If you’ve been searching for the perfect place to party on New Year’s Eve in America, then chances are you have thought about Las Vegas.
Really, why wouldn’t you consider coming to the USA’s party central? For a guaranteed night of fun, fireworks, and parties, you really have to visit Las Vegas on December 31.
Now that we have you convinced, it’s time to start planning your celebrations. Whether you are traveling with friends, family, or a loved one, we’ve created the perfect list of everything going on in the city on New Year’s.
Here are our top picks to bring in 2020 with a bang and spend New Year’s Eve in complete and utter style – no matter who you’re partying with.
High Roller
Right in the heart of the Las Vegas strip is the world’s largest observation wheel which will be running until late into the night.
To see the city from a different perspective, we really recommend taking a ride as the New Year’s parties commence and the area comes alive.
You’ll have to book soon, though, because the wheel is very popular and spaces sell out fast.
Le Rêve
French for ‘The Dream’, Le Rêve’s spectacular show combines water, fire, and acrobatics for an intense and entertaining evening.
This year’s shows are being held at Wynn Las Vegas, and tickets are selling out fast. As of September 13, the show on New Year’s Eve is 86% sold out! Act fast and book now – tickets start at $99.
Fireworks
Every year the Las Vegas strip is packed just before midnight with those waiting to bring in the New Year with the city’s famous fireworks. This year, fireworks will be set off from the top of seven casinos, two of which are the oldest casinos in Las Vegas.
According to Mike Tan from OnlineCasinoGems, one thing you need to bear in mind is that Vegas has LOTS of rooftops and that should be your priority for some midnight fireworks. “I’ve done New Year’s Eve in Vegas more than five times now. And I can safely say that the rooftops at MGM Grand, Caesar’s Palace, Planet Hollywood or the Venetian are the best. But most travelers don’t realize that. They think Vegas is only about casinos. But it’s a lot more than that, especially on New Year’s Eve!”
To add to Mike’s point above, we think the best places to see the fireworks will be on the High Roller and pedestrian bridges across the Strip.
Fremont Street Experience
Away from the Strip, the Fremont Street New Year's Eve party will be held once again in downtown Vegas.
For hours of live concerts, on-stage pyrotechnics and tons of surprises, this is the place to be. You should be aware that you will need to buy tickets for this event which are yet to be announced, and the party is for those aged 21 and over.
You could even visit the Fremont Hotel and Casino to try your luck with a few table games – recently, a Hawaiian lady won a $114,307 jackpot when she played the Dragon Wheel with Bonus Spin slot jackpot there in July.
Lady Gaga
That’s right, the one and only Lady Gaga will be performing in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve. After announcing her two-year residency to a strip venue back in December 2017, the nine-time Grammy award winner will be sticking around to bring in 2020 at Park MGM.
The superstar will be performing her Jazz and Piano show, where she is set to sing stripped-down versions of her hits as well as music from the Great American Songbook. The show will start at 8pm and tickets can be purchased via Ticket Master.
Helicopter flight
Other than the High Roller, the very best way to see Las Vegas at night is by helicopter. Vegas Strip Tours will not only take you over the city in the air but will also pick you up from your hotel in a limousine.
The tour lasts around two hours, with 12 minutes spent in the air taking in the New Year’s Eve scenes. The only time slot remaining for December 31 is just before 5pm, so act fast and book!
Check out the casinos
Of course, one of the biggest reasons people visit Vegas is for the casinos. Whether you’re a casual gambler or a serious player, there is something for everyone.
You could browse the best slots in Vegas and give those a try, or you could even check out some table games crash courses and play with the big boys.
There are a whopping 104 casinos in the city, so you’re guaranteed to never get bored!
The Eiffel Tower Experience
It isn’t quite France, but the Eiffel Tower Experience is great fun if you want to give the remarkable landmark a try in small-scale. With prices starting at just $18, it’s also a cheap and cheerful way for the whole family or a large group of friends to see the city together from a height.
The viewing deck near the top of the tower allows visitors to see for miles, which is perfect for watching the New Year’s Eve fireworks.
The tower can be found at Paris Las Vegas, south of the intersection of the Vegas Strip and Flamingo Road. It’s open until 1am year-round, perfect for bringing in 2020.
Chateau Nightclub Shows
For a different taste of Las Vegas nightlife, head to the Chateau Nightclub for a classic French experience mixed with modern additions.
This nightclub is the perfect way to celebrate in style, so dress well in order to get in – the club reserves the right to refuse entry of anyone who does meet dress code standards.
VIP booths can be found both inside and outside and is open until 4am for anyone over the age of 21 to party the night away.
The venue is described as a ‘Gatsby rooftop party’ with a DJ and plenty of dancing. For New Year’s Eve with your friends, this is the place to be. Entry prices start at just under $22 – check out more here.
