June 2021 Energy Forecast – Including Solar Eclipse and Mercury Retrograde

Video Source: chakraboosters

Hello Beautiful Soul and welcome to Your Energy Forecast for June 2021. We’ve got a solar eclipse, Uranus squares Saturn and Mercury is retrograde (in Gemini!) most of the month.

June can be a powerful throat chakra healing month if you take advantage of the solar eclipse and all the Gemini energy.

There’s also quite a bit of sacral healing energy and throat+sacral are a powerful, creative combination! This month is an 11 Universal month (6+2+0+2+1) in a 5 year (2+0+2+1), so even the numbers are telling us it’s sacral (11) and throat chakra (5) energy.

With the “ring of fire” solar eclipse, we’ve also got some solar plexus energy pouring in.

And finally, the crown chakra is quite present too with Jupiter still rockin’ out in Pisces.

Watch the forecast (above) to discover the three thematic suggestions (dos and don’t) for June and the key dates to note (including my favorite “sweet” day and the one I think is most challenging).

Be sure to stick around till the end to see what the Goddess cards say. I pulled one for the first half of the month and one for the second half. Both surprised me and the first one actually gave me a big “aha” around Mercury Retrograde and how far back we can look when we’re going over our past patterns.

If you enjoy this energy forecast, please help me get it out in the world by sharing it.

Have a healing June!

Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio and Libra: Aligning Shared Values

By Carmen Di Luccio | Nexus Newsfeed.com

Mercury begins another retrograde process on October 13th/14th  which will last until Nov 3rd/4th. This is when it appears to be moving backwards from our earth based vantage point due to the positioning of the Earth and Mercury in each of their orbits around the Sun. This one is occurring primarily in Scorpio and partially in Libra.

In the weeks (and especially days) leading up to it, it can already start to feel like a retrograde and some of its themes can get seeded. This happens because Mercury slows down (again from our vantage point) and travels in the part of sky it will be returning to after the retrograde begins. This is known as the ‘pre-shadow’ period which began on September 23rd/24th.

This retrograde is happening while Mars is also retrograde which began on September 9th/10th and will last until November 13th/14th. The retrogrades of these planets along with Venus are much more significant and noticeable then those of all the other planets which have further orbits. This is because they are less frequent and are classified as ‘personal’ or ‘inner’ planets. When retrograde they are in a sign (or two signs) for a significantly extended amount of time in comparison to the signs before or after.

Both of these retrogrades reflect a period of adjustments pertaining to their own energies and those of the signs they are in. However, they are both connected as they are happening simultaneously and Mercury is in Scorpio which is a sign that is traditionally ruled by Mars. Another interesting thing is that Mercury begins this retrograde during the peak, or halfway point, of Mars Retrograde when it opposes the Sun. To learn more about this Mars retrograde, I recommend reading my article about it here.

If you have read my previous Mercury Retrograde articles, the remainder of this section and the following one are nearly the same and you can skip to the third section if you don’t want to re-read all the general themes associated with these periods. The other parts are more specific to this edition of it.

Mercury retrograde is known for the problematic effects it often has on communication technology, transactions, motor vehicles, anything with moving parts, and commuting in general. Some people even get headaches near the beginning of it. We could experience some challenges, misunderstandings, and errors around our communications, numbers/details, and commerce, as well as changes, cancellations, or delays in our schedules.

Sometimes these issues could occur when we are excessively analytical without tuning into our internal guidance. Depending on how we flow with it and other variables, we may not always experience these surface level inconveniences, or they could just be minor irritants.

Mercury Retrograde can also be a good time to revisit or redo tasks, projects, ideas, or anything else that was initiated in the past. It can give us a different perspective or shift in thinking that can help us to approach these things in ways we wouldn’t have done before. This may also be a period of reconnecting with old friends, family, lovers, or others we haven’t seen in a while. When we reconnect with people during a retrograde, it can help to facilitate a shift in the relationship. In some cases, issues from the past can come up which may need to be hashed out.

The Deeper Purpose of Mercury Retrograde

Ultimately, Mercury Retrograde is a time for us to recalibrate and adjust specific areas of our lives as well as how we apply our minds towards these issues. It is a period in which we may receive important insights and see things in a new light. In most cases, it can be mildly transformational, but in some cases it can facilitate more major transformations depending on how it corresponds to your personal astrological chart.

During and following the retrograde, certain areas of our lives can go through changes or shifts, or we can experience a re-orientation of some sort which influences how we proceed over the coming months or in some cases, it can have a more long-term significance. In the three weeks afterwards, known as the ‘post-shadow’ period, we move forward with some sort of new awareness, adjustment, as well as new ideas and thoughts that have been seeded which will develop and become more defined as time progresses.

Certain things that have come up specifically in the two weeks leading up to the start of the retrograde could determine where this energy could play out. It is also possible that there could have been changes or developments at that time which may go through a sorting-out process or shift in dynamics during the actual retrograde and in the two weeks following. There could be unknown variables, either positive or negative, that were either unseen or hadn’t been conceived yet, which may become apparent over the coming month.

The sign(s) and element(s) in which Mercury retrograde travels in shows the energy we are re-orienting ourselves with. More importantly, if you are familiar with your natal astrology chart, then your house(s) or any planetary placements being affected will show more specifically which areas of life you will be experiencing its energy in. For the astrologically literate, it begins at 11’40 degrees of Scorpio and will retrograde back to 25’54 degrees of Libra before turning forward again.

Occurring Mostly In Scorpio & Partially In Libra,  The Final of a Series In Water Signs

Mercury Retrograde always happens in primarily one element for 1-2 years. This is the sixth and final one of a series occurring in water signs which began in early 2019. The water element is about emotion, feelings, sensitivity, compassion, intuition, and fluidity. This period is about re-aligning ourselves with these qualities and expressing them in new or revamped ways.

With this retrograde primarily in Scorpio, we may experience or process re-orientations, adjustments, developments, circumstances, or reflect on themes connected to shadows, fears, sexuality, mysteries,  obsessions, esoteric practices, use of power, alchemy, conspiracies, taboo subjects, death, suspicions, secrets, investigating, research, depth, regeneration, or the pursuit of mastery. Psychotherapy, psychology, astrology, tarot, and wicca, are examples of practices that may come up at this time.

This can be a great period to do any sort of ‘shadow work’ to help us on our path to achieving wholeness and greater self-awareness. Scorpio is about going deep which can be a key to facilitate emotional healing at this time. Sometimes we encounter crisis to help to push us towards some sort of transformation and this can be one of the ways this retrograde may be experienced.

