3 Ways to Master the Art of Congruent Living

To live a congruent life simply means to be living in space that you have consciously created for yourself. A space that serves a great purpose and acts as the foundation upon which you manifest excellence into your life. This is a space where you’ve taken delicate care to tend to, always making sure it’s neat and tidy and ever-expanding.

If you are sitting there asking yourself if you even have such a space, don’t worry you are not alone. In fact, most of us don’t consciously take the time to give ourselves one moment of relaxation at the end of a full day. Somewhere along the line, it’s as if a new software was installed in our psyches that told us life always had to be hard; and that if it wasn’t, then we were doing something wrong.

Often times, along with such core beliefs that have taken root deep within us, other beliefs that don’t always serve us start to form and grow as well. We might believe that only when we struggle do we deserve happiness; that it must always come with a price. Or even worse, that we are unworthy of happiness (or love) at all.

And perhaps that is the key to it all…which reminds me of every old 50’s romance tune…love is all you need, right? But is that enough? Well, yes…and no. See, love in and of itself is not out for itself. It just IS. And perhaps that is it’s greatest lesson to soak in from dancing on the edge of it’s madness to falling into it’s most frightening and dark depths of another human soul. But there must be consciousness behind the love for it to have meaning. Meaning, we as our awesome human selves, determine the level at which we can experience love, by the amount we are willing to give love, be vulnerable, and open to taking some indefinite leaps of faith. Love leads us to some intense and scary places sometimes, and yet collectively we continue to innately know that to have love in our lives, is to have peace in our hearts. And that, I believe is the first step to true happiness, or what I like to call, “congruent living”.

From years of studying the connection between the heart and the mind, as well as the principles of Quantum Mechanics, I can comfortably say that anyone, no matter the race, gender, creed, nationality, etc. has the capability to manifest peace within their own hearts. Even in the most dire of suffering, this noble act is not some mystic’s tale. In fact it is often within suffering itself that we are lead to the conscious awareness of the true amount of control we have over the quality of our lives; merely for the fact we have control over the quality of our thoughts…

Overall, there are 3 major pieces to living life congruently:

The first would be that the consciousness must be present that the power to bring peace to one’s heart resides within oneself. This can manifest in many different ways for many different people, but usually accompanies a major event of some kind ranging from a near-death drowning or car accident, or losing someone close to you. Getting a reminder that nothing is trivial and all we truly have is this moment is the quickest and shortest route to gaining this conscious awareness. But it doesn’t have to be that serious all the time. And by that I mean, if you learn to listen to the subtle messages of the Universe, it will gently whisper in your ear instead of taking a proverbial 2×4 to your head when you choose to ignore it. 🙂

Once you can find peace within your own heart, you have just taken the “For Sale” sign off of that space I mentioned earlier on. You’ve allowed yourself to make perhaps one of the greatest investments in your overall health because now you have a “go-to”. Some people get to their space through breathing exercises, or simply taking a moment to close their eyes and imagine their favorite vacation beach. And yet other people will think of loved ones, or anything that ignites a sense of inner joy, gratitude, connection to the Source of life. Basically we are by-passing the logical brain often lead by the ego that convinces of we aren’t worthy of stepping into these higher vibrational states of living.

The second way to master living a life of congruence would be to always be pushing yourself to step more and more into your greatness. Meaning, do more of what makes you feel alive, do what you’re good at and what you enjoy sharing with others. This is true giving of yourself and of your gifts and the more you do it, the greater you expand your space. Think of it like an interior upgrade or like putting an addition onto the house.

The third and final masterful activity would include welcoming not only the “good” stuff, but not avoiding the “bad”. To always see the lesson in the pain is true sight. To be able to view yourself and your life without judgment, but always with conscious movement towards embodying our most true selves, is absolute congruent living.

When you look at your life and see the balance amongst even what some might call “chaos”, is to have expanded your vision into the realm of “anything goes” when it comes to manifestation. Allowing yourself to be open to the opportunity for growth and expansion as your inner roots climb deep down into the dark, is what gives the fruits above the life-source to bloom and blossom. And as my mentor always says, “The deeper the roots, the sweeter the fruits.”

Have a most fruitful, congruent week everyone! <3

The Multiple Connections From a Single, Conscious Breath

Image result for sacred breathThe average human takes about 20,000 breaths per day, and yet most people don’t really give breathing much thought until perhaps they are coughing from a glass of juice going down the wrong pipe. But this simple act; this sustaining, inescapable wave we ride to survive, and our most intimate way of intermingling with the outside environment, has always fascinated me on so many levels. Because it’s something we either can do consciously or unconsciously, awake or sleeping and we can even purposely stop breathing (hold our breath) if we so choose.

Breathing is one bodily function we have a strange amount of control over and interaction with and I’ve come to find with also studying ancient teachings such as the Vedas (Pranayama), is that the breath is a bridge. With breath-work, we can learn to control other bodily functions such as heart rate and thought-processing. And then we learn to open doors to higher states of consciousness as focused breathing leads to calm connections to your silent center.

When we take even one moment in our day to take a big, deep, focused breath, we are giving ourselves the chance to connect with our body, rather than running on auto-pilot. Focused breath is nourishing to the soul and replenishes the spirit with the pure essence of life. This is why we “sigh” when we are at a loss, irritated, etc. It is an innate response to push our exhaustion out and away from us through our breath and thus then pull back from the ethers a quick re-connection to life-force energy.

Breathing calmly, yet deeply is one of the quickest ways to reduce anxiety and nervousness. And for the same reason, I just mentioned above. It re-centers and re-connects. And to be honest, I feel this is actually the very first step on the actual path of Spirituality. Let me explain…

When someone finally “wakes up” and starts asking questions about themselves, life, the world at large we live in, and the great expanse of the Universe, they may do what I did and feel like they need to learn EVERYTHING…NOW.

I honestly couldn’t tell you when I woke up as I came out of the womb questioning authority and making my own rules, but ever since I can remember I’ve been drawn to every New Age (even though I’m not a fan of this term), Spiritual, Anarchist, Hippie-esque, Eco-Loving, Quantum Physics, Ancient Civilizations, Sacred Geometry, Anti-Orwellian, Hidden Knowledge & History, Hermetic Laws, Pleiadian, Nikola Tesla book I could get my freaking hands on.

But the greatest thing perhaps I’ve ever read was a simple phrase that said, “Everything you ever need to know is already within you.” Reading this quote for the first time literally froze me in time, I’m convinced of that. It stood still, I’d bet my life on it.

You all know that feeling when life hits you with such a realization/revelation, it is like Source itself cracked open your soul and imparted you with a remembrance of who you are. You feel so grounded and at peace, it’s like nothing can touch you because you are in everything. Image result for sacred breath quote

And this comprehension opens the door to understanding that the acts of inhaling and exhaling within biological forms are mere reflections of the grand breath of Source…the pulse of Divine Creation. We are here to learn ONE lesson and ONE lesson only; that we are ONE with everything and everyone. There is NO separation. And we achieve that learning by starting to pay attention to one single breath.

With this single breath, we can see that the inhale is constricting, hard, tense. Everything feels like it’s under pressure and pushing against one another. “Matter” is condensed and space is tight/cold. The exhale is freeing and a release. It is pure expanse and movement; energy/heat. In the breath, we witness the balance that is in all of Nature; the Yin & the Yang.

And this reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend of mine the other night about how the breath of the Universe could be applied to matter .vs antimatter with the former being the inhale (condensed to a single form) and the latter being the exhale (explosion).

