or created…(ahem), those blueprints. So, therefore the inner knowing in my heart has always responded to my ever inquisitive mind whenever it doubts that the unseen world that must be felt with frequency and vibration (intuitive vibes) is just as real as the physical world we rely on solely through our senses such as sight and sound.

From studying some pretty deep topics in both the science and spiritual worlds from String Theory to how to channel the Akashic Records, I always find myself in the same place…square in the middle of both wondering why each area has such issues with the other and why they cannot just play nice. Because from my view, when planted firmly in the middle of both, able to see the gifts each other and how beautifully they piece together, it only makes sense as a person who loves science to use the tool I see before me. And it fills my heart with peace and a sense of connection to know that the integration of such “opposites” is actually the “answer” to many if not most issues we face in the world today.

3-D is a world of duality, asking for resolution on a constant level. Picture it as the ever-evolving yin and yang on the same coin, never able to see one another, feeling at odds, but from a higher perspective, we can see they are of the same Source and play an equal but opposite role. When infused together in the efforts, they create one greater functioning system. I honestly feel that this is the “cosmic goal” of the human spirit and why we reincarnate. We come back as many times as we must to reintegrate all of the faceted parts of ourselves until we are “whole” again and fully remember who we are. Then, there IS no more conflict, no more doubt, fear, separation and therefore no more lessons to learn.

I guess you could say we obtained Enlightenment, but perhaps if we want to include science we could also say we’ve obtained Entanglement…

The following video speaks more on the Quantum Theory of Entanglement and also how it applies to general life. It’s a short, but informative piece I think both your mind and heart will really enjoy. 🙂

A Moment in Motion: What Standing Waves Can Teach Us About Personal Resonance

Image result for quantum mechanicsWhile there is no rule to the specific conditions in which a standing wave can form, a common example of a physical medium in which we can view a standing wave with our own eyes is when you strike a guitar string, or when the wind blows the surface water of a lake to create visual masterpieces of infinite patterns that appear to be in motion, but do not appear to move.

How is this so?

Simple physics explains: “In a bounded medium, standing waves occur when a wave with the correct wavelength meets its reflection. The interference of these two waves produces a resultant wave that does not appear to move.” (Source: https://physics.info/waves-standing/)

In layman’s terms, when equal amplitudes connect in such a way, they thus become the equal and opposite reflection of one another.

Where am I going with this? Well, for one, we humans, being the clusters of atomic and cellular awesomeness that we are, exist as conscious, aware, emotional and spiritual groupings of quantum matter. All of which are “leading their own lives” and doing their thing. And if “we”, as in-the control pilot of this crazy train, make an honest effort to remember that, it will always serve as an infinite reminder that everything, yes everything in creation is one..within itself and within all things.

It takes a mere moment to literally feel into this truth…for every moment we choose to own and fully embrace with attention and connection, is a moment we recollect with all things not only within, but around us. This serves us in allowing a perhaps long lost connection to our purpose, our potential and ultimately our progression on our unique, yet connected path.

While I was never quite good at math, once I fell into the pool of Quantum Mechanics, I was immediately willing to drown. It opened a door for me to a place I had always known existed but never imagined I’d ever visit, nonetheless want to stay.

However, the more I learned how innately connected the powers and forces of Nature are, and that we too are a part of it all, unfolding ourselves in the same way roses unfold petals to bloom or an acorn breaks it’s own protective shell to become the mighty oak tree, the more I swam and dove into the world of all things Quantum.Related image

I realized that I didn’t need to be able to perform complicated calculations or write intrinsic equations to enjoy, learn from and eventually teach from such a magical world. The simple acknowledgment of the Fibonacci spiral that is within every crevice of Nature from the patterns in a growing cabbage to the raging hurricane is honestly enough as each follows a mathematical rule: for each to continue unfolding to become more of itself.

Perhaps the greatest lesson I’ve taken from Quantum Mechanics is that while we cannot physically be in two places at once (Bilocation), we can exist in many places and states simultaneously, and remain connected to all we encounter throughout life (Entanglement), no matter what human label we toss on it such as “good” or “bad” experiences. Everything builds to create an inner consciousness we reflect on, listen to, and are influenced by daily, whether we are aware of this connection or not. Memory, our senses and our imaginations allow us the freedom to explore our world on many levels.

On a grander scale, this taught me many things about love and how things become their greatest selves when love is present throughout the process. If you are reading this then chances are good you are aware of Dr. Emoto and his famous experiments on water crystals. If a simple label saying “I hate you” can change water on a cellular level, and we are about 75% water, then imagine what our inner conversations and thoughts are doing to our Quantum communities of cells, organs, and energy bodies?

We often tend to get distracted by the world outside. And while I’m a born loner (and yet love people), I’m not encouraging you to become a recluse or anything, but rather to make a point to give your inner world as much time and attention as you do the outer. As the saying goes, “We cannot pour from an empty cup.” I’m not talking about diet, but rather the energy we feed on.

The more we do this, the better apt we are to remain aware of (and use to best serve us) our reactions, our reachings, and our revelations. Often we hear in the Spiritual Community to always “Stay Positive!”. And while I agree and cannot deny the fact that the human body, mind, and spirit put out and react to energy signatures or frequencies that can either interfere with or resonate with those around it, I also believe that human consciousness allows us access to a secret “control room” within that allows us to BE in and remain in a certain vibration or frequency, while simultaneously resonating with those in varying other vibrations or frequencies.

Image result for quantum mechanics spiritualityCall it a proverbial “stepping into another’s energy shoes”. We can learn quickly that while certain energies do have the ability to affect our own, it ultimately remains our conscious choice as to what we resonate with.

Time truly does fly when you’re having fun and in my opinion, this occurs because of certain positive emotions that cause time itself to expand (on a linear scale although time in itself is not linear but cyclical), thus requiring anything in motion contained with the moments to “move” at a faster rate of speed.