Scorpio is also associated with debt, taxes, investments, credit, inheritance, loans, mortgages, and anything to do with shared or other people’s resources. In our relationships or other types of partnerships, themes around shared values or shared worth may also come up.

Scorpio can also be about purging and releasing. This can play out when it comes to our physical belongings or obligations. Emotionally or psychologically, it could have to do with overcoming negative patterns or attachments through deep understanding or discovering and healing the root cause. When it comes to our physical body, it could be about cleansing through dietary changes or modalities such as colon hydrotherapy, which can help with emotional healing as well.

Libra themes will also play a part in this retrograde, yet not as prominent as Scorpio. We can experience re-orientations around relationships, relating, diplomacy, and finding common ground. Libra is associated with balance, fairness, equality, peace, harmony, compromising, looking at different sides, and consideration of others. Themes connected to aesthetics, design, art, and creativity may also play out.

Mercury Retrograde Significant Dates

Below are some of the dates and information for some of the major astrological configurations during this retrograde.

*The dates below are based on the Americas. The further East you are located, you may need to consider it as the next day.

Oct 13th/14th Mercury Retrograde Begins at 1:05am Universal Time During Peak of Mars Retrograde. Jupiter is also sextile Neptune

The common Mercury retrograde themes and complications may come up strongly at this time and in recent days leading up to this. You may get some sort of indication of how it may be playing out for you over the next month based on how you feel or what transpires. It’s possible that certain things that happen at this time, which may seem insignificant, can somehow be connected to how this retrograde process will affect you.

This is the peak of Mars retrograde as it opposes the Sun. The potentials of frustrations, conflicts, and fights will be higher however we may also feel this within ourselves. Generally speaking, the Mars retrograde period is a time to help facilitate a shift in how we apply ourselves as well as how we express assertion, action, anger, aggression, or sexuality. These themes can come up more strongly during this period.

Jupiter is in a sextile with Neptune for much of October, but peaks in the days surrounding Mercury beginning its retrograde. This can help to soften the potential of intensity and conflicts that can happen at this time. It can be expansive, explorative, educational, philosophical, and ambitious in a creative, artistic, spiritual, mystical, idealistic, or compassionate way. With Jupiter being in the Earth sign of Capricorn, many people can experience this around ambitions, career, business, or practical matters. This energy can also be good for visual media efforts. Capricorn can help bring groundedness, practicality, and realism to this idealistic combination of these planets.

Oct 19th/20th Mercury Retrograde Opposite Uranus, Mars Square Jupiter, Venus Trine Jupiter

This is a period in which we may have to be more flexible as the potentials of changes and disruptions can be more strongly at this time. We may have to contend with surprises, inconsistencies, or impulsiveness which may be an inconvenience. The need to break free or separate from something may come up. Rebellious communication can also occur and it can be harder to focus. We should keep in mind that we may not be seeing things clearly or thoroughly so it’s good to be cautious if possible.

We may have to change the way we think about something or take a unique approach. However, for some people this can also be one of the more insightful periods of the retrograde. This energy has been present since before the retrograde began but is stronger and more noticeable at this time.

Mars retrograde is in a square with Jupiter which could reflect conflicts around beliefs, opinions, judgements, or perspectives. This can also contribute to scatteredness or excessiveness. Venus is in a trine with Jupiter (stronger earlier in the day) which can reflect optimism, expansiveness, growth, or fortunate circumstances around relations, love, financial matters, values, pleasures, or anything aesthetic related.

Oct 24th-26th Mercury Retrograde Conjunct the Sun (Inferior Conjunction)

This is the halfway point of Mercury retrograde, known as the ‘inferior conjunction,’ which is when it returns to the Sun. This can be a period of increased insights, and the themes or circumstances pertaining to how this retrograde is affecting you may come up more during this period.

Complications and frustrations can also be stronger at this time depending on your circumstances or how you are applying yourself. This may also be a period of ridding yourself of certain thoughts, ideas, perceptions, old interests, expectations, or other things that are not serving you while the potential for new ones may be seeded.

Oct 31st – Nov 7th Mercury Retrograde Square Saturn as it transitions from Retrograde to Direct

This can be a time of obstacles, delays, limitations, and restrictions as Mercury squares Saturn while it is slowing down and changing motion on November 3rd. This energy can be sobering and communications can have a pessimistic tone. Issues may come up that require realism, discipline, structure, orderliness, practicality, and caution.

Nov 3rd/4th Mercury transitions from Retrograde to Direct

Mercury will slowly begin to move forward from Nov 3rd/4th  onward. The areas of our lives that have been affected by this retrograde will start to become more clear and things will fall into place more easily as we progress into the coming days and weeks, but more so after November 7th and especially after November 13th. As Mercury gradually picks up speed, we can move forward in the areas of life that have been affected. However, usually the first few days after it ends can still feel like it is retrograde as complications may occur due to Mercury’s stationary position and in this case, its square with Saturn. It’s usually best to wait until at least 3 days afterwards before finalizing decisions, agreements, etc.

In the following weeks as Mercury is in its post retrograde shadow (until November 19th), Jupiter will be in a conjunction with Pluto that entire time but peaks as Mars ends its retrograde on November 13th/14th.  This is an energy that can be further revealing of Plutonian issues of shadows, abuse, hidden matters, and darkness. The first conjunction of Jupiter-Pluto happened in late March and early April, when there was a lot of conspiracy information coming out and also widespread fear which is associated with Pluto. It can also be transformative, empowering, and a time of tremendous growth depending on what we are doing.

As Mars slowly begins to move forward following November 13th/14th, we may feel like we are ready to proceed in different ways based on what has transpired in the first half of the month. We can begin to feel more assertive, bold, courageous, and direct. Things can move along with less obstacles and challenges in comparison to the previous months.

Mercury Moves into Cancer – Covid update…

Cancer, the planet which influences communication, travel, commerce, and technology moves into Cancer on 28th May at 7.10pm UCT where it will reside until the 4th August. So for over 10 weeks it transits one of its least positive locations. Why? Well, the logic of Mercury is diluted by the watery emotion of Cancer. This can lead to subjective decision making and confusion.

Initially with social distancing being eased, many families will happily meet, but it goes into Shadow from the 2nd of June and a Retrograde from 18th of June. This continues to July 12th before emerging from Shadow on 26th July.

There are big planetary clashes along the way not least it is in a tense Quincunx with strict Saturn at the outset, which can create a conflict between responding in a more emotional way to our needs, rather than with cool detachment.