To think that “breathing” is how the Universe physically creates is a mind-boggling, humbling, and heart-warming perception. We can actually witness this via Quantum wave-function. (It all starts with a sound, but let’s save that for another article).

Ahhhhhh….It’s great to be alive!

And don’t forget to inhale the good sh*t…exhale the bullsh*t! 🙂

What is All This Shift Sh*t About Anyway?

Related imageWhen I was a teenager, there was nothing I loved to do more than to hop in my Jeep and go drive the back roads of Pennsylvania. I loved it so much in fact that I have more memories of my Jeep being brown than black due to it constantly being covered in mud.

My love for nature and the freedom of the open road has never left me, and as strange as it might sound, the recent eclipse has stirred up some deep-rooted memories of what freedom, creation, and expression really mean…at least to me on a personal level. On a VERY personal level in fact.

My dreams lately have been so incredibly vivid and where I normally wouldn’t remember things, the finest and apparently most significant details are there with me, even on throughout the day. I feel as if, no matter what, there is something refusing to let me let go of this information I am supposed to have at this time in my life. I FEEL it in every inch of my being. And I imagine this is what it feels like to truly trust your own intuition for the very first time and to literally surrender to it completely.

My usual M.O. is to get continuous downloads and know I’m getting some juicy and quite useful stuff I can be aptly applying to my own life, and so I journal the shit out of it with the full intention to do just that. But then something happens…or rather does not, and often times I just end up sitting on these gems after some justification that I’m waiting to throw them in a future book I’m “going to write” or saving it as “program material” for clients I don’t even have within my circle yet.

Do you see the issue here? While it’s great to have plans, goals and a pool of resources to contribute to as well as draw from, we need to also realize that when we are always living from a space of becoming, that we never actually get there…we never actually become what we want because we do not ever let go of that space of “still getting there-ness”. We, of course, need to do the work and the healing, however, we cannot expect there to be this glorious moment of revelation that tells us it’s time to take the next step. It is US who decides when we are ready; no one else.

And so this brings me to what everyone in the spiritual community is calling The Shift or perhaps more commonly, “The Great Awakening”. From an un-awakened, individual perspective, the world looks like complete chaos and a world impervious to compassion or positive change. That is only a perspective of what the outer reality is offering; one possibility and it’s not looking good. And when we focus on the changes occurring on such a granular level, we make it quite difficult to not only connect with others to be able to offer and receive information but to even clearly see into their world at all. And this leaves it even harder to see any other perspective. This reminds me of the difference between “being awake” and someone who is “woke”.

Imagine having a can of paint dumped onto your windshield of your car and trying to see inside; yeah it’s kinda like that. You see, we are all the world unto ourselves, each a unique dimension of Source expression that has merely tricked itself into temporarily believing that it is separate and fragmented, and therefore we experience that on a level of humanity as a deep sense of unworthiness, confusion and need to love and be loved. So, in essence, that is the illusion we are here to overcome, not that EVERYTHING is an illusion. If everything was an illusion, then there would be no Source, and since we know everything comes from Source, then everything is definitely not an illusion. The only true illusion is that we must hold onto the ideas of reality that we are presented with from outside sources that do not resonate our own Truth.

All I hear throughout the New Age community so often is so many “should’s” that insist we must always be for or against something, or must in in a battle with something. I admit to being overwhelmingly lost in the need to have every last book and attend every last festival and try to meet every last spiritual mentor, and honestly there’s nothing wrong with that, but when you lose who you are, in the attempt to find who you are, well that kind of defeats the entire purpose.

Anything that doesn’t feel good is an indicator that you are living within time. To some that may instantly confuse, to other, it may instantly resonate. I won’t get too deep into it, but all things happen simultaneously and like an old picture show there is only the moment of now and life simply is all these “nows” spliced together to appear as happening in a linear progression. But now you know better…I hope. And I also hope you pay more attention to how you seem to “lose” track of time when you’re having fun or in a good mood AKA high vibration. It is literally because good feelings; positive emotions take you OUT of time. I can and will write a whole other article on what you can do with that another time…

So, back to the Shift and how to so many all over the world see chaos when some see order. How is this possible when we are all in the same world? It’s because again, we are not. We are all our OWN worlds, and we decide what we. When you respond to another’s opinion or perspective you are merely interacting with their world, not your own. And this is such a useful tool in helping you work out conflicts and karma in your current relationships and ancestral lineage.

For so long we have been living in the energy of the Mind and to me “The Shift” simply represents humanity moving into the energy of the Heart, so that we are best prepared to integrate it all in the Solar Plexus or our Seat of Intuition. But honestly, I feel that the entire point of this energetic upgrade is for people to recognize their own power and reclaim it so you are reminded that there is no higher source of truth that your higher Self; therefore it’s pushing YOU to decide for yourselves what this sh*t is all about! 🙂

How to Hear the Whisper of Wisdom Beneath the Ego’s Cries

Most of us have heard of the ego and Sigmund Freud’s work around it which tells us that it’s development is a necessary part of who we are.  Without it, there is no “I” for us to identify with. Freud goes onto claim that without the ego, our minds would have no conscious way to comprehend where “we” end and the rest of the world “begins”. Image result for quotes on the ego freud

I’ve always been a HUGE fan of Freud’s (more so around his less-popular theories on sexuality) and completely agree that without our egos, we would all be leaning toward completely unmotivated. The ego, if used properly as the tool is it meant to be, can show us areas within ourselves that still need healing. The trick, however, to working with the ego is to remember that it does WHATEVER it takes to prevent expansion, growth, change and pretty much anything outside of your comfort zone. It is an expert at convincing you that you are making good, productive choices for yourself when in actuality you literally could be setting lit matches to your proverbial treehouse.

So, the key here is to first study the ego and figure out exactly how it works and maneuvers. Guaranteed it is always sneaky, coercive, and slick in how it will make suggestions for your next move, word or action. But once we know how it works, we’ve pretty much disabled out ego’s best weapon (stealth). And now, we just need to keep playing the game and observing.

As we watch our ego in play we will begin to see patterns emerge which will make clear exactly how we are “still stuck” in life situations we swore to ourselves we would’ve had resolved weeks, months or even years ago. We will begin to see how our ego was the one whispering in our ear that “He’ll change and treat me with kindness if I just stick around long enough and prove how much I love him.” or “I deserve to eat this tub of ice cream because I had such a bad day today.”

There are ENDLESS examples that we could list here, but the point is, anything you can think of where you’re subconscious mind convinced you to do something that was not in your best interest, that was not serving your highest Self, was the workings of your EGO doing what it does best and keeping you in the same little box it has grown to love and adore to keep you living small!

So, how do we beat this little trickster at its’ own game? First, we need to find that place in our hearts to stop looking at the ego through eyes of judgment and see it through the eyes of love. Only then can we shift the energy around our ego from one of annoyance and avoidance to one of willingness to integrate what we can learn from it. And eventually, this process will allow us to grow past the blocks that the ego has previously succeeded with throwing onto our path.

When we know ahead of time the signature signs that certain thoughts, motivations, reactions, etc. are ego-driven, then we are empowered with the knowledge of how to take the next best step. And an uninformed person with a leading ego might end up writing a bunch of accusatory emails they later regret, or shout at their children for no reason, or sabotage a health regimen they’ve put in place for themselves. Why? Because their ego was successful in convincing them it was in their best interest in that particular moment, and because they were in “reactive” mode (letting the outer world determine their moods, thoughts, next move, etc.) they went with it. Related image

This is the difference between living a life of struggle and living a life of true empowerment. As we learn to master the latter, of course, we may shift back and forth between the two as with anything it’s definitely a learning process. However, the more you take the time to observe yourself and your ego the more familiar you become with it all and the simpler it becomes to stay in PRO-active mode.

