California designer, Vina Lustado is quick to point out that her tiny house is not temporary, but her “forever” house. If she moves, it’s going with her. That is one of the great advantage of owing a tiny home. It’s mobile.

According to Houzz, Lustado spent about $40, 000 on her cute and stylish 140′ home that is currently “parked” in beautiful Ojai, California on a one acre lot she shares with her boyfriend who has his own small cabin on the property as well. The two split the $400 per month rent.

Lustado is proud to say that she is living “off grid.” All of her electricity comes from four batteries charged by three solar panels. She has a 7-gallon propane tank that provides fuel  for her fireplace, stove and hot-water heater. The only utility she pays for is water, fed to the house by a garden hose. She uses a “gray water” system that feeds the grapefruit tree right outside of her house.

Her designer approach is evident throughout the entire home. Lustado brought in local artists to help her create many built in elements and she decided on a lovely leaf motif that creates a cohesive pattern throughout.

This is one tiny home that shows just how far a little money can go when coupled with love, designer vision and good, solid carpentry.