Mercury Retrograde in Leo – July 2019

Mercury Retrograde or RX commences on July 7th at 4° Leo and ends on July 31st at 23° Cancer. Mercury is also conjunct the driven and more forceful energies of Mars. And in the sign of Leo they both occupy, this combination (which has gone on from the start of July) is set to amplify our thoughts, and the urgency of how we want to articulate them. If you have felt restless, on edge or have had a headache, it would be of little surprise.

Furthermore, just as the Retrograde begins the duo also square with the restless energies of Uranus in Taurus. In fact, Mars will continue to angle up sharply to Uranus until the 17th of July. Now, many know that Mercury Retrograde can lead to glitches of all kinds. What we need to do is think about the energies that Mercury radiates in the sign of Leo. Leo is very self expressive, proud and sociable. It can also get us thinking about how we can share our talents to others, or even calculating where we might be bolder in our approach. It is also a very persuasive location for Mercury, so if we have an idea that we want to share, we can do so with added enthusiasm during this transit.

But with Mars in the mix, what might be meant as enthusiasm could come across as being darn right opinionated, dogmatic or domineering. So it is going to be important to us all, not to adhere so closely to our point of view, that we lose sight of the big picture, or importantly, anyone’s right to disagree with us. Because of Uranus’ role, the potential for impulse is increased, and that can lead to comments or utterances being blurted out that are startling, rebellious, outspoken, and perhaps somewhat insensitive. Arguments are possible. So as Mercury’s Retrograde begins is may be best to steer clear of contentious subjects, or anyone we find tricky to deal with.

Furthermore if we are thinking of splashing the cash, it will be very important to think carefully about the consequences. The problem is, it may be hard to be so measured. Usually Mercury gives us more detachment, but together with Mars and Uranus, a rasher desire for instant gratification can surface. Games of chance, or any kind of speculation can be riskier at this time but weirdly, may also be more alluring.
As ever with Mercury Retrograde the nervous system can be affected, and may find it more difficult to relax in the conjunction with Mars and right angle with Uranus.

Anything to do with technology, transport, distribution, household appliances, ticketing, on-line purchases, travel, deals, negotiations, are all more likely to be subject to glitches, things going awry, delays and frustrations. So it follows, that if we are set to meet someone for a rendezvous, be it for a gathering, or even a romantic date, then a change could be made, and possibly last minute. Leo is less concerned by the acute detail of situations or information but these are precisely the things we need to micromanage to reduce the potential of things to go wrong. We can’t completely negate Mercury RX ourselves but we can do all we can do in our own personal sphere of influence or domain to reduce the potential for problems.

However, we will have to ward off a tendency to be overly prickly or defensive or to rush to judgement. Others can prove exasperating too. We may encounter people who are unreliable, don’t answer text messages, emails or social media shares. Of course Leo people initially, Cancer people latterly, and those born in Gemini, Virgo, the Third Decan of Libra (14th to the 23rd of October) Sagittarius (where Mercury is in Detriment) or the Second Decan of Aquarius (1st to 10th of February) and those of Pisces (where Mercury is in Fall) can all be impacted by the Retrograde.

Once Mercury reverses back into Cancer, on the 19th July, we may find it harder to gather our thoughts, to articulate how we really feel, and feel more reserved. However, if we give ourselves permission this can be a good time to do careful research (as long as we verify it) and generally take stock. Some issues which have stubbornly refused to be sorted can be repaired, so Mercury Retrograde isn’t all bad. We may hear from someone long past, or ironically, not hear from those we would expect communication.

Indeed, if some plans that we hope to initiate at this time are subject to delays, it may turn out for the best and in the fullness of time, we will get to where we really need to be, though that is not a given, and for sure this is probably not the best of times to be involved in a serious business transaction or a property chain.

From the 27th July to the 31st of July, Mercury also goes into a 3 degree orb opposition to Pluto. And with the Sun in conflict with Uranus from the 26th to the 31st of July, this combination can ramp up the potential for intense discussions, power battles and disagreements. Watch out for anyone with a kind of might is right type of attitude. Dogma, and pride make challenging partners.

Fortunately on the 2nd of August Mercury goes direct, returns to Leo on the 12th of August, and emerges from shadow on the 16th. Some of the sagas that get generated during its Retrograde can then start to unravel, events speed up, and generally because of the Sun’s three week conjunction with Venus, see this month be lighter and brighter all round.

Vedic Astrology for August: Eclipses and Mercury Retrograde Offer Challenge and Opportunity

vedic astrology May 2015

August marks the start of a significant and busy month that includes a fascinating eclipse season, with a lunar eclipse occurring on August 7 followed by a total solar eclipse on August 21. These eclipses are the big news this month and may bring deep, personal shifts and expanded revelations.
Mars, planet of action and vitality, while being debilitated in the sign of Cancer most of August, brings lessons about how we can direct our energies more appropriately. Mercury, planet of communications, begins its retrograde motion in August, suggesting a time of review and revision. Then Saturn, lord of truth, goes direct at the end of August, bringing increased productivity.

Eclipses are catalysts for change and they can bring significant events into one’s life. They reveal truths and break down barriers, helping us to grow. In Vedic, eclipses are days for spiritual life and inner work, such as meditation, mantra recitation, pranayama, yoga, retreat, and introspection. Traditionally they are not auspicious days for material activities, such as business or financial dealings, as we may not see as clearly, or unexpected issues may surface and need to be dealt with.

In general, solar eclipses are more potent that lunar ones and tend to have a greater global effect. Also, the three to six days on either side of eclipse dates can be unstable, so do things that help you ground and feel supported, like connect with family and friends and spend time in natural or peaceful surroundings.

The first eclipse is a lunar one which takes place on August 7, 2017 at 21 degrees Capricorn in the nakshatra of Shravana. Being in the sign of Capricorn creates focus on our work, business, the government and service. Shravana nakshatra is about taking the higher moral ground, having good ethics, and re-establishing order and dharma in our lives. We may need to let go of emotional attachments or any activities that pull us down. This eclipse can also prompt us to prioritize our lives, focus on our spiritual side, and decide what is truly important and heart-felt in life. The key is to feel hopeful for the future.