Once you get a taste of empowered living, there’s no giving that up, there’s no going back to sleep. It would be like locking away your most valuable tool and never using it again; because you have seen how when you move from a proactive, empowered place, the game is yours and YOU now make the rules. Do you feel the difference there? Between insecure, needy, fear-based ego and secured, empowered, healthy ego? Image result for quotes on the ego freud

I truly believe the ego is meant to help humanity, not harm it. It is only when we as individuals allow our minds and actions to be ruled by ego does it negatively affect our lives and the lives of those around us. But the ego is best used as a compass of sorts, pointing the way to what areas within us need healing and integration so we can rise up energetically and show up in our lives as we were meant to; connected, yet unique slivers of cosmic Creator Consciousness.

If we listen closely, there is another voice underneath the egos’ loudness that speaks only Truth and has only our best interest in mind. This voice belongs to our intuition, our Higher Selves (Spirit) and if we wish to master the use of our egos, it is wise to let it be guided by Spirit. This is how we develop “healthy” egos that allow us to speak up for ourselves, say no to people with feeling guilty, say yes to people without feeling drained, speak our Truth, and stand authentically in our lives without feeling insecure or feeling the need to incessantly compare ourselves to others.

Another gauge of a healthy ego is that we are okay spending time with ourselves and doing things on our own. We really only feel the need to reach out for assistance when truly necessary and learn to truly value the time, energy and presence of others – because that is how much we now value our own time, energy and presence.

Much love and have a most excellent weekend! <3

Divine Causation: Nothing Moves But Mind

Move your hand for a moment. Wiggle your fingers around. Now think about it and tell me what really just moved. What really was the motivational force? Seems like a pretty obvious answer, right? Wrong. 🙂 The action of your hand was a result, but a result of what? Well, it was an effect of the action of your bones, which were effects of the actions of your muscles, which were effects of electrical impulses from your nervous system, which were effects of synapses between neurons in your brain, which were effects of…what? The (usually subconscious) thought to move your hand in the first place. But where did the thought come from? Your consciousness or Higher Mind (with a capital “M”) set in motion. In other words, IT moved. And in fact, that is all that ever does. Let me explain…

We go about our daily lives, mostly unaware that all of our actions are simply effects of one grand idea, one cause unfolding. But if we stop and look at the Universe as one Divine Mind or Infinite Consciousness expanding to know itself, then it only makes sense that we are unique yet integral and interwoven parts of that Divine Mind, and everything we do are expressions or moverumiments of it as well. But what or who are “we”? Let’s find out. Are we in our toes? Our arms? Our heads? No.

“We” are not IN our body at all, but rather our body is within us, (our Consciousness) and once we remove consciousness from the body, it is simply biological matter. It does not move. The body is material, organic, physiological, & temporary; a fleeting melody, while consciousness is vibratory, energetic, resonate & infinite; an eternal symphony. It is not our body that gives us life, but rather consciousness, that gives life to the body.

Many of us live in a reactive state to the world around us and believe that “stuff out there” is just unpredictable happenings that we have no control over and that’s just the way it is. That life is meant to be hard and nothing is earned without suffering and pain. While both suffering and pain can be excellent guides to your higher purpose, they are by no means vital or necessary to life. These are limited perceptions of the infinite perfection of the Universe that we play over and over on the screens in our minds.

The mind moves in the direction of our currently dominant thoughts.” – Earl Nightingale

Our perceptions of the world ultimately form our beliefs, which shape the stories we tell ourselves, which create the experiences we have. It’s a big cycle of creation, really, however many are unaware of it. But there are a growing number of us who see through a different type of lens, who choose to live fully present, fully conscious in how this cycle works and are vicious gatekeepers of what perceptions we take on. Instead of placing us in a victim mentality of fight or flight, us vs. them, and competition, this awareness brings into focus a way of seeing the world as a place of cosmic cooperation, divine design, and emerging empowerment; a reality that is instead being created by our own conscious participation IN it. Where you not only see the effects of the Mind moving, but you can consciously climb the ladder of effects back to the Source of the cause with ease. And it always leads up to the Mind; to Consciousness.

What is paradigm-shift worthy and awesome about the Universe is one is not fated to stay in one belief over another. Humanity is gifted with this too-often-taken-for-granted part of conscious awareness called “free will”. All it takes is a simple shift in our present consciousness, in our currently paralyzing paradigm, in how we choose not only to look at the world, but also how we choose to SEE it, to turn a struggle or strife into strength. The Divine Mind (some may refer to it as God or Source) does not know the resonance of lack; it only knows the wholeness of NOW. And “now”, this moment; forever unfolding is always fulfilled in its perfection, no matter what label man tries to throw on it or what category man tries to throw it in. And it is always whole, as are we and perhaps that is our true purpose here on Earth; to discover our wholeness in this very moment. And to know that we are not here to “make something of ourselves”, but to simply let the light within us already find its way to the surface and shine.

divine_soulSo, how about we start seeing our true value and worth right now and stop looking for our riches in others or in “stuff” outside of ourselves; because the moment we do, the treasure that was there all along (within us) will unearth itself. When we know in our hearts that we are flowing waves in the cosmic ocean, we also take on the awareness that we are never truly judged, as every experience (wave) we initiate (crash) is movement (progress) in the great expanse. And that movement is what matters, not the stories we tell ourselves about it. We begin to realize that life does not happen to us, but through us. And if we’re open enough to it, we just might allow the truth of the matter into our hearts that we are the best ideas the Divine Mind has ever had. And if that’s not a moving thought, I don’t know what is.

Cosmic Confirmations: How the Universe Speaks Through Synchronicities

SynchronicityIf you’ve been reading my articles for a while, then you know that I believe we are all connected and therefore all part of the same, universal cosmic web. The web that contains everything that ever was, is and could be.  The place where all information rests, and everything that has ever been created, and everything waiting to be created (in some form of nothingness we cannot yet comprehend) reside. This is where all aspirations, inspirations, ideas, genius, madness, intuitions, inhibitions, and movement of creative force draw from. Some call it simply the Universe, others call it the Field, and yet others may say it is even an extension of the Akashic Records. All I know for sure…is this web of flowing energy is where the magic happens!

It is also where I believe guideposts or success markers in the form of synchronicities fall from. I believe there are different kinds of synchronicities; however they all at some level act as a sort of confirmation or redirection back to a previous thought or intention. A thought or intention that you had meant to act on, that for some reason perhaps you did not. And while it may have seemed like a trivial feat, plays a vital and significant role in your life plan or what I like to call your blueprint.

I’m an avid believer of reincarnation, but that belief is two-fold and we’ll save that for another article. Long story short, I feel that you can incarnate either “awake” or “asleep”. Of course, if you incarnate “asleep”, you can awaken during your lifetime. In fact, many people see that as the ultimate reason for reincarnation at all. My theory behind it goes a step further and has to do with what is called the Matrix.

