When NOT to Trust Your Intution

“When NOT to Trust Your Intuition” was originally published on Raise Your Vibration Today.

People always tell you to “trust your intuition,” but today I want to share with you a little-known fact about your intuition: it CAN’T always be trusted! Here’s why:

With the Law of Attraction, we are always in the process of attracting to us what we are putting out there.  For example, if I am thinking about having fun with my friends, I will attract to me more thoughts of having fun with my friends, and more events where I have fun with my friends.

When I am in a good feeling place, I am always in the process of attracting to me more thoughts and events that will make me feel good.

However, when I am feeling negatively, the exact opposite is happening. When I feel bad, I naturally have thoughts and impulses that will keep me stuck in my negative feeling if I allow myself to follow them.

From a negative state, we feel compelled to do and say things that will bring us more of the same problems and/or drama into our lives.  We may, for example, feel the impulse to gossip or complain about our friends, confront them, or try to “get even” with them.  We may also feel compelled to worry or feel badly about the situation.

This can be especially tricky, because in the moment we will feel like these actions are the right things to do.  Even the most terrible ideas may feel perfectly logical to us, because when we are in a negative state of being, we are essentially magnets for bad decisions through the Law of Attraction.

So the next time you are sad or angry and feel compelled to do something about it (like confront your coworker, talk about your friends or call your ex) remember that from a lowered vibrational state, you really can’t trust your intuition to take you anywhere you want to be.

The Law of Attraction always encourages thoughts and ideas that keep you where you are, so make sure to check your feelings before taking action. If you’re feeling badly, it’s probably best to ignore your impulses.

Wait to take action until your feeling a little better.  Take a few steps to raise your vibration, and delay any decision making in the moment. When you feel good and have a high vibration, you can fully trust your intuition to guide you to a better place.  Let the “good feeling you” be the one to decide your best course of action.

Happy Manifesting! XO, Andrea

I’d say that is not your Intuition that is so-called giving you bad advice when you are in a negative state of mind, feeling, being, etc. I’d say that’s ego and is the loudest voice we hear when in lower vibrational states. Remember, the ego is a trickster and will do whatever it takes to avoid change. It will convince you that you are growing and changing when you are not. It distracts and the lower your vibration the easier it can do so. Your Intuition, however, being your Higher Self which is also your Spirit, only knows Truth because it is your direct link to Source Creation, God, whatever it may be called. That voice is what finally pulls us back up into higher states of consciousness, and the more you do listen to it, the more you will come to know not only about yourself but your place in the world at this time. I would never advise someone to not listen to the Intuitive callings as these are Divine gifts the most personal, loving guidance we have available to us. What Intuition is and the purpose it serves does not change merely because we do. It is what it is regardless of our moods, level of awareness, etc. <3

Yes because after ignoring it every time it only took care of problems so i do listen it gives more peace, and even when upset or so, i know when to act and react to it, its al About balance and knowing yourself when you can and when not to act and react even when mad or distracted.

There’s a difference between impulse and intuition.

When you’re in a low vibration your intuition is blocked so your chakras aren’t spinning properly. It is your pain body asking for more pain and dramatizing everything not your intuition. Your intuition deep down knows.

Impulse originates from mental, psychological, or physiological attachment and/or imbalance. Intuition is an expression of the voiceless voice of our deepest silence. To confuse the two, whilst incorporating the egotistical endeavor of attracting what one desires, reveals a lack of depth and understanding of consciousness and the phenomenon of attraction.

What’s described here is not intuition…it’s ego based emotional reaction. Huge difference.

I, too, believe that the author of this article is confused about human intuition and how it works. A healthy intuitive ability will help guide you out of negative situations and help prevent reactive behavior.

However, several of the respondents to the article are clearly confused about the ego. The ego is not some kind of evil twin that must be bound and gagged. It is the source of our self-awareness. Every time we make a decision, we utilize the ego. Our personal boundaries and how they are maintained is a function of the ego. The ego is the gateway to our self-understanding –to discovering all the wondrous things each of us contain and all the things within ourselves that we need to confront, work through, and release. A healthy, effective intuitive ability cannot grow and develop without self-trust. Self-trust can only be developed through the effective use of the ego.

I hope the author of this article takes the necessary time to examine her thoughts and beliefs about intuition. And I hope that those who are so clearly confused about the ego make the effort to discover what it really is and how to use it effectively, and that in so doing they are utilizing their ego.