So, no matter how you’re feeling at this moment, own it, allow it and let it be a tool that assists you in your personal growth, acceptance, and mission. Stand tall in who you are and always know that although it may seem like things don’t change, or you continue to miss the mark, that if we honor all of them as teachers, we ultimately gain the insight to know that we all have the power to make a difference, even within our own cells and that the best teachers were once the most open-minded students.

Personal power is not about control, but rather becoming aware of your personal resonance. Be a song to the world that you wouldn’t mind having on repeat yourself and it will become a song the world will sing together.

Manifestation Mastery: How to Make Sh*t Happen

Image result for make shit happenMany of us from time to time have tasted defeat and wondered what are we doing wrong or what can we be doing “better”? But after a while, you get to a point where you realize that what you have believed you were fighting for, you’ve actually been fighting against. And this isn’t to say that any choices we’ve made prior were good or bad ones, just that over time we eventually land where we are meant to be; no matter how many choices we make that inevitably delay it.

I know first hand that the mind and heart do not always play nice and that sometimes you need to quiet them both and go deep into your soul to find the answers best for you. Often it’s only when we quiet the mind and release the heart do we afford ourselves the opportunity to connect with our own inner guidance; the one that is objective and has no agenda.

We can trust this voice because unlike the mind it’s not “thinking” logically as to what might make the most sense, or take into account what others might think, etc. And unlike the heart, it’s not tied up in the emotion that often clouds us from accurately seeing things that are potentially dangerous to our overall well-being.

When we listen to what I love to call the “song of our soul”, we are hearing the equivalent of our inner child reading from the book of our personal purpose. And that inner child of ours is bursting with authentic joy in remembrance of who we really are and why we were put here, to begin with. Not to get distracted in everyday life, nor lost in it to overlook what some might consider being trivial.

This voice reminds us of who we really are. Of who we were before the world told us we must be in order to fit in and be accepted into society. And under all of those labels and expectations are layers of dreams and ideas forgotten that merely need to be wiped clean again. Kind of like restoring that classic car you’ve had parked for over a decade that you finally pull out of the garage with pride; shiny and new and representative of the fun and freedom, yet hard work you’ve put into designing your life up until now.

And let this also be a reminder that there is a big difference between letting go and giving up. We may feel like a failure if we leave that dead-end job we’ve been in for 15 years only because the manager keeps promising that killer raise and promotion, but if we never leave, the new opportunity that could afford us the title, the pay rate and the lifestyle we desire can never reach us. And obtaining those things, if part of our particular dream, would make us feel like we achieved a lot, no?

This is surely not to say that accomplishments are based on just what you do for a living, nor is it to say that money is a true measure of success, but for so many of us we fear to let what we want to happen actually happen, because what’s happening now is less scary than what we make up in our heads of what COULD happen, right???

Enough of that nonsense! It’s time we make a switch…from living in fear to living FEARLESS! All it takes is a bit of trust in oneself, a dash of guts to take a risk or two, a hint of confidence, a splash of imagination and inspiration and as much joy and celebration as you want for dessert!

We attract what we think, right? I think that it’s safe to say none of us here are strangers to manifesting or how it works, so always remember that. And remember as well that what we resist persists, so by default of how society would like us to be, we are always manifesting…low energy things, often things we do not want and we may not even be aware of it. So take back your power, and get back into the flow of fulfillment.

“Each soul has the ability to manifest what they need, but fear, poverty consciousness, conditioning and often lack of education prevent many from manifesting what they need.” – Maitreya

Some people will come into our lives for a day, a year, or a lifetime and they are also reminders of the energy we put out. So be mindful of areas in your relationships that feel forced as it may be time to take a look at things you may be holding too tightly to and that some release could allow some resolutions to breathe themselves into your situation.

When we remain mindful, but let things happen as they will we accept a communion with nature that will respect you back and allow you to happen to things just as much. And what I mean by that is the more we take the time to acknowledge, appreciate and allow what comes, the more what comes will be exactly what we wanted to come. And that is true “Manifestation Mastery”.

Keep It Simple: How Quantum Mechanics Inspires “Stellar” Decision-Making

If you are at all familiar with Quantum Mechanics, then you’ve more than likely heard of the utmost important role of the observer in shaping the overall fabric of reality. In fact, QM goes so far to state that “reality” doesn’t even exist until it’s measured; that is until it’s observed!

In more complicated terms, this is described as collapsing the quantum wave or determining the absolute state of matter, as we now know that electrons can and do exist simultaneously as waves and particles. Furthermore, QM tells us that all states of are actually occurring all at once as waves of probability until they are observed. Observing collapses the wave and chooses a state or outcome. Let’s call it the process of “stellar” decision-making at the quantum level.

3, 2, 1, BLASTOFF…

So, how can we take Quantum Wave Theory and apply it to our everyday lives? Well, while I don’t (yet, I swear I will someday!) hold a degree in Theoretical Physics, I love taking lessons from the quirky world of Quantum Mechanics and seeing how the minuscule world of energy can teach me how to live a happier life. And you know what? It has taught me more than I ever thought possible when it comes to just…simplifying.

See, sometimes in life, we can be overwhelmed with choices that can literally tear us apart inside. Do we stay in the job we hate because it pays well and provides security for us and our family is a great example! Taking any leap of faith is going to be one of the toughest choices you will make, but until you do imagine a million other possibilities just hanging around in limbo. I’ve always used this as motivation whenever I’m tempted to worry about the “what-if’s”. I suggest turning the worry around from a place of fear and trying to look at the act of having to make choices from a place of excitement instead; this helps immensely with overwhelm and feelings of burn out.

We begin to learn it’s not always a matter of just making the choice, but learning to ride the wave of possibilities as well so we know for sure which choice is absolutely best for us. When we do that, we gain confidence and trust in ourselves and over time this only makes the decision process simpler because we are literally exercising our trust muscles by showing ourselves we are there for US!

