You're in this dark, spooky attic – a place you've never set foot in before. You feel okay, but something doesn’t add up. As you grab the door handle, it’s like your hand goes through.
What the…
Before you can even say a word, you see a woman draped in shadows press play.
Sit tight; your entire life is about to flash before your eyes. Yeah…you're dead!
The screen flickers, and the details astonish you. Well, not every detail, but you see everything – what you did and didn’t do. The people you hurt and those who hurt you. The times you really lived and the mountains you gave up climbing.
Everything!
Near the end, you spot your name in bold letters – scriptwriter, producer, director, even cleaning crew.
Before you can put two and two together, She disappears into the night. What happened?!

After We Die
Word on the cosmic street is that we travel through different planes of consciousness before coming here. It’s like making a bunch of stops before our big entrance on Earth.
We keep on descending from higher to lower planes of consciousness until we sink into the realm of matter.
But what happens after we die?
The Bulgarian philosopher and leading esotericist, Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov, explores this in his books The Life Beyond and The Fruits of the Tree of Life – The Cabbalistic Tradition.
He and other mystics believe that after we die, we stroll back up the same steps, but in reverse. Here’s how it goes.
At one of the lower planes of consciousness, we rendezvous with karma. And let’s be clear – karma is not punishment.
This is where we become conscious of all the things we said or didn’t say, did or didn’t do that missed the mark on love.
For instance, if you cheated your way to success, thinking it’s a dog-eat-dog world, well, that’s fear talking, not love. So, next time, karma will nudge you toward a more loving path to success, reminding you that the universe is abundant, and there’s plenty for everyone.
Next up on our cosmic journey is where we let the good times roll – hitting replay on all the good we’ve done. Here, we soak up every moment of love and joy we experienced during our stay on earth.
This leg of the journey, in the words of Kool and the Gang, is “celebrate good times” all around – a playback of all our wins.
Things get interesting after this.
We reach the Land of No Mystery, the plane that has all the answers – answers to anything we’ve been left clueless about.
Imagine “unwrapping” all the mysteries of the universe, one by one, marveling at every delicious secret. It’s like Genie’s lamp, but with unlimited access.
Going up yet another level, we hit Nirvana.
If this were a Lion King movie, it would be Rafiki’s Upendi – the paradise of absolute love. There is no ‘you’ or ‘me’ anymore, no separation. Everything is connected, and all is one.
Chances are, you might not want to leave here. But the final stop is worth everything.
It’s our Homecoming with a capital H, where we melt into the One Mind…the One Creator… the One Eternal Consciousness.
And with that, my friends, we conclude our celestial after-death tour.
So, what do you think death is?
She’s Not What You Think
It's no secret that we fear what we don’t understand. Our minds are designed to keep us safe, and safe means sticking to the familiar – the known.
What if we understood death a little better?
In the Sandman comics, Neil Gaiman paints death in an original light. She is a gentle, upbeat, free spirit who finds life particularly interesting.
Her official job title is psychopomp, which means escort of souls to other realms.
She is literally a god of transition. And the fact that she’s warm is very relevant because she’s not an ominous figure that comes for you in the night. She’s a friend.
Maybe that’s why we refer to death as a sweet release.
She invites us to let go of our person suits and see all that we need to see – the good, the bad, and the ugly of our life – so we can have a better run next time around.
In that sense, death is not the end of life but its extension.
What Will It Be?
Will this perspective on death help you realize that you’re the only one calling the shots? That you are and always will be the god of your reality?
Will it inspire you to live the life you’re meant for? Or, waste it away until She calls for you?