The more powerful eclipse happens on August 21 when we will experience a total solar eclipse, which will be entirely visible in the United States. This is extremely significant, since the last time there was a total solar eclipse visible across the United States was in 1918! This eclipse occurs at 4 degrees Leo in the nakshatra of Magha. This nakshatra connects us to other dimensions or higher realms as it is ruled by the Ketu, planet of moksha, which gives brings in spirituality, heightened sensitivity and vulnerability.
The deities associated with Magha nakshatra are the Pitris, the deified ancestors which brings an opening to heal past ancestral or familial issues. The symbol for Magha nakshatra is a throne, so it carries royal energies, signifying events could surface surrounding a member of royalty or a political leader. And as this eclipse is in the sign of Leo ruled by the Sun, we may experience insights connected to our identity, soul connections, self-esteem, and career choices.

Mercury, planet of communications and travel, goes retrograde in the sign of Leo from August 12 until September 5, 2017. It is significant that Mercury is near the eclipse on August 21 (within 10 degrees) and in the same sign, so lack of clarity, angry words, or misunderstandings may affect our communications during this time.  In general during a Mercury retrograde period, it is wise to be precise with what you say or put in writing. It’s a good time to review your plans and research ideas, back up data, and take time for inner reflection and meditation.

Mars, planet of action and energy, is a major influence the month of August. First, debilitated Mars in Cancer is somewhat close to the August 21 solar eclipse (within 7 degrees), so we must watch for being too impulsive or acting out of fear, which can later bring regret. Stay calm and be mindful.

A few days after the solar eclipse, on August 23 and 24, Mars will be at its exact degree of debility at 28 degrees of Cancer, which is a period to be extra careful in how we assert ourselves with others. Later on August 27 and 28, Mars leaves its debilitated sign of Cancer and enters the fire sign of Leo, where it will immediately conjunct Rahu (north node of Moon) at 0 degrees Leo, which can be quite a combustible combination.

This conjunction of Mars and Rahu occurs at the juncture between a water sign and fire sign – called gandanta or “spiritual knot,” indicating we are working through some ancient karma, and possibly testing our power and courage. Watch for increased agitations, rising tempers, or power struggles with others. This is a time to slow down, be neutral, and don’t get overly stimulated or project our frustrations onto others. Don’t let your fears sabotage you. Accept the journey you have taken, and don’t fight what you’re here to learn. Be accepting and responsive with others. Be open and channel the powerful energy generated by Mars and Rahu into creative, uplifting activities instead.

Saturn, planet of discipline and truth, goes direct at 27 degrees Scorpio on August 25, 2017, having been retrograde since April 5, 2017. This directional shift of Saturn occurs within days of the August 21 solar eclipse which may influence Saturn’s direct motion in a significant way.  Issues that have been dormant since April may rise now to be addressed and solidified. With increased effort, you can find better ways to serve others.

It seems that August is going to be a fairly exciting month, but remember your intention creates your reality. Maintain your personal integrity and walk your talk. Be more dedicated with your personal practices. Don’t avoid the challenges, but move gracefully through them. Engage in activities that do not create more suffering in the world. If you do, you’ll have big opportunities to grow and expand your awareness.

The Do’s and Don’ts During Mercury Retrograde (April 9 – May 3)

If you find yourself experiencing difficulty with getting projects started, communication with others, and your electronics seem to be going haywire lately, it could be because Mercury is retrograde at this time. The planet Mercury went retrograde yesterday (April 9) and we will feel the effects until May 3. Many of us, myself included, have blamed Mercury for many of our mishaps when it is retrograde. There are suggested do’s and don’ts that can help you survive Mercury retrograde during this potential challenging time.

First, let’s define what does Mercury retrograde mean? The planet Mercury rules communication, contracts, paperwork, travel, the mind/thoughts, and ideas. For about 3 weeks at a time, the planet goes backwards which can and often does cause confusion and a bit of chaos in our lives.

When Mercury is retrograde, there are certain areas in our lives that would benefit from taking some time to reflect upon. However, there are also some things that it would be best to avoid doing.

Dont’s

  • Make important decisions
  • Sign contracts
  • Buy a car
  • Begin a new relationship
  • Take anything personally at this time

Do’s

  • Take your time reading paperwork/contracts
  • Reflect on your past decisions
  • Have back-up plans for travel
  • Repair your car
  • Re-color your hair
  • Review your financial situation
  • Give yourself and your space a good clearing
  • Release an unhealthy habit

What You Can Expect

  • Miscommunication – you may be misunderstood and or you may misinterpret other’s words and actions
  • Electronics going haywire – computers, telephones etc.
  • Batteries dying
  • Angry behavior
  • Mistakes
  • Getting lost, tardiness
  • More accidents
  • People from your past may make come back into your life

As you can see, there are benefits to the Mercury retrograde cycle. You are being given the opportunity to stop and review your relationships, finances and the decisions you have made. Your life doesn’t have to be put on hold when Mercury is retrograde and sometimes we must sign contracts or have challenging conversations with others. My advice is to take your time and think before you speak, don’t take anything personally, give yourself extra time to get to your destinations and have a few back-up plans in place.

Blessings and Light,

Mercury in Retrograde April 9 – May 3: How to Get the Most Out of It

By Tanaaz | Forever Conscious

Since the start of the astrological year on March 25th, we have all been encouraged to forge ahead and to lay down the path for the year to come.

The Sun in Aries has also been supporting this, providing all of us with the motivation and inspiration we need to take action.

Aries is a sign of leadership and perhaps we have all been guided to step up and become leaders of our own lives in some way.

As we approach April 9 however, the Universe will be cautioning us to slow down. While we will still be supported to move ahead, the Universe will want to make sure that we are heading in the highest and best possible direction.

To help us determine this, Mercury will go retrograde on April 9th until May 3rd.

During this time period, Mercury will travel from earthy Taurus back into fiery Aries. It will take until May 20th for Mercury to return to his original spot in Taurus and resume full potential.

Many people fear Mercury Retrograde, believing that this little planet is responsible for communication breakdowns, delays and technical difficulties. While Mercury influences all of these things, if he causes delays or issues, he often has a very good reason.

Mercury is the messenger of the Gods, and if he causes any delays or issues in your life, it could be because he has a message for you.

It is very important to pay attention while Mercury is retrograde, as you don’t want to miss the helpful messages that the Gods may be trying to deliver to you.

If you do notice typical Mercurial issues, take a moment to pause, reflect and see if perhaps it could be a sign that you need to change directions or look at things differently.

With the energy of the new year still in full bloom, this April 2017 retrograde will be mainly focused on grounding and creating a secure foundation so you can move forward with ease and confidence.

When Mercury slows down in April, we are all going to be guided to go within and work out what is really important to us and why we want to take the path that we have chosen.

This Mercury retrograde is also heavily focused around career and money. If either of these things have been an issue for you, Mercury will allow you to finally bring the truth to the surface.