Collapse the Wave…

She was simple like quantum physics

I believe that this is one of the main reasons so many of us have such a hard time collapsing that wave and making the hard choices in life. It’s not so much a fear of the unknown per se as it is a fear of letting go of what we know and what we’re comfortable with. Our ego absolutely hates change and will do whatever it can to avoid it and keep you convinced that you need to keep things exactly as they are ALL THE TIME. But if you are wise and keep your eyes open, you will begin to lean towards the things you fear to do, because you begin to realize that there is where your greatest growth lies.

And that is a big part of learning to ride the wave as well; when we can challenge ourselves to step out of proverbial box and comfort zones we are saying yes to life and telling the Universe we’re open to expansion and willing to hold a bigger space in our lives. Then, and only then can bigger and better things come in! We may not all be born professional surfers, but no matter where we are at any time on our spiritual journey, if we surrender, we float.

Mental Alchemy: Using the Hermetic Laws of Polarity & Rhythm to Transform Your Life

Everything is dual; Everything has poles; Everything has its pair of opposites; Like and unlike are the same; Opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; Extremes meet; All truths, are but half-truths; All paradoxes may be reconciled. The Law of Polarity

Everything flows, out and in; Everything has its tides; All things rise and fall; The pendulum swing manifests in everything; The measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; Rhythm compensates. – The Law of Rhythm

The Hermetic Principles of Polarity & Rhythm have always been my two most favorite in that they are the greatest reminders that separation is an illusion…that when extremes agree to meet in the middle, harmony is achieved. Here I share how these two laws can be applied to your own life to bring congruence and balance.

The Law of Polarity

The Law of Polarity shows us that even though we can imagine two extreme opposites such as a freezing Eskimo in the Arctic and a sweating camel in the Mohave desert, they are the SAME. Yes, you read that right! If you moved the coldest cold and the hottest hot in the direction towards one another, they would eventually meet at a neutral degree, and yet we can never quite determine the exact moment when cold ends and hot begins or vice versa.

This shows they are of the same origin, just a different degree of the same expression. They are, as the Kybalion itself states, “…identical in nature, but different in degree”.

This also applies to light and dark, good and evil, love and hate…

And when you can fully grasp this principle it allows you to looks at all areas of your life in a complete new way! It brings opposites; the things we might judge, the people we might label into focus. Because when you can stop taking sides in your own life; when you can stop feeling like you alway HAVE to stand for something, be for this, or be against that, you can think of The Law of Polarity and remember that there ARE no sides; just a center point that has moved out in different directions!!!

The Law of Rhythm

The Law of Rhythm shows us that there is a natural order to things, and that eventually all things come back around like how a pendulum swings. This is one law that if you do not learn how to master it, it WILL master you. What this means is, when we allow ourselves to get so caught up in life, it will manifest in our bodies as stress, sickness, disease. And in our lives as chaos, negativity, disorder, unhappiness, etc.

To master this law, you must be able to look at the ebb and flow of life from a netural place and also be able to polarize (where the Law of Polarization comes into play) yourself at a place you want to rest where you will not be affected by this inevitable to and fro of life.

This is not to say to stop caring about things or no longer giving a shit about your life; not at all. This is saying to care SO much, that you are willing to cease allowing yourself getting lost in the emotional drama of action and reaction (yet another Hermetic Law) and instead empowering yourself with the gift of observance so you can make sound decisions and act at the right time on the right feelings, which is the first step to Self-Mastery.

When one begins to walk the path of Self- Mastery, one takes a journey that never really ends. Even when you try and convince yourself that you give up at times. Once you make the choice, the path is laid and you walk it, whether the Universe has to drag you, or pull you kicking and screaming. So, it is best to get to know the workings of this divine celestial system and your place in it, so as to give yourself the best chance to direct the way your life actually goes!

I think most of us would say we would like to have a say and control over how things go in our lives. Well, who is to say we can’t, but ourselves? We are truly our worst critics in life and when we change that inner voice from one that is always nagging and putting us down and using these Laws against us, to one that is encouraging, pushing us to higher places and wanting us to use or gifts and talents to help others and raise awareness in the global consciousness…we become some of the most powerful beings in the entire Universe. But we’ve simply never been taught this.

True power always comes from within us, and the Hermetic Laws of Polarity & Rhythm working in tandem when applied to your life can do wonders to help you stay in that zero-point state; that place of calm neutrality where you are able to look at life with a connected knowing that we are all One. And that we are also everything and nothing and my goodness…that sure is something. 🙂

A Lesson in Surrendering: What Is Meant For You Always Comes Into View

I was recently speaking with some friends about trusting the Universe and how that is not always the easiest thing to do. We got on the topic somehow of the movie The Arrival and were asking one another if we had all seen it. My response was kind of unusual in that I had, but I had not see it in one sitting. In fact I had to watch it over three different sittings!

My one friend and fellow writer here at CLN, said right away that it was because what I was meant to learn and receive from the movie wasn’t ready to come to me yet, and so it made sense I kept getting interrupted or whatever and had to come back to continue to watch the movie again at a later date.

She was SO right and now even looking back, I realized that watching the second and even the third time, it was almost as if certain parts were different or affecting me in a new way. It is almost as if I received it during the second viewing in a completely unique way from the first and also from the third. Interesting…

This had me thinking so much this past week that I was so inspired to write about it this week. It also continues on my year of ever-lasting synchronistic events! And it has really made me stop and remember the difference between doing something to move towards your goals and dreams everyday and pushing the Universe once you’ve set intentions.