(Here’s a sample from my upcoming book, All Within: A Quantum Guide for the Conscious Traveler I feel this fits right in with how what synchronicities are when viewed as program systems, i.e. calendar reminders, ROM-upgrades, etc.) …” I also believe we are living in an artificial Matrix system…and if you are reading this, then that’s most likely not a new or foreign subject for you at all. I tend to see this Matrix system exactly as portrayed in the famed film; like a simulation of sorts being run on, around and of us, and we act as individual computer programs – each with our own functions, abilities, and intelligence. There is an unseen force acting upon us, holding the illusion in place, and sometimes, once in a while, you see the lady in the red walk by and it stops you dead in your tracks. You instinctively know she’s valuable to connecting some previously existing data in your memory bank. And with emotion about to really get you into it, to get your awareness front and center with a racing pulse, warming lower extremities, shortness of breath, and a glistening sweat…your physical form has followed suit and takes the so-called coincidence of a beautiful woman who stands out like a sore thumb, deep into your consciousness to manifest a subconscious creative force that had previously lain dormant in a prior version of what we could call “software”.  In my understanding, there is also a holistic, organic system that this artificial Matrix runs in conjunction with…a system of spirit that draws directly from Gaia, or what we may know better as simply, Mother Earth.”

So, what exactly are synchronicities, and what purpose(s) do they serve? Essentially, synchronicities could simply be explained as meaningful coincidences. While I have a firm respect for the honesty and governance of mathematics, I don’t really favor coincidence much. I like to say there’s so much to synchronicities than mere chance and that they have everything in the Universe to do with energy, the Law of Attraction, and intention.  It seems not a week goes by these days that I don’t come across an article where scientists have come out with further evidence showing how our thoughts create our world. With this knowledge, we can confidently say that when we are focusing our thoughts on a certain person, topic, event, or thing we wish to happen or not happen…we subconsciously draw into our lives not only actual things that resonate with that person, topic, event or thing, etc. but even simple psychological representations and symbols of them as well. This can get as etheric as you wish…seeing repeating number patterns; each which carry their own energy signature. (Most famous I think are reports of people seeing 11:11 constantly).

If you are wanting a red Mustang convertible more than anything in the world, then chances are you are going to start seeing them on the road more often, you will hear about them more in conversation, you will attract people who are into Mustangs as much as you are, etc. This can happen with anything you enjoy and explains why we love being around people who enjoy the same things we do; there’s a certain frequency there and you are all tuned into it. You all most likely would bear witness to the similar type of synchronicities.

Examples: Thinking of someone and then them calling you on the phone two minutes later…When something causes you to be late for work and you later find out you avoided a car accident…Having a gut feeling over and over about a person that you cannot ignore and it turns out to be correct…Literally asking the Universe for confirmation on a choice you made and getting it through only things that make sense to YOU! <3

These parallel events that simply bear no logical explanation can get stranger and harder to deny. Sometimes they are even life-altering to the point they cause people to make huge life changes like quitting smoking or drinking or starting to treat others more kindly where previously they were abusive. I consider “Near-death experiences” to be synchronistic in nature, and perhaps of the highest form for the level of effect they seem to have on people.

Whatever the “level” of synchronicity, I feel they all appear in our lives for a greater purpose. Ultimately, perhaps their purpose is to get our attention, redirect, get us to think, notice, wonder, and ponder. They are inserted into the program purposely (by whom, now that’s another conversation!), and I believe they are there to help most definitely. I personally have taken more notice of the synchronicities occurring in my life and in doing so I feel like I’ve had some extra light shone in some otherwise dark and confusing areas. When I’ve had trouble making decisions or finding confidence that I was on the right path, there have been many of these confirming events that were nothing beyond miraculous to me. And I say that not because I can’t believe how these events aligned, but that I can believe it, and the simple beauty in that alone is what I feel allows the connection to these confirmations to occur in the first place…it’s what opens us up to our own power and ability to create in and interact with the web…you know, make the magic happen. 🙂

Alchemical Secrets to Help Keep You Focused

Image result for alchemist turns all things to loveFor as long as I can remember I’ve been completely fascinated with the elements, the laws of Nature, sacred geometry, energy, and how it all comes together in a sort of fancy cosmic toolbox that we can all learn to use through ancient alchemical processes.

Now, I’m not talking about literally mixing some lyrium with dragonroot under the 3rd phase of the moon to gain +5 mana, but hey…yesterday’s Merlin is today’s Spiritual Alchemist, right?

No, the chemistry, the reactions, the changes I speak of refer to those specific ‘problem’ areas of your life. As cosmic Creator beings, we are all modern-day wizards and witches with more power to control what goes into and comes out of our very own lives than we are ever told, but I’m sure to have continually imagined throughout the years.

I’m referring to power in the Now or what I love to call ‘hacking the Matrix’. If we start to think of all outside events that attempt to bring us out of alignment (away from a feeling of being centered, calm, focused, relaxed, whole, peaceful, etc.) as simple programs running, then it becomes easier to then also recognize that we always have the choice if we want to run those programs or not.

Next time you are attempting to focus on something you are doing and feel continually distracted, you will immediately see a program attempt to run that wants to make you feel impatient and annoyed and trigger you to do the exact opposite thing of what you are trying to do. However,  if you simply recognize that fact, rather than react to it, you take away its INSTALL or RUN options and instead hit CANCEL. What you’re really doing is consciously clearing away that energy via an intention from your heart.

A good motivator to remind you to take a moment to actually choose whether to INSTALL or to CANCEL is remembering why you are doing what you are trying to focus on, to begin with. In meditation, we always come back to the breath, and here we would instead come back to the task at hand. This can be likened to the alchemical process of Calcination.

Calcination is the process in alchemy when matter decomposes. So, in this case, it fits into letting all things but your goal, cause, etc. fall away from the moment so that just your object of focus remains in the ethers of your current reality. It can then more easily reclaim its place within our center sights.

Once we have taken the proverbial reigns of our own awareness and continue to make these conscious choices as to what programs are installed into our reality or not, we are likely to see vast improvements in our self-confidence, judgments, and willingness to show up in life. This can be likened to the alchemical process of Dissolution.

Dissolution is when we start to feel less identified with the programs and more with our inner world. Suddenly we become aware of how our own behavior might affect other people and we actually start paying attention to how we feel and how those around us feel. The key here is learning how to maintain a balance of compassion while not being a pushover. Maintaining a kind and open heart while creating a space where others can feel safe to release triggers, trauma, shadows, etc. is no easy task, but one that inevitably brings you more in tune with abilities to concentrate. This occurs the more we choose rather than react in life.

The less reactive we are, the more forgiving we allow ourselves to be. Where quick judgments are made, no room is left for grace, patience, and humility which must be present to ever heal resentment. We must be willing to let go to receive. This can be likened to the alchemical process of Separation.

Separation is where we isolate all components from the stage of Dissolution, or basically, we take that which we want to focus on in life and leave the rest. We take what works; let it go. And that is pretty much the foundation of forgiveness, no? It’s never about overlooking something that was done but seeing it a new way.

Whatever you are attempting to focus on in life, I am sure you are fighting your inner excuses (basically your ego and all its ways it can come up with you keep you the same, feeling the same, thinking the same, day after day after day…) as well as your outer excuses (whatever else we commit our time to).

Now the key here with our outer excuses is to review which ones are true priorities that expectedly call for your attention, time, and focus (family, friends, commitments, hobbies, etc.) and just more reflections of your ego such as the time we spend complaining, comparing, judging, whining, putting ourselves down, putting others down, etc.

