The first part of July brings many planets transiting their own signs, powerful placements. Mars is conjunct Rahu, the north node, which amplifies assertive energies this month.  A major shift occurs mid-month when retrograde Saturn changes signs and transits back to Capricorn. Benefic Jupiter goes retrograde at the end of July.

From late on July 1 until July 12, 2022 there are five planets transiting their own signs, which is somewhat unusual. Saturn transits Aquarius, Jupiter is in Pisces, Mars is in Aries, Venus is in Taurus, and Mercury is in Gemini. When planets are traveling through their own signs they are more comfortable and express more of their true nature in general.

Mars transits its own sign of Aries from June 26 to the morning of August 10, 2022. Mars conjuncts Rahu the north node during this period, and the exact conjunction occurs at 24 degrees Aries from July 31 until August 2, 2022. Mars is quite powerful in its own sign of Aries, and we are more adventurous, independent and enthusiastic. But as Mars and Rahu move closer together, we can experience an acceleration of impatience, anger, agitation, and aggression in our world. The Rahu aspect on Mars intensifies desire, ambition, as well as the need to dominate or provoke. So channel these challenging energies into creative, peaceful actions and inspirational goals. Calming and centering modalities like meditation, yoga, and body work are good remedies.

Saturn, planet of responsibility, truth, and restriction, retrogrades back into its own sign of Capricorn on July 12, 2022, having briefly traveled through Aquarius for 2 ½ months, from April 29 until July 12. Saturn will remain in Capricorn until January 17, 2023, and will be retrograde until October 22, 2022. When Saturn is retrograde its influence may be more prominent. This is a time to slow down and review your personal responsibilities and decide if any changes need to be made. Are you taking full responsibility for your life? If you need to restructure or reorganize your life in a more authentic way, then this is a good time to do so.

Saturn retrograde and transiting the sign of Capricorn gives strong determination and sometimes a rigid adherence to tradition, which can create greater restrictions and burdens. Things are not moving forward and as quickly as we would like. Saturn delays or slow things down so we can see what is present and true, and then make better, life-affirming choices. As Saturn is the lord of karma, we are also dealing with the consequences of previous actions now and we may be held accountable with Saturn retrograde. This is a time of developing greater endurance, patience, and neutrality, and it’s good to focus on long-term positive goals.

Jupiter, the great benefic, has been transiting Pisces, a sign it rules, since April 14, 2022. Jupiter will now go retrograde on July 28, 2022 at 14 degrees Pisces until November 23, 2022.  Jupiter is the planet of spirituality and prosperity, and when retrograde our abundance is experienced more internally, rather than on a material or outer level. This can be a time we reap the benefits from deep, introspective work and finding our authentic truth. We find that creating peace of mind, being in our heart center, and actively being helpful and of service to those around us is of great value, and needed more than ever in our world.
