The Triple Flame App
The “Triple Flame” app (available for free on both iOS and Android platforms) is a contemplative tool designed to help users integrate regular moments of mindfulness into their daily routines. Developed by Gene Keys, the app encourages users to pause for three or five minutes every three hours, aligning with a global community of individuals practicing the same technique. This method aims to infuse daily life with a contemplative state, promoting a sense of calm and self-awareness. The Triple Flame App is designed to complement the “Art of Contemplation” book and mini-course by Richard Rudd, offering a practical approach to integrating contemplation into everyday life.

Blu Interviews Richard Rudd & Robert Edward Grant
In the video (starting at 53:38) plus transcript below Richard Rudd responds to Blu's brilliant question by talking about the transformative power of taking short pauses throughout the day. By creating contemplative spaces, individuals can bring mindfulness and awareness to their lives, allowing them to observe and address their shadow patterns. These pauses, although seemingly reducing time, actually expand it, facilitating a deeper understanding and transformation of internal struggles. This practice of pausing enables compassion, gentleness, and the eventual blossoming of hidden gifts within these challenges, leading to personal growth and enlightenment.
NOTE: I also recommend that you watch Rudd's “Art of Contemplation” playlist on his Gene Keys YouTube channel.
TRANSCRIPT
The following is a transcript of part of the brilliant interview that Blu did with Richard Rudd and Robert Edward Grant. It begins at 53:38.
Blu:
I would love to gift the listeners something tangible that they can bring forward into their world. What do you believe is necessary with the direction of the shift that is happening in consciousness right now on our planet? We see it left, right, and center so that we can sit after this podcast and go, “Okay, we live in a really profoundly, wildly complex yet simple reality and universe. Now, what can I do to shift my internal experience to then be able to serve the direction that we're moving into that is founded from a place of oneness?” Richard?
Richard Rudd:
Yeah, thank you. Well, you know, um, Hermes, again, going back to Hermes, was also the god of alchemy. And what Robert's talking about is alchemy through numbers, right? The turning of base metal into gold. That's what we're talking about, right? We're talking in many dimensions at many levels symbolically and numerologically.
And through the Gene Keys, what I've done with my poetic science, I've looked at DNA through a poet's eyes because I am essentially a poet. That's what I always wanted to be. It doesn't mean I write only poetry. It means I attempt to live a poetic life, and I see things poetically. To see things poetically is to see beauty, basically, in as many places as you can, especially in ugly places.
And so, we have to start by looking inside the ugly places inside us, which in Gene Keys we call the shadows, the shadow state. Everyone kind of knows the places. Right now, listening to this, if you just close your eyes for a moment and think, “Where is the ugliest place inside me right now?” You might not call it ugly, but it's like, “Where's the big challenge? What is it?” “Oh, I know what it is instantly.” You know what it is. You know where it is. There's somewhere, there's something you're grappling with that is a grain in the oyster.
That shadow pattern which you are attempting to resolve, or you might not be attempting, you might be trying to distract yourself from it. If you give it space inside your being, if you give it time, if you allow it some compassion, if you treat yourself gently, if you watch it, if you bring mindfulness and awareness to it, you will see it begin to transform.
And so, that's the case with any shadow pattern, any victim pattern that we are playing out. Like you said, going around in circles in the samsara loop.
This is the point of meditation, it's the point of contemplation. Contemplation is the technique I use because it doesn't involve necessarily closing your eyes. You can create the contemplative state doing absolutely anything in your daily life. Through the art of contemplation, I teach how to bring that state, that interior awareness, into everything in your life, beginning by taking little pauses throughout your day so that you can begin to create that space.
Lots of little pauses interconnected start to create quite a lot of space and it creates more time also in your day, which is an irony really because you're pausing so you might think that you're losing time, but actually you're pumping more time into your day. It's a strange paradox because you're stopping, you're pausing. And when I say pause, you can pause and still be in motion. You're pausing in your mind loops, in your struggles, in your old patterns, so that you can see them clearly.
You're creating space around them, and compassion, and gentleness. That's what begins to create this new number, this flower beginning to open out of the shadow, out of the very thing that you've been avoiding. It ends up being this great gift.
So, in Gene Keys, it's all three levels: the shadow, the gift, and then the highest level. You have the seed as the shadow, the flower is the gift that's hidden in the seed, in the shadow. Every shadow, every difficulty in our life is really asking us to do some alchemy. There's something powerful in that. The most difficult thing in your life has the most potential if you have the courage to give it some space and really look at it. That means you have to be authentic and so honest with yourself. That's a process. You might need support as well.
The final aspect is this, what I call the “siti,” which is a Sanskrit word because there wasn't a word in English that I could find. You could say essence, divine essence. Siti means like divine treasure. It's the genetic enlightened expression of a specific part of your nature. Everyone, when they become fully awake, has a completely different expression.
When you look at the Gene Keys, there's 64 of them. You look down the line of the language for the sitis, you'll see all these words: compassion, rapture, ecstasy, perfection, beauty, humility. You'll see they're all describing the same state but through a slightly different lens. Understanding that every shadow contains one of those sitis inside, it's hidden in there. It's the fruit in the seed. You might think that's a long way away. The seed is tiny, it's going to grow into a tree, and then it's going to go through all this and fruit, and then you get this beautiful fruit. The fruit, of course, contains another seed, which is a beautiful metaphor in itself. In that metaphor is life.
By creating that contemplative space inside you, those pauses, you can begin to look at these difficult patterns. That's all you have to do. That's all the ancients have ever taught. We can go off into quantum realities and describe it all, but actually, it comes down to just that: mindfulness, spaciousness. The pattern has space to transform and it can transform really quickly as well. You can go from a seed to a tree really fast because awareness is the water and the nutrition and the nourishment that allows that whole process to happen. Then you're left with this fruit, this juicy ecstasy of biting into this mango or whatever your favorite fruit is.
It was all along there, that golden thread, that golden awareness, that awakening. It was there all along, as you said. It was in the numbers. It was just hidden in the thread, in the stream, and we just had to unlock it. That's what the keys are, that's what the keys of Enoch were, and that's what all these ancient teachings are about: I Ching and chakras, the Vedic systems, the Kabbalist systems. We've probably explored most of them together between us, but you get to see the same golden thread in every single one, just taught in a different way.
Think of the Sufis. The Sufis in the Middle Eastern deserts had more words for love than any other tradition. They came up with layers and layers of words in their language to describe different aspects of love because that's all they wanted to see was love. Yeah, there's a kind of love that's full of angst and desire and misery, but it's still love. Then there's love that's at the highest level of divine annihilation and oneness with the cosmos. That's also love.
So it's all about love. Ultimately, self-love begins with creating space in your life through a contemplative practice. I would say, ultimately, learning to be gentle with yourself is the greatest secret I've ever learned. One day, a passing avatar came by and just whispered in my ear, “You want to know what awakening is? It's a series of softenings.” That went into me so deep. I was like, wow. You just have to go on softening your heart, and then the mind opens, and everything begins to transform. Then those higher states are just there. They're revealed. They're underneath. So, I guess that's my answer.