We all have pain and we all have more say in how fast our wounds heal. Some of us just like to keep picking at it. And while old wounds cut deep, they are also some of the best way-showers life has to offer us. We just have to be willing to see. And in the end, the absolute best way to stay focused in my opinion is to simply remember why you looked in the first place. 😉

The Awesome Art of Open-Heart Observing

Image result for open heartAs it goes, the Universe is set up in such a way that when we need to keep our hearts open the most, it is during the most absolute difficult times to do so. Those times we may be struggling to find our self-worth or confidence because while we know how good appreciation and respect feel, we still rely on getting it from others to make us feel secure in ourselves.

Or it may be times we are triggered from an old wound and therefore have issues connecting with someone that reminds us of someone else who many have caused us pain in the past. Or perhaps they remind us of someone we’ve hurt and therefore we have in fact closed off our own heart to ourselves when it comes to forgiveness.

Whatever the case, we all know how shitty it feels to carry around those heavy emotions such as regret, guilt, anger, resentment, and feelings of lack, not being good enough and for some reason we have set ourselves to believe that while it’s justified to fly off the handle at someone else making us angry or causing us pain, we numb ourselves to the daily discord in our lives caused by our very own hand and how by allowing ourselves to reign over our own feelings, we are also allowing ourselves to be the observational gatekeepers of our own hearts.

In fact, while no one else can ever really make us actually feel anything, we humans have grown accustomed to being the mirrors we are as that is innately how we do relate to one another in our relationships and the world at large. However, beyond the works of Jung and our good old friend the Ego, we not only reflect back our unhealed wounds, our perceptions, our judgments, and our insecurities, but also on the positive front, the things we adore and admire in others.

A perfect example that often goes overlooked is when we envy another person. We often get caught up in the “negative” feelings of not being that person, or resenting them for having something or being a certain way we feel or believe we are not, but in truth of the highest order, it is not possible to even see something admirable in another, to even recognize it, unless it already exists within you! Read that again if you have to, but yes this is true!

You see, when we see another person acting a way that makes us feel jealous, it is simply triggering a part within ourselves that is itching to emerge! A dormant part of our being that would love to come out and play, if only we would give it the attention and time to grow that it deserves to come to the surface and flourish. Being jealous and resentful is simply the ego’s way of avoiding the work! It keeps us from changing and keeps us living small and in the same place in our lives where we are free to continue our same story; complaining about how much everyone else has and how much we lack. It gives us an outer focal point, rather than an insightful observation inward.

But if we just look again…if we just shift our perceptions and get out of our heads and back into our hearts, amazing things begin to happen, because when we look at the world and ourselves with an open heart we are seeing things now as they really are, not as we perceive them to be or wish them to be. And the more we do this consciously, the more we make the choice to stop letting our emotions and preconceived ideas rule us and keep our inner world illusions going, the more we tear down the holographic wall of our minds.

Observing the world, other people and ourselves (where we must first start this journey) with an open heart does not take away our power, but actually fills up our reserves and gives us a never-ending supply! Our heart produces the largest electrical field in the body and it’s because in our most minute levels of existence, in our most basic atomic form, we ARE energy and we are all constantly communicating with one another whether we are aware of it or not.

This is how we pick up on “vibes” or intuition and gut feelings. And when we learn to not ignore these feelings, our heart begins to naturally open as our trust in our very relationship with ourselves begins to build. This is how we develop a healthy self image and how we stop unconsciously reflecting the illusions we think we are to the world and begin consciously projecting the love we now know we are instead.

Persistent Resistance: Why the Things You Avoid Don’t Go Away

It’s all about the vibes, man…

We’ve all had that experience of coming up against something we don’t want to do or someone we don’t want to be around. And sometimes in the midst of it all, we begin to notice that the more we think about it or try to resist or push it away, the more it seems to be around and in our face. So…what’s up with that?

What is happening is actually physics at play. In other words, the energy moving around the situation or person and your beliefs and feelings around the entire thing is what will determine if it does in fact go away or continue to haunt you mercilessly. When we are in a place of wanting to avoid someone, for example, the energy that we are putting out is usually the fear of running into them, having to converse with them, explain something to them, etc. And it is because there is fear present, that you will continue to draw it towards you, rather than away from.

I recently wrote an article about fear and how to use it as a tool for success. It is cliché, yet so very true that the only way fears ever go away is by us facing them head-on. In this action, we are putting a new kind of energy into motion. Instead of the heavy, stifling vibe of acting from fear, when we come from a place of confidence, self-love, and trust, it’s a completely different vibe; one that empowers you to know you can count on yourself and that you control the nature of your reality, simply by shifting the energy around your beliefs.

Oh, that’s attractive…

Like magnets repel or attract depending on their polarity, we also are gifted with this ability if we know how to use it properly. When someone makes us uncomfortable, it is wise to not immediately follow and act upon the feeling, unless of course you feel threatened in any way. If it’s more of an overall annoyance for the person or they’ve done something you are not quite ready to forgive, etc. then the feelings of wanting to avoid the person should be first looked at and dug through, not immediately acted upon as that creates a container for fear-based, heavy draining energy. And in this type of energy, it’s quite hard for things to “escape” and settle on their own because it’s very binding and constricting. You may even physically feel like your body is incredibly tense and your mind uneasy when in this type of container.

Instead of creating a groundhog’s day of perpetual avoidance, try instead to look at the feelings instead of just feeling them. Let them speak to you as an equal, not like they are giving you orders to act upon. When we sit with our feelings, we create a neutral space for reflection and insight and often we begin to unravel clarity where there was confusion as our hearts begin to open.

We may begin to see the situation or person in a new light and finally be able to forgive them for past hurts. And if not, we may at least begin to forgive ourselves for carrying the pain for so long, and perhaps gift ourselves the freedom of surrendering the pain to the ethers and allowing it to become the lesson that lifts us, rather than the wound that keeps us down.

Your greatness is waiting to emerge…

Often times I find when something scares me, it’s actually a sign that is pulling me to become a better version of myself; to expand and grow so I can hold more abundance, love, and light in my life. And I find that when I resist these types of things, the Universe tends to bring me fewer opportunities. It’s as if I was saying, “I don’t believe in myself, so please allow me to keep living small where I feel safe.” And so the Universe responds as such, but only for so long. It will always continue to get you to your true center; to walk the path not created by fate, but the one you were destined to create for yourself.

When we are in a place of resistance that is fear-based, it will stick around because it’s merely asking to be looked at and explored. It will continue to weigh you down, make you feel uncomfortable, etc. until you do. If we continue to place blame on things outside of ourselves, then the Universe will continue to just give you things to complain about. But, what if we instead go inward and commit to being our own best friends? What if we all took the time to really get to know ourselves like we were meeting a new friend or lover, and give ourselves that same undivided attention?

This is moving towards your light…your authenticity and your Truth. In this energy, you will instead feel a pull, not a push and the more you surrender to it, the more you will open your heart to all of life’s experiences that come your way. If not because you’ve learned to trust the Universe responds to energy (not mere wishes), but because you’ve learned to trust yourself.

Have an amazing, irresistible weekend everyone! 🙂

Quantum Oneness: How Physics Proves You Are Simultaneously Everywhere

EverythingWe look around us using our physical sense of sight, and see objects that appear as solids. We can easily identify where one object ends and another begins. We can even say that when it comes to ourselves, our skin is where “we” end and “out there” begins. But this is completely untrue. And Quantum Physics proves it.

