The mesmerizing view of Lucinda Sky, emerging from the waters as her black swimwear clings-on to her seductively is a memorable one. Glancing at the ‘Numero’ cover, one could never guess that this beauty is a survivor of the toughest kind. To many women, she inspired not to quit at any point in time. This is how; Lucinda fought back her illness and it was her fate, and her optimism, that turned her destiny around. Today, life is a lot better for the star and she is here to share her story.
Talk of the Town
The 2016 issue of Numero is special for a lot of reasons. Apart from being a much sought after fashion magazine, it has also been associated with breaking the stereotype for a long time now. While the edition makes for an interesting read, it also is a great eye-catcher all the same. As you flip through the pages, the Lucinda Sky story is sure to catch your fancy.
“I think it’s never too late to achieve your dreams and do what you love. No matter what anyone says, no matter if you come from an abusive family and environment, no matter how old you are, to never stop dreaming and believing, to always keep faith and perseverance to pursue your dreams.”- Lucinda Sky
Now, who can resist the likes of Lucinda Sky by the beach in a ‘skin-hugging’ wet costume anyways? This iconic picture was shot by Sebastian Kim and the near-perfect styling was done by Edward Enninful. Also, much credit was given to the ‘hair and makeup’ look by Lucia Pieroni, who ensured that Lucinda looked like a ‘Siren’ from the sea, with an all-natural yet ‘seductive’ wet-look. The casting direction by Samuel Ellis was immaculate, who ensured that the entire look was not ‘on your face’ type, but more of the breezy natural that the viewer would enjoy.
The Success Story
While the issue was a raging success, it was the content of the issue that emerged the true winner. The issue discussed an exclusive outlook about fashion advice, travel tips, and topics like ‘crossing the fine line of what is’. The ‘Season of Opera 9’ created by the leading producers of Majestic opera is also encompassed in the issue. Also, in focus is the ‘Three Sophies’ with the likes of Sophia Coppolla, Sophie Nouvelle, and Sophia Lucia, who is the new face of Luis Vuitton and the 13-year-old dance prodigy.
The ‘Fashion Series’ by Simon Jaquemus is a must-read about his latest collection. The issue is a well-compiled one that takes you on a ride for the hard work that goes on the ‘backstage’. As said by Lucinda Sky,‘Your appearance is only a part of who you are, true self comes from within. It will show up in how you relate to others and yourself. Self-love is always important. Unless you truly love and accept yourself with all your faults it is hard to accept others or to find the truth behind the image’.
