Oracle. Seer. Soothsayer. Medium. All synonyms for those that have been turned to for psychic readings since, well, pretty much forever. Kings, royals, and other leaders attempted to leverage the use of psychic readings to their advantage in ancient times, and today you’ll find psychic readings advertised on television commercials, magazines, the Internet, and of course in small shops in towns and cities all over the world.
That means that when you’re in need of the insight that a psychic can provide, it can be a little difficult to find the best one. You could spend days upon days weeding through the available options, so today we wanted to share some tips to help you find the best psychic reader.
What Are You Looking For?
Of course not all psychics are the same, each have their own strengths and weaknesses and before you can decide which one is best for you, you need to know exactly what you want from the experience. Are you wanting a psychic that is clairvoyant? One that can perform an aura reading? Someone to channel the spirit of a loved one? Decide what you want from the psychic reading first and foremost and then move forward with making an informed decision.

Just because they have a television commercial doesn’t mean that you’re going to get a quality psychic reading from them. While not so long ago it was considered weird or taboo to seek the advice of a psychic, today those negative connotations are few and far between and that means that many of their clients are happy to talk about their experiences.
Look for online reviews via Yelp or their website. A quick web search can reveal a lot about how their clients really feel. However, just be tentatively skeptical about reviews on some of those sites and keep in mind that just because they may have one or two bad ones doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not any good. If there are a lot of negative reviews, then yes, it’s probably a good idea to avoid getting a psychic reading from them, but usually a psychic with just a couple of bad reviews just gave someone some news they didn’t like all too much.
A lot of psychics advertise on social media sites, which means they’re a GREAT place to peruse as well. Check their posts and comments, reach out to posters claiming to be clients and see what they have to say.
Another great way to get references is to ask family, friends, and even co-workers. You may be quite surprised by how many of the people closest to you regularly get a psychic reading or at least know someone that does.
If It Sounds Too Good To Be True…
When you do speak with your prospects, if they seem to be over-boastful about their abilities, want to charge you an exorbitant amount of cash for your psychic reading, or you feel sort of “bullied” into having a session with them, it’s time to keep looking.
It’s not all about money for a true psychic as they have a real belief in their abilities and don’t feel that they have to overpromise, overprice, or oversell themselves. Look for one that will guide you through a reading with kindness and understanding, never delving into areas in which you may feel uncomfortable or frightened, and will always allow you to remain in control of the reading.