Mercury will allow you to see clearly what is blocking your way and how you can get your career or financial situation into better shape.

While in retrograde, Mercury will be guiding you to take ownership of what you really want in regards to your career. This energy will help you to rework your goals, dreams and wishes so you are more aligned with your highest truth.

If money has been an issue, Mercury is going to be supporting you to get things in order. Perhaps you will be encouraged to think about your finances and to take more responsibility in regards to your relationship with money.

The Universe is always providing for us and there is enough abundance for all, the trick is to learn how to create space to welcome in this abundance.

Mercury Retrograde (Dec 19 – Jan 8): 9 Things to Avoid and One Crazy Possibility

By  Larry Schwimmer | Elephant Journal

From December 19th to January 8th, 2017, the planetary cosmos mayaffect our lives in crazy ways.

It could even bring confusion to the question, “Who is the rightful President of the United States?”

This cosmic event is called Mercury Retrograde.

This particular Mercury Retrograde may bring chaos and upset to the U.S. Presidency because on December 19th, the presidential electors meet in their respective states to cast their vote for the President (and Vice President) of the United States.

These electors may be concerned with Russian hackers and voting with their conscience.

Consider this news story: At 10:45 p.m. on December 9, 2016, the Washington Post broke an explosive story alleging that Russians had interfered with the 2016 presidential election in order to assist Donald Trump in a victory over democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. The story reveals that a CIA assessment detailing this conclusion had been presented to President Obama and top congressional leaders last week. This recent news event could put the Trump presidency in question. Here is why…

The Founding Fathers were also concerned with the people electing a demagogue, which many see Donald Trump to be. So, the framers built a fail-safe into the Constitution. It’s called the Electoral College. As a Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton was explicit: this mechanism was designed to ensure that “the office of president will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.”

So, whether it is because evidence shows that Russia has tampered with the U.S. presidential election to ensure that Trump won or because Trump is perceived as unqualified because of his demagoguery, these electors may feel unbound to vote for Trump.

What could happen? It is very possible, that on December 19, a small group of Republican electors will be persuaded to vote their conscience and not vote for Trump, which would throw the U.S. presidency into confusion. It’ll be interesting at least to watch what happens on that date.

What about us?

Even if you’re skeptical, it’s interesting to just pay attention and keep an open mind to the life experiences we have over the next three weeks.

Here’s how the planet Mercury may affect us.

Mercury rules our intelligence, mind, memory and all types of communication, ranging from talking and texting to writing. It also affects our self-expression and communication style.

In a more public sense, it rules commerce, computers, telephones, transportation and air travel. How Mercury functions in our birth chart explains a great deal about how we formulate ideas and how we share them. It indicates how we make sense of the everyday world we live in. During these three weeks, our mental faculties may not be functioning well—in fact they might seem to “go on vacation.”

Under this planetary influence (which occurs three times this year), communications of all types can seem to go haywire. We can experience misunderstandings and communication failures in such abundance that we may find ourselves looking up at the sky and stars and saying, “What the hell is going on?”

My answer: Mercury is in Retrograde.

Here is just a sampling of some of the things that may go wrong in our lives at this time.

Nine things I’d advise against, as an astrologer, during Mercury Retrograde:

1. Buying things:

That is—unless you enjoy making purchases that you’ll later regret because you discover that something was wrong with the purchase. I once bought an expensive suit during the retrograde, only to find that two weeks later (when Mercury went direct), the same suit was on sale at 40 percent off.

But if you’re going to buy, do it mindfully.

2. Purchasing computers or begining installations:

This is when you may discover that you bought the computer from hell. You might also regret not buying the three-year warranty the salesperson suggested. And, when you install your new software, you could expect glitches. Hard drives fail, so make sure to back them up ahead of time.

3. Repairing your car:

Unless you absolutely have to. If you have to repair it, make sure to triple-check the work that was done. You may find out when Mercury goes direct that the repair wasn’t properly done and will have to be done again.

4. Selecting or moving in with a roommate:

I have a good friend who invariably finds himself looking for a roommate during the retrograde. Recently, he chose a person he was sure was the perfect roommate. Their credit checked out. They seemed nice enough and said all the right things at their “lets get to know each other” meeting. But once Mercury went direct, he found out that his new roommate was a slob, loved to play music loudly and watched TV into the wee hours of the morning because he was an insomniac.

5. Traveling a lot:

If you can’t put certain trips on hold, just be aware that you can expect an unusual amount of last-minute flight cancellations, meeting postponements and long delays. Allow extra time when traveling; make sure your bags are secure. Re-confirm your reservations, appointments and addresses for your meetings, as delays and cancellations can be expected. (Which is always good advice, any time really!)

A Spiritual Guide for Dealing With Family Over the Holidays (with Mercury Retrograde!)

Ahh family….they trigger a lot for us and are often our greatest teachers in life. As energetic beings, a lot of the energy that we see in our parents dwells within us as well.

This energy can sometimes be so strong that it causes similar patterns or life themes to emerge. If you find yourself following in the same footsteps as any one of your parents, or even grandparents, this is because of the similar energy that you share.

Part 1: You Chose Your Family, Remember?

Your soul chose your family because it knew the energy it was going to receive from your family was exactly the type of energy you needed to grow and develop. Why it is important for your soul to grow and develop?

The Universe’s existence relies on expansion, and as you grow you also expand. Without soul growth the Universe would not be able to exist. It is the great energetic cycle of life. As we grow, we expand and as we expand, so too does the Universe.

Sometimes we can take energy on from our family because our soul is here to take that energy and progress it along. You may take your family’s mentalities, skills, talents and tenacity and use it to start a new project or help complete an old one. This is seen very often in families, and if you pay attention, you may even see it in your own.

For example, my mother was also a spiritual teacher. Her spiritual teachings were religiously based but they were also very open minded and rooted in deep eastern and Zen philosophies. It wasn’t until I got older and started looking through her library of books about extraterrestrials, spirit guides and the afterlife that I realized her teachings were way more than religious.

My mother was also a writer for a spiritual magazine when she was younger and worked alongside many priests and religious figures in India. At the time she was breaking ground in her community because it was very rare that women would enter into this kind of work.

It wasn’t until I realized all of this that I understood where I had inherited a lot of my interests from. I realized that I was simply carrying on the torch.

My great grandmother on my father’s side also started a tutoring school for young children. The school grew and grew until she created her own academy. This school still stands today in India and is run by my grandmother.

Even though I knew this, it didn’t quite hit me that I was following some of this energy in my life as well.