“Space is just a construct that gives the illusion that there are separate objects” – Dr. Quantum

What we perceive to be solid objects are in fact at an atomic level, not so solid at all. In fact, atoms are 99.999999999999% empty space! This can be a mind-numbing idea if one is to say, punch a brick wall or even simply go sit on a chair as we can feel the wall we punch and the chair we sit on. But the truth is, your fist never actually hits the wall and your bum never actually hits the chair. What you are feeling is merely pressure…forces interacting at an atomic level and your nerve endings are simply reacting. How so? Because everything that appears solid are again full of atoms. These atoms are surrounded by shells of electrons that cause them to push away from one another.

One could ask why the entire Universe doesn’t just blow up and away from itself then, right? That’s because most electron shells are not full and as atoms come in close contact with one another, electrons actually go back and forth between atoms, and quite quickly may I add, filling each atoms empty spaces (atoms are excellent sharers!).

So, what does this have to do with you? And how does this prove that you…are everywhere? Well, the activity of our little electron friends is what most of us know as “energy” and it comprises of what we, and everything else in the entire Universe, are made of at an atomic level. This constant exchange between those busy little electrons is within us all and can even be measured well outside the barrier of our skin. In fact, the human energy field expands out about 3-6 feet outside of the physical body!

And because this energy is free-flowing from atom to atom, this field allows us to “pick up on” other people’s energy; i.e. “feel out” a person. It even explains that sense in your gut when you first meet a person that either attracts or repels you to or away from them. It also sheds light on the term “personal space” as it can feel quite invasive when someone brings their energy into your own energy space without your permission. You literally feel them pushing their energy onto you. Or in other words, you feel the electrons in their energy field impressing on your own.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” – Nikola Tesla

Everything in the Universe is energy. That wall you punched and your now bruised fist…both are energy. But what is fascinating is they never even touched one another. The atoms in the wall were simply vibrating at a different speed/level than that of your fist, so when you directed your fist to the wall, they repelled and an electric, not material (as we are learning “matter” is illusory) reaction and repulsion occurred. The same occurs when you believe you are sitting on a chair. You are actually levitating on an atomic level! 🙂

So, we can now conclude from that fact that everything is energy (and since we are part of that everything) and energy is everywhere…that WE must also be everywhere and with that a part of ONE unified whole. Ponder that for a moment, and then think of how petty personal differences seem when you realize we are all the same on such a grander scale.

Science is now opening doors of consciousness it used to shun. And quantum physics is shining the light on the path to our future understanding of who we really are and just how connected we are to the vast expanse; furthermore…to the understanding that we ARE the vast expanse.

“If quantum mechanics hasn’t profoundly shocked you, you haven’t understood it yet. Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real.” – Niels Bohr

Integral Integrity: What It is and Why You Want to be Living It Fully

11 Benefits Fueled From A Lifestyle Of Integrity. – Reina BeatyWhile we typically relate integrity to morality, I want to speak about integrity along the lines of living your truth or walking the path you were meant to walk. You see, we all came here to sing our own songs so to speak, and if we’re not doing that, if we’re not actively pursuing our purpose and exploring our gifts, talents, abilities, etc. then this creative energy that we are stuffing and suppressing will begin to manifest as sickness and disease and just give us more distractions in our lives. When we are living “out of integrity”, this will show up in our lives as discord and disharmony. This is not punishment by any means, but rather an invitation to look at the areas in your life where you can show up MORE.

Many of us were conditioned with beliefs handed down from our parents (who had it handed down from theirs and so on…) that we must follow a set path in life. For the most recent generations, it’s been immediately figuring out what you want to do with the rest of your life, and it best not be based around what you enjoy, but rather what will bring home the largest paycheck. We must go right off to college, get married, have children, put away for retirement, work most of our lives for very little while making others very wealthy, only to have the very last few years of our lives to “enjoy as we wish”, when our health and minds are on their way out??? NO THANK YOU!

While I firmly believe you can live in integrity while having a 9-5 and live a full and happy life following the American Dream, what I’m getting at is if the beliefs that shaped your entire life are not originally your own, then you cannot truly say you are living YOUR truth. You must at some point in your life (and the Universe, God, Source whatever you prefer to call it has a funny way of getting us to look at things we must in order to expand and grow),  be willing to face your fears and sit down with your innermost shadows…those darkest corners of your mind and Soul. For it is here where your greatest light will emerge. Light is information, knowledge, wisdom, expansion, growth. You will know if you’ve done that by asking one simple question…”Am I happy NOW?”

While I do believe that we are initially born IN integrity, conditioning by society forms layers within our subconscious that help to develop our elusive, yet vital persona, the Ego. Last week I wrote entirely about our friend, the Ego, and how if used properly can be a vital tool to navigating your emotions and seeing where there is healing required in those deepest parts of you. While the Ego is our greatest mental trickster, once we learn its games, we can turn the tables and train it to work FOR us, rather than against us.

When we make commitments, whether they be to ourselves or to others, our Ego will often justify our excuses if when the time comes to honor the commitment, we “no longer feel like it”. When we break commitments, this energy takes us completely out of integrity because the resonance of our word (our essence, our energetic stamp) is diminished in value. If we make a habit of breaking commitments, we will eventually have energetically created a “Cry Wolf” scenario where people will just stop asking us to do anything at all. Meaning, if you continually talk about wanting to get out more, and get invites all the time that you commit to and break last minute; people WILL stop inviting you because they won’t take you seriously…about wanting to get out more because well, you make every excuse not to! 🙂

What I think can be even worse is breaking commitments to ourselves as this usually comes with a huge layer of guilt and a breach of our self-esteem. For those of you who are cereal self-sabotagers like I used to be, you know what I’m talking about! But when we learn to identify the Ego’s tricks, they are easier to not fall for. One key thing to pay attention to is this…whenever you are about to have a major breakthrough, your Ego will do whatever it can to distract you and prevent it from happening.

Think about that; are you acting out of character? Did well for a week and now you want to quit? That’s the ego telling you to give up (you’re not worth completing this goal!). It will fight to the death to avoid change, it is what it does and it does it masterfully!

So, just keep this in mind when you want to guilt-trip yourself after falling off your diet, etc. I’m not inviting you to be an enabler to yourself and not hold yourself accountable and responsible for your own actions, but to just be aware of your motivations and to be kind to yourself. You can correct course and come back to center without tearing yourself down and dragging yourself through the mud every single time, trust me. 😉

And as we develop good habits with the help of knowing how to work with our Egos, we begin to see how naturally we are living in integrity, because doing things that are good for ourselves and others feels amazing and are things in which we want to stay committed and follow through on. The rewards are so fulfilling that we are fueled in our hearts by the cycle of flow; give and receive…the balance necessary for living a life of integrity.

What is the Paradox of Personal Power?

The Paradox Of Technology And 5 Ways To Avoid It - The latest Voice of Customer and CX trends | Usabilla BlogAnyone who’s been doing it for a while knows that a key element in manifesting what you want is actually letting go of what you want.

Yep, you read that right. In order to have what you want, you just need to be willing to let it go. It’s a perfect paradox that life has set up and if we dig a little deeper this would be the step where after putting out your intentions, you then surrender any hold on how it needs to show up. Meaning, you can’t hold it in your mind in such a specific way that it closes you off from other opportunities the Universe is trying to bring it to you with. You miss what is often right in front of you because you are only expecting it to show you how you have it planned in your mind.

This is why you need to put it out there what you want, resonate with it…feel as it is yours, as it’s here with you, but don’t even consider a thought about how it got here. That is the Universe’s job and it is damn well good at it.