I’ve learned a valuable lesson when it comes to the Law of Attraction and manifesting. It goes beyond working with “energy”. If you really want to get into the juicy stuff you will go a bit deeper down the rabbit hole and discover that thoughts are electric energy and they put our your intentions. Your emotions are magnetic and they draw in what you are feelings. Both are vital players in the art of manifestation and one would be wise to learn to master the art of balancing them in the creative heart space. (To learn more about this, Google “Heart Manifest Meditation” or ”How to Manifest From the Heart”).

There have been times where I’ve literally held my fist to the sky cussing to high hell that I give up and cannot understand what the heck the Universe wants from me. It’s one of those times where your Ego has had enough because it’s backed into a proverbial corner of your psyche and is being forced to expand and grow outside of comforts zones that have been in place for years.

But the more and more I explain to my Ego that growing is actually a good thing and will only help us have more fun in this cosmic playground, the more I able to trust and let go when putting my intentions out there. I find that I am no longer self-sabotaging and have started to actually trust myself and the process of working with the Universe rather than always coming from a place of feeling like a victim of it.

This small shift can make all the difference in the world and I’m not just saying that. It totally sounds cliche but it comes with heaps of insight, patient and peace. Small stuff doesn’t really bug you much and if it does you kind of get over it a bit faster because you know the Universe has got your back. You can even giggle at those who still often get their panties in a bunch when they are momentarily lost in the illusion that they are not creating their own reality in…this…moment…

And if you’re really feeling it, you might even help one of them look another way. And maybe just maybe, you can say to them too, “What is meant for you always comes into view.”

The Mandela Effect – New Insights and Revelations! Cynthia Sue Larson Explains

The Mandela Effect is gaining traction amongst the masses. Is this a REAL phenomenon or just “False Memory?”

The Mandela Effect – just what is this all about? Is this about a reality, possibly for the masses, that is constantly warping and wefting, ebbing and flowing, and literally shifting the past as we know it? Is this about our brain’s ability to process information one way at a certain point in time and another well into the future, or is this just about false memory?

Today’s guest Cynthia Sue Larson and I have discussed the Mandela Effect at great length before, but it seems that with every passing day, new information comes to light about what we may just be dealing with.

Cynthia and I discuss this in connection with what is known as retrocausality – the idea that cause does not always have to precede effect, and some of the exciting discoveries within the quantum field that are supporting this theory.

This conversation was so much fun to have and so exciting when we consider the possibilities and the clues that may eventually lead us to understand the true nature of reality.

Hacking the Matrix with Spiritual Alchemy

Image result for spiritual alchemyFor as long as I can remember I’ve been completely fascinated with the elements, the laws of Nature, sacred geometry, energy, and how it all comes together in a sort of fancy cosmic toolbox that we can all learn to use through ancient alchemical processes.

Now, I’m not talking about literally mixing some lyrium with dragonroot under the 3rd phase of the moon to gain +5 mana, but hey…yesterday’s Merlin is today’s Spiritual Alchemist, right?

No, the chemistry, the reactions, the changes I speak of refer to those specific ‘problem’ areas of your life. As cosmic Creator beings, we are all modern-day wizards and witches with more power to control what goes into and comes out of our very own lives than we are ever told, but I’m sure to have continually imagined throughout the years.

I’m referring to power in the Now or what I love to call ‘hacking the Matrix’. If we start to think of all outside events that attempt to bring us out of alignment (away from a feeling a being centered, calm, focused, relaxed, whole, peaceful, etc.) as simple programs running, then it becomes easier to then also recognize that we always have the choice if we want to run those programs or not.

Next time you are attempting to focus on something you are doing and feel continually distracted, you will immediately see a program attempt to run that wants to make you feel impatient and annoyed and trigger you to do the exact opposite thing of what you are trying to do. But if you simply recognize that fact, rather than react to it, you take away it’s INSTALL or RUN options and instead hit CANCEL. What you’re really doing is consciously clearing away that energy via an intention from your heart.

A good motivator to remind you to take a moment to actually choose whether to INSTALL or to CANCEL is remembering why you are doing what you are trying to focus on, to begin with. Like in meditation we always come back to the breath, instead come back to the task at hand. This can be likened to the alchemical process of Calcination.

Calcination is the process in alchemy when matter decomposes. So, in this case, it fits into letting all things but your goal, cause, etc. fall away from the moment so that just your object of focus remains in the ethers of your current reality. It can then more easily reclaim its place within our center sights.

Once we have taken the proverbial reigns of our own awareness and continue to make these conscious choices as to what programs are installed into our reality or not, we are likely to see vast improvements in our self-confidence, judgments, and willingness to show up in life. This can be likened to the alchemical process of Dissolution.

Dissolution is when we start to feel less identified with the programs and more with our inner world. Suddenly we become aware of how our own behavior might affect other people and we actually start paying attention to how we feel and how those around us feel. The key here is learning how to maintain a balance of compassion while not being a pushover. Maintaining a kind and open heart while creating a space where others can feel safe to release triggers, trauma, shadows, etc. is no easy task, but one that inevitably brings you more in tune with abilities to concentrate. This occurs the more we choose rather than react in life.

The less reactive we are, the more forgiving we allow ourselves to be. Where quick judgments are made, no room is left for grace, patience, and humility which must be present in order to ever heal resentment. We must be willing to let go in order to receive. This can be likened to the alchemical process of Separation.

Separation is where we isolate all components from the stage of Dissolution, or basically, we take that which we want to focus on in life and leave the rest. We take what works; let it go. And that is pretty much the foundation of forgiveness, no? It’s never about overlooking something done, but looking over something that’s done and seeing it in a new way.

Whatever you are attempting to focus on in life, I am sure you are fighting your inner excuses (basically your ego and all its ways it can come up with you keep you exactly the same, feeling the same, thinking the same, day after day after day…) as well as your outer excuses (whatever else we commit our time to).

Now the key here with our outer excuses is to review which ones are true priorities that expectedly call for your attention, time and focus (family, friends, commitments, hobbies, etc.) and just more reflections of your ego such as the time we spend complaining, comparing, judging, whining, putting ourselves down, putting others down, etc.