When I lived in Australia I also used to tutor students. My list of students grew quite large and it wasn’t until my dad commented about my great grandma, that I realized where I may have inherited part of these talents and energy from.

Very often we brush these events off as upbringing. Of course we are going to follow similar patterns to our parents because they raised us and so on. While there is definitely truth to this, I didn’t even know my great grandmother and growing up in Australia I never even had any contact with the school.

Instead it is the energy that has been transferred and handed down through the generations that is operating here. We all have this and we all have energy from our family that we inherited that we are operating with. We don’t just inherit DNA, we also inherit energy.

If there are seemingly negative family patterns, your soul may be the one that has also come to break the spell or break the cycle. Your soul may have come to heal and end self-limiting family patterns that may have been present for centuries.

Often deep issues that are present in the family are carried on energetically, until someone can transcend it and shift that energy into something new and exciting. I believe that this is also symbolically seen in the gender of the children.

Of course there is no exact science to this, but I think females are there to end cycles and males are there to continue and progress cycles. This is often seen with the first sibling, so perhaps look at the gender of the first born in your family and see if there could be some truth to this for you.

Again, this is only something I have observed, so perhaps it may not resonate or be true for you.

Sometimes it can be difficult to comprehend why you chose the family that you did. If you ever feel this way, perhaps you are not looking deep enough.

Part 2: Why You Chose Your Family

It can be hard to see our family members acting or doing things that we don’t agree with or that we don’t like, but when you look beyond the external and into the internal, what do you see?

It is often the energy that holds the clue and the answer here, not the external events. Even though the external events have to be dealt with and experienced, sometimes it is not until you look beyond all this that you can really understand what is going on.

A dear friend of mine has a mother who appeared to be very cold and unsupportive. All her life she grew up feeling disconnected from her mother and that her mother didn’t really care for her. She felt her mother was jealous of her in some way, as she was the only other female in her immediate family.

This caused her to feel a very strained relationship not just with her mother, but with her entire family. Being the only other female, she felt alone and felt left out.

It wasn’t until she moved away from home and had her awakening that she realized the true nature of her mother and why she had chosen her. Of course, this was a realization that spanned over several years and caused a lot of pain, but it also triggered a great amount of healing.

It was through healing this relationship in her life and accepting her mother and understanding her that she was able to also move on with her life and find her purpose and calling.

While the relationship with her mother may appear to still be the same, as her mother was never really part of her healing process, she was able to transcend the relationship and heal it on an energetic level. Organically, this caused more comfort and understanding between the two, even though a lot of the healing came from just one side.

Healing with family members can be difficult because not all family members want to or are ready to participate. However, this story is a great example to show that you don’t really need their physical participation. My friend was able to heal and mend the relationship with her mother through her.

While they are not super close with each other, there is now peace between them because there is peace in her mind. Through transcending the relationship with her mother on her own, she was able to heal the situation.

She was there to end the cycle for all the women in her family, not just her and not just her mother. This is how powerful this can be. But it does take work and it does take time.

Healing and transcending family cycles and patterns is huge work, and it cannot be done overnight. Often it is something that most of us are doing over the course of an entire lifetime, or maybe more.

While everyone’s healing journey is going to be different, it is important to view each family member for who they really are. When you can lift off the layers and the past hurts and see beneath it all, it will allow you to glimpse into their soul.

Their soul energy is also a part of you, so what you see in your family members also exists in you as well. When you can see the light shining through, when you can focus on the love behind it all, it will allow you to shift into acceptance.

“I accept that this is the family I chose. I accept that this family holds a lot of the energetic lessons that I am to also move through. I remember that my soul was excited to come into this family as my soul knew it was going to be able to bring love and joy where it was needed.”

Part 3: Themes Explored in this Guide

There are three main themes which this guide is going to explore-

Theme #1:

2016 has been a year endings which means that conversation at the holiday table may reflect this. Many of your family members could have gone through big transitions this year as well, which means that they may be feeling vulnerable or in need of support.

Theme #2:

The holiday period this year also takes place during a mercury retrograde, which means that communication is also going to be an important factor to pay attention to.

Theme #3:

Here in the US we had a big election which means that politics or other heavy topics like religion and so on, may also be a point of discussion at the holiday table.

In this guide, I am going to share with you some techniques that you can use for these three themes and how you can take a more spiritual and peaceful approach-

Theme 1: Endings and Vulnerability

Many people were releasing and letting go of skeletons this year, so it is very likely you are going to have some family members that have made big and bold changes. If anything has fallen away for anyone in your family, the biggest thing they need is support and a big boost of confidence.

One of my family members is thinking of quitting her job which she has been miserable with for a few years now. Whenever she spoke about her job I would be quick to jump on her and even force my opinion on her- just quit, love yourself and quit!!!

But throughout the year I have realized that perhaps I pushed my opinions just a little too hard. Perhaps it would have been better if I had shown more support instead of potentially making her feel worse about her decision to stay.

It is not that I did anything wrong, but here is an example of where it may be better to show support, rather than to force your opinion. If they ask for your opinion you can offer it of course, but perhaps gentle suggestions to make the person realize things for themselves is going to be far more powerful.

Even though sometimes we can see things so clearly, it may be difficult for others to see it, or to even see it in the same way that we do. So even if it is blazingly obvious to you, show respect by allowing them to talk freely and be supported in whatever way they need to be supported.

If you can be the light, if you can walk in the room and fill it up with so much love and acceptance for everyone, then the Universe will surely bless you with the same.

Theme 2: Mercury Retrograde and Communication

When Mercury goes retrograde he travels through the darkness. Mercury and the Sun are best buddies and Mercury is often in the light. But when Mercury retrogrades he travels through the darkness of the underworld, unearthing secrets and old pains of the past.

Related Article: 6 Ways To Stay Mindful During Mercury Retrograde (through June 12)

Mercury needs to go into the underworld because when he is in there, he fishes out old thoughts, beliefs and conversations that need to be cleansed and purified. This is why Mercury retrograde is a great time to go back to things and to tie up any lose ends, especially when it comes to communication.

Because Mercury is busy in the underworld collecting hidden gems, his ability to connect in the external world in the sunshine can be limited or can feel like more of an effort. Mercury is busy going within in order to make you a better and more effective communicator, and sometimes he doesn’t like to be disturbed.

Interestingly, those born with Mercury Retrograde are often some of the best communicators around because they have had to work so hard to master the art of communication. The same goes for anyone born with any retrograding planet, often it becomes their strongest ally.