Now, a key of personal power is not often needed unless control over something else is intended. While the goal for the Spiritual Alchemist is to quiet (and learn from) the Ego Mind, expand from our traumas and trials, and be open to more abundance and joy in our lives. Everything in nature is cyclical, and our very own existence in nature is no different. Our own individual evolution through time and space is just as expansive as the tree rings of a great redwood. And this process of growth doesn’t need to be controlled but rather will flourish if left to its devices.

So, we might be mindful to look at it as we’re not necessarily shooting for fighting against darkness or fighting for light. That is key to remember; it’s about balancing both elements because both are equal in value and service to your soul’s growth in the lessons they offer. It is what you do with your experiences and lessons that determine your character and vibration and ultimately how large your energetic space in the world expands.

What is great about this is we have free will. It is always a choice. We can remain resentful of those that betrayed us before we had the conscious awareness to care for ourselves, whether that be our parents, teachers, even ourselves…, but if we can keep the focus on reclaiming that power back that was taken during that time, we allow ourselves the ability to continue our UP-ward spiral of expansion and we continue to flow with nature. We literally can FEEL when we are in this flow, and we can all admit that it feels pretty fucking amazing.

When we are connected to our soul purpose, our clear inner voice that is always trying to be heard under the clutter of other people’s beliefs, opinions, etc, that are stacked high in our subconscious minds, we have literally embodied “peace”. People who are happy all the time are faking it, I’m sorry. And people who are pissed off all the time are faking it too. Anytime you have to put conscious EFFORT into BEING a certain way, you are NOT being yourself, and this is why it doesn’t feel right deep down in your soul.

This is also why deep down we give ourselves so much shit for it and sometimes lash out at others when we’re really just so ticked of at ourselves that we haven’t yet figured out that we’re not supposed to drown in the bad times or lose ourselves in the good times. Paradox Dictionary Definition" Art Board Print by Primly | Redbubble

We are meant to flow through them all, arms out, ready to grab life by the balls. Ready to experience all it has to offer in those experiences (yes good or bad), and when you can be conscious of that outside of the emotions that come with these experiences, you have discovered who YOU are in there. And the more you stay aware of this truth, the easier it becomes to not attach to emotions and moments and not be so reactive. It becomes more natural to, well…be natural. To be neutral; to be at peace.

And when you finally learn to find your inner peace, you become the most powerful being on this plane of existence, yet may find no desire to use said power in any said direction. Because there’s no more looking. No more need to look. Just acceptance of what IS. Pure “Is-ness”, if you will. And it is only as much as “it is” in how it supersedes its need to be.

I hope I didn’t lose you there, but again you have to be willing to lose it all to have it all. And I hope you all have the most peaceful (yet maybe a little paradoxical) weekend! 🙂

Invisible Insight: How to Cross an Emotional Bridge You Cannot See

If anyone knows procrastination, self-sabotage, and making internal excuses it would be me. But what reflecting on each of these things on an intended regular basis has taught me, is the insight into exactly why I delay things, why I put myself down, and why I distract myself from focusing on what I need to in order to make my dreams a reality.

And I wanted to write about these things this week because it seems like we all tend to think about this stuff and do a bit of self-reflecting here and there, but then when we’re no longer feeling the jazz of the moment anymore, it’s almost as if the insight fizzles and we find ourselves right back in the same unmotivated, un-moving, space of confusion as to why nothing is different, nothing is better and although we see the days on the calendar go by, nothing has changed. Well, at least it feels that way sometimes, doesn’t it? So, what gives?

Well for one, it’s because we are living life from a perspective of “being pulled” towards something rather than us being the ones who are pushing outwards on life itself! In order to keep things IN-motion, WE have to BE the power source that is moving things in our lives forward! Instead, we tend to have a “sit back and wait for it” mentality.

But we are not necessarily taught this fact. At least not in the most emotionally empowering way. Sure we are taught, usually quite vaguely or based on the status quo, that we have to earn a living and that nothing comes for free; money doesn’t grow on trees (actually it does, it’s PAPER!), but you get my point. We are not taught that in order to get what we want in life AND feel good about ourselves and have healthy relationships with others is to realize that the hard work lies WITHIN first and foremost. If you skip that, then you seriously should prepare for everything else to be a huge pain in the ass LOL. Welcome to Earth! 😉

All kidding aside, what I really mean here is this…Everything we tend to learn in this world is ASS BACKWARDS!

For example…

To have a healthy level of self-esteem, we gotta love ourselves first and foremost and know that the opinions of others do not define who we are, but rather actually give us more clues into who they are. And regardless of whether we have figured that out or not yet, the fact remains that no matter HOW we feel about ourselves at any given moment, we always deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

Why are we so often taught to feel like the opinions of others are the most important? And if you stop and notice, when they are unfavorable opinions, it can be quite damaging to our hearts and feelings, because we have developed expectations of the outside world to determine our emotional state for the most part. Instead of being taught the reality that our emotional state determines that which we experience in the outside world!

This all comes back to magnetism and energy and the recognition that our emotions are a system of energy that is constantly in motion. E-motion…Energy-in-motion. I will never forget the first time I heard someone explain emotions in that way. They know nothing else but to MOVE as this is their essence, what they do, what they are meant to do, and their method of Operandi. If emotions are stuck, they become stagnant energy blocks and will literally manifest as sickness and or issues in your life to get your attention in a more significant way than the emotion itself didn’t grab the first time.

Emotions are awesome and none is better or worse than the other. Every emotion has its job to do and has a certain aspect of healing that it points out for you. We are NOT our emotions and they are also not meant to be taken on as who we are because they are not. They are FEELINGS, and they are FLEETING. They are meant to flow in and out of our existence like rain…but if we grab and hold them, they will fester under our ego’s attempt to control them.

And the ego’s best trick? Convincing you that those feelings you have the most often, or that mood you usually carry around is actually YOU. As if you, I’m talking about Self with a capital S, could ever be contained within one emotion. You are multi-faceted. And the fact you can feel ALL emotions should tell you that you are NOT just one in particular. If you are convinced you are a single emotion, then you have at least identified where to start your journey of healing…

And here is where crossing that good ‘ol invisible bridge comes into play. We get so used to our emotions telling us how to feel, that when we are made aware of the fact they are not us, are not in control of us or our mood and that they are just indicators to our environment, that we almost don’t want to reclaim our power. Why? Because it places an enormous amount of responsibility back into your consciousness. Now that you know, you cannot un-know and you know it! LOL.

We always have a choice as to how to react to our emotions; no matter how strong or intimidating and in your face, the emotion might be. And I realize that for many, this article might trigger a reaction to actually do the complete opposite of what I’m suggesting right now and let this truth piss you off. But that’s okay because the things that piss us off are usually the same things that set us free…

How to Witness More Magic in Your Life!

I was fortunate enough to meet the lovely author, Pam Grout at a workshop she was hosting in Phoenix. If you don’t know who Pam is, she is the author of E Squared and E Cubed. In E Squared, Pam asks you to perform 9 experiments to prove to yourself the existence of what she calls “The Field of Potential” or simply, the FP. It’s a big ‘ol invitation to play with the Universe and the forces within it and boy was it fun!