We all have pain and we all have more say in how fast our wounds heal. Some of us just like to keep picking at it. And while old wounds cut deep, they are also some of the best way-showers life has to offer us. We just have to be willing to see. And in the end, the absolute best way to stay focused in my opinion is to simply remember why you looked in the first place. 😉

How to Ignite Rapid Remembrance of Who You Truly Are

For so long I was one of those people that always got taken advantage of for being “too nice”. While I always had an innate desire to help others in need, on top of that was a guilt-ridden desire to help anyone I could, whether it meant losing or even destroying myself in the process or not. I’m not really sure where it came from exactly, or when it started but I know that it is deeply rooted to the death of my father at a very young age and the feelings of intense abandonment that followed for years to come.

While I never really knew him, I always felt like I had connected with him in the physical world by realizing how alike I was to him in regards to my admiration for “artsy” stuff as well as playing the guitar. My dad had a darker side as well, and I’d later come to find that part of him was well alive within me, too. The part that was too eager to feel…or not feel. I still wonder if he was an Empath, too?

Nowadays, I tend to get taken advantage of for not setting healthy boundaries. I used to be motivated by my ego in that it always made me feel needed and like I served a great purpose when people would come to me for help whether it be advice or favors. In a way, it was a sort of mental manipulation game where two people are reflecting their needs off one another, and the minute a need is not fulfilled by the other a fight ensues, or perhaps if you’re lucky only a feeling of disappointment occurs. Regardless, there are expectations present, and as long as there are expectations, you should expect to know that they are simply resentments in waiting.

I had done this dance for years with people…friends, boyfriends…you name it.

And yet it never occurred to me once to put that same kind of energy into helping myself. Instead, the only attention I’d give myself was filling an emotional hole with shopping or wine, or going after dreams I thought I was supposed to follow, not necessarily the ones I’d buried deep in my heart.

And I can’t remember the exact moment when, but I know it was while I was still living in Chicago. I was standing in the kitchen and stopped dead in front of the refrigerator as I literally had an epiphany. And it was so ridiculously simple, and something I’d heard so many friends and relatives say to me a million times, but for whatever reason, for on that day, standing in front of a carton of OJ and a leftover pizza, I was buzzed to the core of my brain with the insight that maybe I needed to learn to love myself first, before I could ever really love another and before I could ever really be loved.

Perhaps if I just stopped exhausting myself with focusing so much on other people, and rather than expecting everyone else to validate me, I instead learned to love myself first…maybe just maybe things would actually be different instead of the Universe always throwing this same lesson at me? Umm…hello? Is there anyone in there? Lessons will repeat until they are learned.

A wise man once told me, “At first the Universe whispers in your ear; then it taps on your shoulder, and if you still don’t pay attention it will proceed to take a 2 by 4 to your head!” At that moment, this statement could not have been more true for me. What also came at that moment, in what I can only describe as what literally felt like a “download”, was that I’d been giving all these years coming from the wrong place, and that’s why it never felt good.

When you truly give from the heart, giving feels incredible because it is a pure, loving, selfless energy. The place I was always giving from was from fear and lack and a need to be appreciated, needed and wanted and therefore what I was giving came with expectations attached. And on a soul level, I knew this and since it went against what was true to my soul, it did not feel very good. I know now that I did this from never feeling good enough and from not healing old patterns that formed many, many years ago…

Remember, no matter what you’ve been through in life or where you come from, we are NOT our experiences or the things that have happened to us. We are what we do with these things and what we learn from them. We are the love we are willing to gain from our suffering as we let it tear our hearts apart. We are the joy we are willing to spread from the remembrance of who we truly are as conscious creators. And we are the energy, the particles, and space between, the visible and the unseen.

Learning how to give from the heart has been one of the most expanding things I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. Nothing has ever exposed me more to the human condition, connection or capabilities of the heart when opened and willing to relate to another. This is true humanity. Where nothing is trivial and even the most very small of acts of kindness affect the bigger things at hand, because as far out as the deepest reach of the cosmos and as close in as the quarks in our atomic DNA, we are all of it. And once you truly become aware of this, the connection to the rest of humanity opens up and remains unbroken. And you find yourself a part of something much, much bigger than yourself.

You realize that you haven’t just become a part of it, but rather have remembered your eternal place in it. And yet somehow…in the now, it will forever be a part of you.

Dr. Joe Dispenza Demystifies the Science of Pineal Gland Activation

By Dylan Charles | Waking Times

At the intersection of science and spirituality is the pineal gland, a small ductless gland in the center of the human brain. Hundreds of years ago it was dubbed ‘The Seat of the Soul‘ by French philosopher, mathematician and scientist, René Descartes, who observed that spiritual, visionary or transcendental experiences seemed to be collocated with the physical anatomy of this region of the head.

Mystical experiences do seem to emanate from this part of the mind, and in deep meditative states, a clear internal vision can open up, creating a full sensory experience which takes place wholly inside of the mind without the eyes. Yogis, shamans, and psychedelic adventurers have long known this to be true, and in moments of full activation there is an overwhelming sense that a door of sorts opens, expanding human perception and allowing the mind to connect with vast, unbelievable realms which exist outside of the mind but are only available to us within the mind. A paradox.

Is there a bridge between the world of multiple dimensions and the world we live in?

This is the question asked by Dr. Joe Dispenza, international lecturer, researcher and author of Becoming Supernatural: How Common People Are Doing the Uncommon. His work on spiritual science and unlocking human potential compliments our rigid scientific study of the body by allowing for the possibility of not yet understood links between mind and spirit.