This year, Mercury is going to retrograde in the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is practical and stable, which means that Mercury is going to be clearing out your closets in a very practical and matter of fact way. There will no room for emotion, instead Mercury is going to clear out your throat chakra with a certain air of disconnect.

This is great, because in many ways it tones down any emotional reactions and allows us to see things from a more grounded point of view.

While Mercury is doing this cleaning, we may feel more withdrawn and repressed when it comes to expressing how we feel. On the other hand, it may cause some people to just start spilling the contents of their throat chakra all over the place, so this may be something to watch out for.

During a Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn, we are encouraged to take responsibility for what we choose to express and how we choose to express it. We are also encouraged to clear out and release things that we may have been clinging on to emotionally.

In other words- don’t say anything you are going to regret later. Think carefully before you speak and ask yourself- “is what I am going to say more beautiful than silence?”

If it’s not, then you may be better of scribbling it in your journal instead or releasing it to the heavens.

Mercury retrograde is also going to help us to reconnect with loved ones and family members that we haven’t seen for some time. Fondly revising the past will also be great under this energy and you may just run into loved ones that you have missed dearly.

Over the holidays, try to consider other people’s feelings before you say anything. While you definitely don’t want to censor yourself, perhaps avoid making harsh comments or lashing out at others until you have really thought it through.

If you become the brunt of a tongue lashing, here is your survival guide-

  1. Laugh to yourself and blame mercury (he can take it)
  2. Take a deep belly breath in and out of your nose
  3. Try not to get triggered and reply from a place of grace
  4. If all else fails, say what you need and then once calm, address and talk about it from a more mature place

If you suspect something like this may happen, you may want to do a visualization technique. Visualize the day going very smoothly and beautiful and peaceful conversations.

You may also want to use this affirmation/prayer-

“Dear angels and spirit guides, please protect me today and allow me to respond to everyone with a calm grace and ease. Please allow me to speak my truth in a loving way and please guide me if an intense situation may arise. Please be with me throughout the day and gently point me in the best direction for my highest good. Thank you so much.”

Theme 3: Politics and Other Heavy Topics

Everyone as the right to think what they want, practice what they want and vote for who they want. We have to first and foremost respect this, even if we don’t share the same beliefs. Presidents, beliefs and ideologies come and go, so don’t hold your family hostage because of one action.

During the holidays, it is best to avoid these topics but at the same time, there is no reason why you can’t state your point of view and how you feel, to do this consciously focus on “I” statements.

When you make “I” statements it allows you to take responsibility for what you are saying and your own feelings. When you put your feelings on someone else by making “you” statements, that is when things can get tricky.

For example, “I was really disappointed to see who got elected” is an “I” statement and allows you to take full ownership if your feelings. No one can argue with you over how you feel, so this is a no-conflict approach, compared to-

“I can’t believe you guys voted like that, I am so disappointed in you.”

This statement is placing blame and instantly will start to put the defenses up of people around you. This is what you want to avoid, so if you do express your feelings (and please feel free to do!) always aim for the “I” statements.

This is a helpful technique with all seemingly argumentative topics from religion to politics and so on.

My personal advice would be, when in doubt just be quiet, leave the room, go outside, take a deep breath and see if you can spot any fairies. While doing so, remind yourself that this is all just part of the bigger journey in life and we are all just walking each other home….this works for me every time.

Part 4: Tools You Can Use

Belly Breathing- instantly calms and energizes after draining experiences We all have relatives that can feel a little

draining at times. We also all have relatives that like to push our buttons. This belly breathing exercise is wonderful for curing both of these types of situations.

999 Day Of Potent Frequency: Life Tools For Well-Being September 2016

By Simone Matthews | Universal Life Tools

2016 the road ahead in this universal 9 year

This coming Friday 9th September is quite a significant day in numerology, for together we embrace a ‘9’ Day, in a ‘9’ Month and in a ‘9’ Year (2+0+1+6=9)….  999 day of potent frequency.

To understand the significance of the 999 energy for this coming Friday 9 September 2016 (including the 18th September & 27th September), lets look at the individual components that weave together to create a synergy of divine potential this month.

A little about Numerology

Numerology is a most ancient and mystical art form for understanding our own personal cycles of growth & evolution AND becoming conscious of ourselves in the greater context of planetary & cosmic evolution.

If you have ever attended a workshop with me you will know how much I LOVE numerology (I am a ‘777’, what can I say, it is in my genes)…  and I just LOVE how the field communicates with us with such clarity & ease through numbers.

I personally feel that numerology should be taught to children in school to help them navigate the teenage years, embrace young-adulthood and to support the blossoming of wisdom through the senior years.   When we become conscious of the meaning and energetic significance of the vibration of numbers within our lives, we are empowered to know ourselves, consciously align our inner-cycles with our outer cosmic-cycles and awaken to the grandest version of the greatest vision we have ever held for ourselves.

Whether you work consciously with Soul Numerology (refer to Shealla-Dreaming) of your name, your date of birth, your personal year… or just work with the sacred messages that numbers gift you within your environment (eg number plates, clocks, car odemeters etc)… numerology becomes a guide and sacred tool to navigate the journey of the Soul.

Energy of the Number 9

The number 9 in numerology most commonly resonates with completion & endings… but I have always seen it as a number that means so much more than this.

When I connect with the energy of the number 9, to me the feeling and deepest meaning of 9 is that of service, humanitarian pursuits, altruism, philanthropy and sacred wisdom.   Yes, the number 9 represents the end of a cycle (numerological cycles flow from 1 through to 9), but it is this ‘end’ which represents a journey of awakening to a deep inner wisdom, sacred service and a profound insight into our authentic selves.

Whilst a chapter in your life may come to a close through the 9 vibration, the wisdom gained has the potential of opening a new chapter more divine, more full of light, more heart-warmingly courageous than you ever thought possible for yourself.

Collectively in 2016, we are all experiencing a Universal 9 Year in numerology ((2+0+1+6=9).   Whilst we have our own personal numerological & astrological cycles that influence us individually in 2016 (and every other year), on a collective level the ‘9’ vibrational energy fosters a deeply reflective year, a year of completion, a year of letting go and a year of possibility.   It may also foster for you a year of sharing your insights, pearls of wisdoms & sacred learnings in service to others… a year of caring and supporting your community through the heart.

