Did you know whilst this particular Mercury Retrograde lasts 19 days, the whole process is 10 weeks.
• Why? Well there are the Pre and Post Retrograde Shadows to factor in, so this period began on the 25th of November
and ends on the 21st January, itself a momentous date in the new year with Pluto's second ingress to Aquarius.
• Therefore if things feel bogged down, rather like trying to run through a field of glue, you'll know why.
• Further, Neptune is set to be spectacularly influential on this particular phase of this Retrograde, right through to the 12th January.
• How? Well within 3 degrees of exact, which is on December 27th, Mercury and Neptune are in a disorientating square.
• With the feisty Mars also in the mix, the impulse to speak quickly, or to get frustrated rapidly is turned to max.
• The problem is we could base our reactions on faulty information – gossip – or incorrect facts.
• Sagittarius which hosts Mercury RX and Mars is a sign that can amplify energies, Pisces which hosts Neptune, activates our subconscious.
• Thus things that we may otherwise turn the other cheek to, can take on a life force of their own.
• Sagittarius also influences foreign affairs, borders, long-distance travel, and distribution. Expect delays, systems failures and disruption.
• But this isn't going to be just to the 2nd of January when Mercury goes Direct. This is likely to be an issue for the whole of year 2024.
• Sagittarius also governs philosophies but can see a desire for people to impose their ideology on others, thus international relationships are set to be fraught, and our automatic belief that we can benefit from the food chain, or travel as we wish will be tested.
• In the political arena, facts and natural justice will be sacrificed on the altar of those with the most amount of money to spend on managing the news cycle.
• Still, as ever with Mercury Retrograde there are always valuable changes we can make. So ensuring that we are planning well, preparing details carefully and ensuring we enjoy some space and independence at some point over the holidays will help.