One of my experiments was to not only get Pam to sign my copy of her book, but to get to meet her in a more personal way at this workshop. Well, upon doing one of the exercises where we were put into groups, ours happened to be a tad small so Pam joined us and sat down right next to me. 🙂

During our pow-wow we got to share ideas, projects we’re all working on, a little about who we are and what excites us and it was just so amazing to get to share in this way with her and all of the wonderful ladies in my group. And it definitely proved that the FP, the magic of the Universe, is right there at your fingertips at all times! And what I learned was a key lesson for me; one so simple, but one I had also forgotten.

I learned that the first and most important step to getting help/assistance in manifesting what you want is you have to ASK for it! I tend to be the type of person to always need to do things on my own, rarely stopping to ask for help. I send many thanks daily to the Universe for all it’s blessings, however I had forgotten how great the Universe is at giving signs not just for the big things, but for the small, day-to-day things as well. Things like finding stuff I had lost or just asking the Universe a question that I had been pondering in my own head for weeks, and getting a sign within minutes to what way I should go with this particular issue.

I also believe the first step to witnessing magic in our lives (such as my getting to meet Pam up close and personal), on a more consistent basis is to not wait for things to happen in our lives, but instead to go out and happen to things! What I mean is make things happen and live from a sense of empowered peace and creative consciousness rather than the auto-pilot mode we so often find ourselves in. We are all walking paths in this life, but instead of looking for who we are in everything that we’re not, how about we look within and simply observe all that we are? It sounds so obvious, yet we are all taught to look outside of ourselves for answers, when we have ALL of them already within us!

Owning your mind, body, soul and spirit in this way would be equivalent to the “taking of the reins” of your own life. And while it comes with a shitload of responsibility, it will also set you free! This and the rest of the E Squared experiments really reconnected me with a part of myself I hadn’t been in touch with for a long time. That part that has full and complete trust in the Universe and is working with its forces, rather than just sitting back and playing the role of being a victim to them. The dance of the ego and Spirit is a long and beautiful one, but also has very dramatic and mournful sections that can often tear at your heart strings. But once we remember that the world of ego is all illusory, we remember our true power and can fully recenter; shift back into the frequency of magic!

The ego’s job is to keep you exactly as you are, playing small in life, while otherwise convincing you that you’re changing or making progress. It is a master manipulator and will do whatever it can to distract you from positive change. This, however, is not a reason to hate or want to kill the ego, because it is still very valuable to our learning and growth in life. Instead I recommend self-study; observe yourself and how you are acting and RE-acting in various situations. Are you creating your life or are you simply just always reacting to things that “happen to you”?

When we learn how to evolve into and hold this kind of relationship with the ego, from a strict sense of non-judgmental observance, we are then and only then allowed seeing beyond the veil of the illusion the ego projects. We can then use the ego for the tool that it is and let it show those things very deep within our Soul that still need to be looked at, healed and integrated; things we were previously unable to see. This in itself can be a “magical” process as you see with new eyes; eyes that can look deeper, see more clearly, and cast loving warmth over anything they happen to gaze upon…

Then you may witness magic everywhere in life, because you are no longer waiting to simply bear witness to it, you are out there…creating your own. <3

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”  -Roald Dahl

Have a magical weekend, everyone! 🙂

Break the Chains: How to No Longer Be a Prisoner of Your Past

I wanted to write this week about dreams and aspirations. Each of them gives you hope, something to look forward to and to plan. Dreams can help you align your gifts and talents with those things you absolutely love to do the most so that you can bring to fruition a living that you never have to consider to be “a job”. To me THAT is the definition of success.

With the realization of how vital they are to actually achieve goals, I also took in the understanding that you can’t always keep your dreams “out there” in front of you. You must bring them in close, into your heart, into your reality and beliefs, and most importantly you must welcome them into your NOW.

When we keep dreams as a proverbial carrot dangling in front of us, sure they may keep us moving, or they may just keep us daydreaming and growing ever resentful of those around us that took steps we haven’t yet. There’s a certain safety in always having our dreams out in the distance. It’s comforting to know we always have that goal to strive for and deep down it might terrify people to actually reach the horizon and achieve that goal, because then what do we do? Actually, enjoy our lives? 🙂

This is where the anxiety of the process stems from…straying from the present moment into a future of uncertainty or one that you have convinced yourself is full of impending doom or failure. Sadly, it is a self-fulfilling prophecy if we do not become aware of it.

Just as our perceptions of what the future holds are subconsciously tied to the faith we have in ourselves to make the choices needed to get us there, we need to consider how our perceptions of our past can act to limit or alter just how many steps we take or even attempt to take towards ever creating that future we dream of.

I often say that the stories we tell ourselves cause us the most suffering. It is not usually situations that are necessarily good or bad per se, but the stories we tell ourselves about them and the judgment we create in our minds. When we convince ourselves those things just ARE this way or that, not only are we limiting ourselves to having to now navigate within the constraints of a small box, but we are also putting ourselves in the equivalent position of getting into a car with no steering wheel.

We may not stop to consider how damaging or hindering our own thoughts about things, people, and events from our past can affect not only our present lives but our future as well. If we hold onto guilt, regret, anger, or shame for things we did or didn’t do; things others said or didn’t say, it is we who keep ourselves locked in a prison in our own minds. And oftentimes, if we just simply revisit these events we have tortured ourselves with for so long, we may see them in a completely different light.

Can we KNOW for sure that the way we perceived the events actually did happen the way we keep replaying them in our heads after all these years? Did the person really mean it the way we took it? Hanging onto these perceptions and stories; this is where depression can come from that feeds our insecurities and fill our minds with the “what-if’s” and “I should have done this or said that”. Our past is meant to be our teacher and while the lessons are often painful they are what add to your integrity and strength.

There are so many factors that allow us to justify our hanging onto things from our past like we are doing something to get back at the other person. Or that it’s benefiting us in some way not to let it go and move on. But what we don’t often realize is that forgiveness is never about the other person. Forgiveness is so YOU can have peace; it has nothing to do with them. And letting go and moving on doesn’t mean you are a sucker or had one done over on you. It means you simply respect and love yourself enough to cherish your own peace of mind. You are confident that you deserve to be happy and that nothing anyone has ever done or said to you is ever worth losing your smile.

This is not to suggest we all become unemotional robots; not in the least. To experience the full spectrum of emotion is human and is, in my opinion, a beautiful thing (yes even the sad or “negative” emotions). What I am saying is that all emotions serve their purpose and that is ALL they are there to do. To serve their purpose and be let go of. If we sit with emotions too long, they begin to consume us.

Happiness is NOT an emotion; it is a state of BEING. It cannot exist anywhere but inside you and cannot be found in another person or in a future time, yet that is where most of us are conditioned to look for it. Joy IS an emotion and like all others is fleeting and temporary and the trick is to learn to ride the wave of emotion that comes with life. Happiness isn’t some destination in the future that we need to strive to get to. It is a state of being that we either choose for ourselves or we don’t and regardless of what is ever going on, we always have that choice – no one can take that away from us.

If we are always thinking that happiness comes from or is taken away by others, guess where it will always be? Just out of reach. No wonder so many of us are so guarded, untrusting, or on edge! Yet, once we realize that happiness is there within us at all times, smoldering like embers in those unique gifts we haven’t yet gotten the courage to share with the world, we no longer see the world as a place we need to compare, compete or conquer.

I say the key to unlocking our self-inflicted prison is merely self-love. Once you learn to love yourself, the door appears. Once you get the courage to approach the door with the intention to explore what lies on the other side, you will then be anointed with the key. The funny thing is, the key was within your own heart the whole time.

We ARE our greatest dream. And the greatest day of your life will be the day you find out.