For example, neuroscience has already established that the human brain operates at different resonant frequencies, or brain waves, which naturally cycle throughout the day and night. We don’t yet understand, however, how these frequencies work to create consciousness, or precisely how they relate to mystical experiences. We know that we can induce flow-like states of consciousness with tools such as brain wave entrainment audio recordings, but we get lost on our way toward spiritual experience.

Dispenza looks at the pineal gland as a kind of radio receiver which when tuned to different frequencies brings different programming to the observer. When tuned to the mystical or spiritual frequencies, we experience eg-dissolution and a connection to the cosmos. He notes:

“My interest in explaining this mystical science of the pineal gland is really thinking of the pineal gland as the brain’s radio receiver, and it can only be activated through a certain process. When this latent system switches on, the arousal that’s created is energy moving from the body right up into the brain.” ~Dr. Joe Dispenza

This is most notably similar to the experience of a kundalini awakening which can be triggered by rigorous cultivation in kundalini yoga. Described by many as serpent energy rising from the lower chakras up the spine and into the brain, the experience of a kundalini awakening is often life-changing, forever altering the perception of those who’ve experienced it and commonly offering a glimpse into the divine.

Relating this process to gamma brain wave patterns and the awakening of our internal, third eye vision, Dispenza continues:

“The moment that happens the brain goes into what’s called gamma brain wave patterns. They’re having a full on sensory experience without their senses and whatever is going on between their ears, the vision that they’re having, they’re not visualizing, it’s happening to them. And the person now is literally in a whole other world. They’re in another dimension. that’s why they pineal gland is called the third eye, because it’s a profound vision.”

Why Marianne Williamson Suggested ‘Prayer’ Could Shift Hurricane Dorian

By Joe Martino | Collective Evolution

In Brief

  • The Facts:Marianne Williamson suggested that ‘prayer’ could help shift hurricane Dorian away from land. The mainstream media and popular influencers did not take this very well, mainly because they didn’t understand it.
  • Reflect On:Are we really going to see deep truths and understandings about our reality come from the mainstream? Don’t we need conscious media to grow and become more popular so these conversations can be had on a larger scale to create change?

Marianne Williamson tweeted about how prayer and the power of the mind could potentially shift hurricane Dorian away from land and the media and influencers went a little haywire.

Her exact tweet, before she deleted it, read as follows, “The Bahamas, Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas…may all be in our prayers now. Millions of us seeing Dorian turn away from land is not a wacky idea; it is creative use of the power of the mind. Two minutes of prayer, visualization, meditation for those in the way of the storm.”

Many, including the opinions over at The View, have been seeing this as stupid, dangerous, silly and childlike. But is this idea really that crazy? Or was it just not explained properly?

The truth is, at least in my research, is that Marianne was referring to the power of consciousness and human intention which is widely recognized in scientific study as something that has merit. The US public and mainstream culture is fairly ignorant to this fact, but it doesn’t mean it’s not true.

My only feedback on how Williamson handled this was that perhaps this was a time to bring some of that research and evidence forward to enter into the public space as there is plenty of credible peer-reviewed research to go off of.

In the segment below I discuss in detail:

– What happened when Marianne made the Tweet

– The negative feedback she received and who it was from

– The science behind what she is referring to

– How this is an important time to shift culture in the West to understand the true nature of our reality

– How mainstream media is just keeping people stuck in a false reality.

You can watch the full segment below or join us at CETV on a 7 day free trial and become a member so we can continue to bringing consciousness into the mainstream conversation as it’s direly needed right now and we believe a more well-rounded discussion of current events is the future of media.

The Takeaway

It’s not a bad thing that the mainstream culture does not understand what Marianne was getting at, it just shows what is. What’s important however is that by having Marianne run she is creating conversations that CAN open people’s minds providing this more extended discussion happens. If we let the mainstream media control this conversation and ridicule her without providing a deeper analysis and the facts, then the culture will remain the same.

Hyperreality (or What Not There Isn’t To Believe?)

By Kingsley L. Dennis | kingsleydennis.com

The attraction of the void is irresistible.’ ~ Jean Baudrillard

If you feel like you are unsure of what is real and what is unreal then you are not alone. Our materialistic mode of life is accelerating and expanding so rapidly that it is saturating our modern cultures to the point of abstraction. Life in materially-privileged societies is increasingly shifting into a world of image and show. Many people today are living within their bubbles that are customized by all the digital conveniences tailored to individual needs. By being surrounded by conveniences that satisfy all our needs we are deliberately excluding so much else, including all of life’s serendipities.

Reality – whatever that is or was – has retreated behind a spectacle of make-believe that is playing at being the new, shimmering façade for the 21st century. One result of this is that things which once stood in opposition to one another are losing their meaning and becoming indistinguishable. That is, fixed identities that used to make life easy for us – us/them, friend/enemy, good/bad, and the rest – are now more like false realities. Life has shifted or has been pushed, into a realm of the invention that is being exploited ever more overtly by politicians, mainstream media, and their propaganda machinery. Out of this, a different sense of reality has emerged that succeeds in absorbing differences and contradictions and making them seem smooth rather than jagged. And the result is what I refer to as hyperreality.

The hyperreality pill

It is no longer the jagged pill we are forced to swallow, but the smooth pill we are willing to pop. And this smoothness is presented as succulent and easy to swallow. Our modern cultures want us to think that they are simple, smooth, and therefore require our willing obedience. As a consequence, many of us no longer know or care in knowing, where the resistance is. And if we do feel the need to express resistance, we find ourselves at a loss of where it should be placed. The ‘smooth ideal’ is that society is managed so there can be no efficient resistance against it. This is what Herbert Marcuse once referred to as a ‘comfortable, smooth, reasonable, democratic unfreedom.’ The hyperreal evades any real contact. It is like being at the end of a phone call when waiting for the automated voice service. This evasive strategy of the hyperreal has succeeded in obscuring any site of resistance. It’s all so ‘real,’ and yet, of course, it is not.

