We all remember being told by our parents or teachers that our imagination is some part of us that isn’t to be trusted. It was where all things real to children, but invisible to adults, such as spirits, angels, etc. come from, go to, and belong. That there is no place for them in the “real” world. An examination of the majority of spiritual paths and religions on this planet reveals an overriding belief that sound was the primary force of creation. Modern scientists, like our ancient mystics, tell us that everything is in a state of vibration, from the electrons moving around the nucleus of an atom to planets in distant galaxies spinning around their suns.

In this day and age, it almost seems impossible to get away from the noise of everyday life. And what’s funny is we even go towards noise to get away from noise! What I mean is, we might throw on our headphones and jam some Led Zeppelin to drown out the noise of the guys outside throwing screaming trees into a chipping machine. You get the idea…

When “Om,” the Hindu primordial sound of creation, is intoned into a tonoscope it forms in the substance the Sri Yantra, the visual representation of the Om chant and the vibration behind the cosmos itself[iii], the “sound” of the aetheric medium or “fabric” of space. Thus we see that the Hindus knew thousands of years ago that sound possessed geometry, or sound into form is a fundamental truth of reality. The Om chant itself is one for expanding consciousness by developing resonance with the cosmos. (Remember, too, that sound waves exist in three dimensions!)
