Vedic Astrology for June 2019: Access Deeper Truths and Peace That Resides Within

vedic astrology May 2015

In June the transit of forceful Mars with Rahu in the sign of Gemini generates more intensity as it exactly opposes Saturn and Ketu in Sagittarius. This planetary configuration involving Mars, Rahu, Saturn, and Ketu is center stage this month and can create conflict and a greater sense of uncertainty and imbalance. These amplified energies give us an opportunity to access the deeper truths and peace that resides within each of us. Mercury, planet of communications, transits its own sign of Gemini for over two weeks in June, adding another element to the Mars/Rahu conjunction. Venus transits its own sign of Taurus most of June while opposing benefic Jupiter, which is a helpful and encouraging energy.  And at the end of June, Mars begins its journey through its debilitated sign of Cancer, indicating a time for greater sensitivity and restraint.

Mercury transits its own sign of Gemini from June 1 to June 20, 2019, where it joins malefic Mars and Rahu already there. Normally this would be a very positive transit for Mercury, traveling through its own sign. But Mercury is a chameleon planet, which acts like planets it’s with, so the powerful Mars and Rahu influence on Mercury can indicate divisive communications and angry words.  Issues can also surface involving travel plans, so be precise and double-check schedules.

This period, from June 1 to 20, is a time to be extra clear and up front with your exchanges with others and with any business dealings. Words will be extra potent at this time – so be discerning and let your speech be calming and heartfelt. We may find we are more stimulated mentally, feeling more anxious and distrustful. Stay balanced and do practices that calm the mind and bring you back to your heart center. Focus on positive and uplifting thoughts and get creative. Sattwic (pure) activities are always remedies when we feel challenged, and examples are meditation, yoga, pranayama, retreat, and a clean diet.

Venus, planet of love and relationship, transits its own sign of Taurus from June 4 to June 28, 2019, which increases the need for stability in love and greater social contact. We desire deeper and more authentic connections with our family and friends. This is a wonderful time to let nature be your healer, and spend more time outdoors in a beautiful and natural setting. During the time Venus transits Taurus it will oppose benefic Jupiter in Scorpio, which adds much needed supportive energies this month.

We begin to experience heightened intensity especially the period of June 8 to 17, 2019 as Mars/Rahu in Gemini will oppose Saturn/Ketu in Sagittarius very tightly with many conjunctions. Mars conjuncts Rahu on June 12 exactly at 23 degrees Gemini, then Mars will oppose Saturn at 24 degrees on June 13. Mercury conjuncts Rahu on June 15 at 23 degrees Gemini, and then just a few days later, Mars conjuncts Mercury on June 17 at 26 degrees Gemini. These aspects can create a fast-paced, explosive, and confrontational energetic so be extra mindful, aware, and try not to over-react.

In June, we move forward, only to feel restrictions or delays a few days later. We may resist moving ahead but we have to make needed changes to evolve. We can redirect and refine these energies to something more positive. We are going through a deep learning process and need to be more conscious.  Moving through old habits or self-imposed restrictions can make us feel exhausted, but we have to open to a more balanced and equitable space to heal.  We begin to understand the value of being patient, persistent, and taking responsibility for our actions. Quiet, introspective, and peaceful activities are recommended. Don’t be hard on yourself or others this month, and practice kindness and forgiveness.

At the end of June, Mars transits Cancer, its sign of debility from June 23, 2019 to August 9, 2019. Greater emotional sensitivity and attachment can occur, so take care with your responses to others and have good boundaries. At times we want to avoid direct confrontations, but later become defensive, frustrated, and argumentative. Our energies can be inconsistent, or we hesitate to act or resist change. Others may exhibit more passive-aggressive tendencies. Old emotional wounds, especially those that center around family relationships, surface to be healed.

On the positive side, when Mars transits the feminine water sign of Cancer we sometimes want less aggressiveness, as we appreciate the power and effectiveness of proper mediation without physical conflict. We feel more motivated to help families and loved ones, and we can be good advocates for those in need. This is a good period to be charitable, donating your time to worthy causes.