The original notion of hyperreality (a term borrowed from semiotics and postmodern theory) is an inability of consciousness to distinguish reality from a simulation of reality, especially in technologically advanced societies. We are no longer faced with the threat of struggling with our shadows – we are now faced with the threat of our clones. This may be the radical illusion we are slipping into.

Yet the radical illusion of the world has been faced by all cultures. It has been described by mystics, symbolized by art, and struggled over by philosophers. The notion of illusion is not the main issue – rather, it is the medium through which it is conveyed. Or, more importantly, whether it is deliberately exaggerated and amplified. And how by who – and why? An illusion is now perhaps our greatest industry, especially in western societies. Illusion is the consensus story we are told when growing up and which we all believe in. It’s the story that’s always been told because ‘that’s the way it’s always been.’ No wonder there is so much confusion, which is then fed by another great western industry – therapy.

Hyperreality plays a somewhat different game, with new rules and a different deck of cards. The paradox today is that those of us caught up in the game have no idea what the gameplay is. This is similar to a Jorge Luis Borges short story ‘The Lottery in Babylon’ where all activities in life are governed by the lottery; that is, by chance. And the lottery is run by ‘The Company,’ the rules of which not only are the rules of the game but become the rules of life. If that’s not confusing enough, then we need another hyperreality pill.

Please sir, can I have some more hyperreality?

Hyperreality – the inability to distinguish the real from simulation – has become our new reality structure (perception set) and is constructed so that everyone believes in it and goes along with it. There is an underlying feeling that something is not quite right, yet our sense of reality often appears so extreme that it becomes ‘extra-plausible.’ It appears that strange walls of falsehood are being erected between the individual and what is real. The result is a distortion of how we see things. In other words, a perception distortion. To put it simply, hyperreality can be described as the normalization of delusion. When mass society adheres to a collective delusion we call it normal or ‘reality,’ and if one person strays too far from this consensus thinking then we often label them as delusional, or unstable. It is as if we have been struck by on-coming car headlights and we are like dazed rabbits in the middle of the road. Better not sit around too long wagging our fluffy tails!

The hyperreal smoothes and soothes all contradictions. When once we thought we had ‘left’ politics and ‘right’ politics, these distinctions are now nullified. There is no more any ‘left’ or ‘right,’ only agendas that use varying means to acquire the same power. Any basis of truth has slipped into the sleek substitution – the simulation. Let me ask a question: Do we really think that the face of politics, for example, represents any vestige of truth? There is no more truth in politics than there is in someone wearing a laboratory coat in a television commercial trying to persuade us to buy a particular brand of detergent. There are persuasion and falsity that parades as an element of truth, yet it is a pure simulation. We have slipped into an age where the new ‘reality principle’ tells us that nothing is out of reach and that almost everything can be bought for a price. That is, the real is solid and exists as the flow of goods, services, desires, wants, pleasures, and almost instant availability.

The question now is how far can the world go before yielding to a permanent state of hyperreality? Perhaps we are already in this state right now; after all, the hyperreal is contagious, like a chain reaction. In the hyperreal world, the space of communications is condensed into the simultaneous now; marginal spaces on the periphery are now the hidden spaces where secrecy flows in offshore networks. Our networks of mobility and movement are fragmented into those that privilege some and exclude the many. Even the space above our heads is colonized by the satellites that spy on us. We have street views being watched and analyzed by Google. Our movement, speech, and text being spied on processed and interpreted by intelligent algorithms. We have injected a ‘smart-virus’ into the Earth in order to monitor all activity.

Our smooth digital flows allow – with precision and efficiency – for many aspects of our national and private economies to be shifted to the periphery where the secret networks operate. Only the hyperreal economies remain in the spotlight. There is now a global offshore world that moves in exclusive, mostly secretive networks. The phenomenon of offshoring has transformed peripheral and marginal places into central nodes. Offshored economies had mostly operated in the unseen shadows until the scandal of the Panama Papers in 2015. This massive leaking of documents led to political and celebrity scandals across the world, forcing many politicians to resign from their coveted positions. Presidents are now further pressed to release their tax returns to prove their legitimacy. Yet with the farce within the hyperreal, such players as US President Donald Trump can evade these processes with blatant deceptions. Offshored secrecy and surveillance are central to the functioning of contemporary societies.

Hyperreality is also about the disappearance.

Please sir, can you tell me where I can find some hyperreality?

Hyperreality is not only about speed and velocity; it is also about size – things are condensing into ever-smaller spaces before disappearing altogether. Our urban habitats, information flows, financial transactions, have all shown increased density at the same time as velocity. Financial crashes today are more explosive because they affect so many more systems on a global level. They are dense in their complexity.

At the core of the condensed form what we once knew as the real begins to disappear. At the extremity of economics, the value of money disappears. At the extremity of warfare, there is no real humanity, only insanity, and immense sorrow, loss, and pain. At the extremity of sexuality, there is no warmth only the pornography of lust and the commodity of desire. At the extremity of goodness, there is the greed to do good. And even at the extremity of love, there is no real love, but obsession and possession. Within these extremities, we lose touch with anything that once came close to the real. We are in the slipstream of the hyperreal where the substitute replaces its former host. And the substitute is ‘always-on’ 24/7.

An ‘always-on’ hyperreal world also creates the illusion of mobility. Precisely because we can be connected throughout the world by the technologies in our pocket we are no longer required to move. We can be in the office while speaking with colleagues across the globe or chatting with friends on another continent whilst remaining seated on our sofas. The contradiction here is that hypermobility creates its own sedentary life. This was explored in the sci-fi film Surrogates (2009) where people purchase remote-controlled humanoid robots to conduct their social life and affairs whilst the real person remains at home wired to their chair. Of course, everyone chooses a pretty or handsome humanoid to represent them (just like avatars in the online world) whilst their real bodies lie fat and underused in the unmoving chair.