In addition, I find that in a ‘9’ Universal Year we can begin to feel a bit edgy, particular as the year draws to an end, as we sit on the precipice of a whole now cycle, a Universal ‘1’ year commencing in 2017. It may feel as if you have outgrown every thing in your life, and what you used to love just doesn’t have the same appeal any more.   My advice during this ‘9’ Universal Year that is 2016 is to hang in there, have gratitude and appreciation for what you have been blessed with over this last 9 year cycle… and then with gratitude you can then embrace the following ‘1’ vibrational year – 2017 – with wild abandon !!!!!

Energy of the Number 999

So what is this 999 energy you may ask ?

When numbers are tripled, the energy of the number is amplified and we experience its vibratory potential to a heightened degree.

During the month of September we experience a double ’99’ vibration, as we are within the 9th Month within a 9 Universal Year.

BUT… here is where the energy comes to us full throttle… on the 9th September (as well as on the 18th & 27th September 2016) we are bathed in a cosmic soup of 999 energy !

This 999 vibration is a powerful symbol and energetic wave of potential that inspires you to leave behind that old version of yourself and step into an awakened, enlightened and luminscent essence of your Soul Potential.

The BIG questions in life usually come up during a 999 vibratory gateway such as ‘What is my mission/soul purpose ?’… and ‘How can I really step into the REAL me ?’.    My advice is the get out of the head and instead take the energy of the 999 down into your heart.. how do you feel ?  what makes your heart sing ? and then take baby steps into shining the light and opening this new chapter within your life.

September 2016 – Lunar & Solar Eclipses

On a very interesting note, our 999 numerological days this September 2016 (the 9th, 18th & 27th September) are being influenced/inter-woven with the energy of our Solar Eclipse just passed on September 1, our Lunar Eclipse coming up on the 16/17 September (I will write about this in next weeks community newsletter) and our Spring/Autumn Equinox on the 23 September when finally Mercury moves direct.. yeh !!!!

I feel that these other astrological influences are heightening even further the energy of our 999 days during this September 2016.    You most probably have been feeling something brewing this year, a deep tension building on the inside… and hence an inner yearning to open the ‘release valve’ as the pressure may have been too much at times.   I feel that our 999 days this September will be the opening of this ‘release valve’  and will provide the relief you have been seeking.

BUT (and yes there is always a BUT)… I recommend you be mindful on just HOW you release all of that pent up energy.

For some, the release may not be pretty.. blame, anger, rage may come pouring out like a volcano exploding and entering the stratosphere.  Oh, the mental images flooding my mind as I type this… this doesn’t look pretty at all…. sort of reminds me of those photos flooding the web of Thermomixes exploding !

But if you are mindful, spend time ‘Earthing’ in nature and consciously connect with the potential of 999 as an opportunity of deepest insight and awakenend potential… then this release will foster a quantum leap into a next cycle of evolutionary potential.

As I discussed in my Solar Eclipse article, whilst this month is extraordinarily powerful, it doesn’t have to be a horrendous experience of loss, despair, struggle and inner-turmoil.  You have a choice to experience this month with a heightened or awakened vision of divine potential.  Let the astrological alignments and magickal weavings of 999 support you with the practical steps to transcend any obstacles in your path… and jump off that darn cycle that is limiting you from expressing your full potential.

Now that feels better doesn’t it, opening your pressure value gently, with grace & ease… and stepping in the light, love & beauty that is YOU ♡

Summary – September 2016 – 999

On reflection of everything I have written above, my advice to you on these 999 days during September 2016 are as follows:

  • Breathe.  Yes Breathe.   Whilst our autonomic nervous systems set the pace and does this for us, when we tune in each day and consciously focus on our Breath, we step out of the program of fear that is so enmeshed within the field.  We re-establish a new rhythym, an awakened breath, an awakened heart-beat, a breath that knows no boundaries through the sacred flow of the great
    Cosmic Breath.

What Mercury Retrograde Shadow Period Means For You: Relationship Review Time

couple talking in bed

*Eleditor’s note: Astrology isn’t a religion. We’re not sure it’s a science, either. It’s magic, maybe. But, as with feng shui, say, things affect things. So as long as we don’t go blaming our problems on the stars, as long as we assume responsibility for our own actions…well, hell, a little auspicious coincidence and applicable wisdom can’t hurt. And so, with that grain of salt…enjoy!

On Thursday April 28th Mercury turns retrograde in the sensual Earth sign of Taurus, but enters its shadow phase two weeks prior on April 14th.

For this particular retrograde period, not only the three weeks of the actual retrograde are going to matter, but the entire shadow phase will as well. This is because three planets are turning retrograde this month which will amplify each other’s energy and deepen the journey that we are all embarking on.

Taurus is a carnal Earth sign that is ruled by Venus, the planet of love. She is the sign that is all about pleasurable aspects of life. In mythology Venus ruled beauty, love and pleasure—she didn’t deny herself anything that felt good.

This unadorned mysterious indulgence will be guiding us in all that we do—quite simply, if we want it—we will do anything it takes to get it.

Each retrograde period tends to focus on one particular aspect of our lives, and for the next five weeks the area of our hearts and relationships will be returning for review.

“We cannot start over, but we can begin now and make a new ending.” ~ Z. Ziglar

Love is all that matters.

Situations we thought we’d said goodbye to are suddenly sitting right on our doorstep knocking again. The thing with retrogrades, they only bring up the aspects of our lives that we need to take a second look at.

No matter how good our intentions are, we often make decisions that aren’t in our best interest.

We make choices based on what we think we should, or need to do and then end up realizing—often times too late—that we choose the wrong path.

This is precisely the best part of Mercury retrograde—it gives us the chance to review our heart’s secrets.

Retrogrades are famous for technology and travel issues, and while they could still abound during this particular cycle—the general theme many of us will see during the course of the next few weeks are shakeups in our romantic relationships.

Often times retrogrades are said be the time to avoid starting anything new—jobs, or relationships. This three to five week period is all about review, and that is precisely why while starting something new may not be a good idea—going back to something old is always encouraged.

This means that if we get a call from someone we knew previously from our professional network who has a wonderful career opportunity for us, we should jump on it. Likewise, if we suddenly meet up with an ex, or find ourselves thinking about an old flame, we should reach out and see what is still there.

If we’re thinking about something—it’s because it matters.

There are no coincidences during retrogrades—the biggest challenge we face is simply to follow the direction that our hearts are pulling us.

The first Mercury retrograde of the year, in January, was all about love as well, yet it was more about reviewing what had gone wrong in the past so that we could start to initiate new patterns of behavior and expectations. Some situations may have blown up or reached a point of no return, yet it wasn’t a true ending but merely the conclusion of just one particular chapter.

Now is when we get to pick up where we left off and write a brand new storyline.
