In spite of what the doomsayers say, the world is not falling apart and it's not a place of scarcity. On the contrary, poverty is in decline in the US and worldwide.
People think that poverty is getting worse because that's how they've set their minds to believe. Once they do that, they'll only notice the data the reinforces their bias, in spite of what the real data shows us.
There has never been more opportunities to make money and prosper than any other time in history. The problem is that we've given ourselves a poverty mindset, therefore, we'll look for evidence for why we can't get out of our financial situation all around us.
Start with Gratitude
The first step in shifting your mindset to be able to identify opportunities is to be grateful for what you already have and the opportunities already in front of you. Research is showing the power of gratitude to change brain chemistry. That means you can train you brain over time to have a habit of gratitude.
Start by being thankful that you have food to eat and a place to lay your head at night. That hasn't always been so easy.
In the vast majority of the history of mankind, there were no guarantees that we'd have food and shelter. In fact, much of the world still lives in survival mode. Be thankful that those are a given for most in the western world.
Start Paying Attention to Opportunities
Pay attention as you go through the day for money making opportunities. If they seems scarce, there's a simple solution. It's called Google.
Google and YouTube have tons of people that are willing to share how to make money all for free. If you don't see it throughout the day, just Google or YouTube “how to make money” and you'll find plenty to chew on for years.
Don't be negative in your search. Don't look for all the ways it won't work. Make a list of all the reasons that it may.
When our brains have been used to poverty thinking, making excuses for why things don't work become automatic habits. No venture or opportunity is without it's risks and challenges. But that doesn't mean they won't work.

There are tons of businesses you can start online with just a computer or a mobile phone. You don't even need much money to start for many of them.
eCommerce: It used to be that you had to raise a bunch of money, take out business loans or use your life savings to start a business to sell something. You needed money to lease a retail location, buy a bunch of inventory and hire employees. You don't have to do any of that anymore.

Blog: If you're shy and don't want to be on camera, consider blogging. It was one of the first ways average people made money online.

There is no shortage of opportunities out there. It just takes a mindset that is trained to identify them and go after them with abandon.