We have yet little cultural experience to protect us from the invasion of simulation, artificiality, and the hyperreal. It has all happened too quickly for us and our senses have not fully adjusted. Some of us are struggling with aching bodies, restless sleep cycles, and tired eyes from all the screens in our lives. It is not motion sickness we are suffering from more and more but monitor sickness. One of the features of hyperreality is that communication occurs extremely rapidly, and we are bombarded with information almost constantly.

The hyperreal brings to the fore a convincing collection of disastrous non-events. Everything that is happening somehow gets reported, transmitted, and commented upon, creating an explosive babble of micro-impacts that dominate our superficial conversations. Then the next day they have disappeared into a black hole of amnesia and replaced by another twenty-four-hour dose of attention-topics. This hyperreal lifestyle creates a background noise; a seemingly endless low static buzz that infests our everyday spaces. It’s like the static we experience when changing radio channels, or when a digital television channel isn’t yet synchronized.

Many of us are living in a high-velocity, always-connected, post-historic world. For those people who are not yet attuned to this it is highly unpleasant. Things seemingly take place, but we are not quite sure. This is the dilemma. The hyperreal takes the wounded soul and Photoshops it into a caricature of its former self. It becomes glorified and falsely beautified into the less real, but with hyper-appeal. Events and issues are glossed over, making truths little more than quick sound-bites that flash before our eyes. Despite these absurdities we are still living in a world that is physically very real.

The hyperreal in overreaction and overload

We ultra-react because we are continually under bombardment by a stream of information that keeps us in overload. We wish to know as much as possible about what is going on in our environment because this used to be an evolutionary survival strategy for our ancestors. Yet our distant ancestors didn’t have the Internet, smartphones, and a whole array of connected gadgets – they had clubs and hatchets. We’ve changed our rhythms, or rather our new technologically-pervasive environment has altered our rhythms, and we’ve not had sufficient time biologically, as well as psychologically, to adjust.

We are waking up to a world in a new rhythm, with a new, faster speed and an altered resonance; and frankly for most of us it makes us feel as if we’re partially inebriated. The world is making our children respond to its hyperreal energy, and then subsequently we go about tranquilizing them. The rise of young schoolchildren in the modern world taking medications for ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is phenomenal. In such a world it becomes much harder to practice and maintain certain types of attention, such as contemplative, reflective, and introspective thought. We are accessing information, yet less so are we translating this information into rich, interior states or memories.

It is as if we are afraid to be bored. We may feel that being bored – or being boring – is a failure; that we have failed to make use of all the information and opportunities at our fingertips. Yet the brain is continually working hard to process all information and external impacts, and so we need to take time off to relax, recharge, and replenish. We need to retain our attentiveness instead of giving in to the lazy approach of digitally-offloading our attention. We cannot navigate our own path through life by GPS. At the same time, retaining attention should not require artificial, chemical inducers. Nor should it require copious amounts of fantasy masquerading as the real.

Many highly developed cultures are already basking in the ‘Disneyfication’ effect where western commercial pursuits, practices, and values are promoted around the world as a panacea for all. Disneyfication gives us bigger, faster, and better entertainment that’s the same the world over – US mass culture values on the global stage. Disneyfication hides the ‘real’ places, yet paradoxically many people seem to prefer being in the imaginary. Perhaps its real function is to make us believe that the rest of society is imaginary and only that which resides within the walls of Disney is real. In the hyperreal the spectacle becomes the lived space of our social lives. Disney is colonizing our lives and that colonization becomes the new world map.

The Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges famously wrote of a great Empire that created a map that was so detailed it was as large as the Empire itself. The actual map grew and decayed as the Empire itself conquered or lost territory. When the Empire finally crumbled, all that remained was the map. This ‘imaginary map’ finally became the only remaining reality of the great Empire: a simulation of the once physical reality that has now been colonized by its own spectacle. This is where the Real loses its center and becomes origin-less.

The hyperreal too evades a sense of origin, which accounts for the rise in nostalgia, retro-revival, and people dressing up as superheroes. Star trek conventions, speaking Klingon, and entering a whole new universe meshes with the online worlds and their avatars. In the realm of the hyperreal the origin is origin-less, and real place is place-less. We are given new maps of celebration and celebrity that hide a commodity fetishism – yet where is the meaning? We crave for meaning.

The hyperreal incorporates everything within itself. There is no outer or inner within its realm. The only escape is a form of transcendence – a process or act of gnosis – that can see through the superficiality of the spectacle. This is the current dilemma – our systems are extending but not transcending themselves. Many of us are in this situation: we go for more of the same, only a little bit different. The answer lies in becoming beyond difference. Life has always been a sequence of events that we ascribe meaning too.

When we experience this sequence in a reasonable enough form then we create our meanings. It is when this sequence of events and signs becomes asymmetrical, non-linear, or accelerated beyond our limits of standardized perception that we begin to lose our ability to ascribe significance to it. Hyperreality is the zone where this slippage occurs and meaning loses its anchorage. The result is that we feel we are being carried away from ourselves. We are being pulled into the flux and flow of this hyperreality and we lose sight of the ground. Not only the grounded-ness of place, but also our inner ground – that part of us which makes us feel human. It is the soulful part of us that we are losing.

In these hyperreal times we need to find a new balance and arrangement between things. Our old arrangements are shifting, and those things once in perceived stability and order are losing their moorings. We should remember that the ‘Real’ exists somewhere inside of us and keep this in mind as the world outside continues its head-long rush into a frenetic, whirlwind of chaotic events. In the end, we can only truly rely on our own good sense and intuition. As Václev Havel stated in one of his addresses, ‘Transcendence is the only real alternative to extinction.’

We must try to remain stable and as sane as possible as life accelerates into its own hyperreality. Otherwise we may not find our own center within the global maelstrom. The ride has only just begun.
