Vedic Astrology Report for November 2019: Optimism and Hope

vedic astrology May 2015

November brings a major shift as Jupiter moves to its own sign of Sagittarius, generating more optimism and hope. Mercury is retrograde for three weeks this month, motivating us to review plans and research new ideas. Jupiter and Venus travel through the gandanta degrees this month, indication an opportunity to release patterns of the past. Mars and Venus exchange signs for ten days this month, as we learn to balance and honor our relationships.

Mercury turned retrograde at 3 degrees Scorpio on October 31 and will stay retrograde until November 20, 2019.  Mercury will first be retrograde in Scorpio until November 7, and then moves back to the sign of Libra for the rest of the retrograde period. Mercury retrograde is a time to be more observant and clear with all types of communications, contracts, and business dealings. Also remember to backup your technical devices and check on your computers and electronics. This is a good time to review projects and even connect with people from the past. Inner reflection, meditation, and contemplation are positive expressions.

The major astrological event this month occurs when the great benefic planet, Jupiter, changes signs, moving to its own sign of Sagittarius from November 4, 2019 to March 30, 2020. Then Jupiter dips briefly into the earth sign of Capricorn for three months, from March 31 to June 29, 2020. Finally from June 29 to November 20, 2020 Jupiter completes its transit through Sagittarius.

As Jupiter begins its shift, from October 31 to November 10, 2019, it will transit through the challenging gandanta degrees of 29 degrees Scorpio to 0 degrees of Sagittarius, when more intense and unpredictable energies may surface around Jupiter significations.  Issues may surface around legal or political matters, finances and our value system, or even a refocusing of our spiritual beliefs.

This transit of Jupiter through gandanta degrees can bring us deeper soul growth, as we release old, ancient wounds and habitual patterns from the past. If we can move through with grace and non-resistance, there is potential for healing and increased awareness.

When Jupiter enters its own sign of Sagittarius this month, it will join the malefic planets, Saturn and Ketu, who have been together in Sagittarius since March 2019. Jupiter can help to soften the challenging Saturn-Ketu effect and may help in understanding and stabilization of these demanding energies.

Jupiter is generally happy transiting its own sign of Sagittarius, and becomes more philosophical and optimistic. We start searching for greater meaning and truth in life. Education, teaching, and intellectual development make be a focus for some. Jupiter in Sagittarius is also charitable, giving, and inspirational. We desire to transform beliefs that separate or polarize. The sign of Sagittarius loves truth and freedom, and we embrace a universal perspective that uplifts all of humanity. The shadow of Jupiter in Sagittarius is being too dogmatic or opinionated.

For those with Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini, or Virgo ascendants, Jupiter will be transiting an angle house in its own sign in your charts, creating a Hamsa Yoga which is very favorable and auspicious for you, amplifying the higher energies and expansiveness of Jupiter.

Mars, planet of action and assertiveness, moves into the Venus-ruled sign of Libra on November 10, 2019 until December 25, 2019. Venus is currently transiting the Mars-ruled sign of Scorpio since October 28 and will stay there until November 20, 2019. So from November 10 to November 20, Mars and Venus exchange signs forming a parivartana yoga, which ties these two planetary energies together. Mars and Venus can bring great passion and creativity, but can also indicate agitation, heated exchanges, and arguments.  Use this time to practice greater co-operation in solving problems and encouraging the best in others.

Venus will also be gandanta at 29 Scorpio to 0 degrees Sagittarius, on November 20 and 21, indicating some deep transformation can occur in love matters and relationships, as we end old patterns or beliefs. This is a time to practice self-love, kindness, and compassion for all.
