At the beginning of the month, on November 2, 2015, Venus and Mars (a passionate and creative combination) move closely together as they begin their transit through the sign of Virgo on the evening of November 2, 2015, where they will conjunct at exactly zero degrees of Virgo.

In addition, Venus and Mars will join stimulating Rahu (north node of the Moon) already in Virgo, and these three planets together can bring increased intensity and amplification of our desires, from November 2 until November 30. Practicing neutrality and compassion is quite helpful.

First Venus shifts into Virgo, its sign of debility on November 2 until November 30. With Venus, the planet of love, relationship, and healing in Virgo, we enjoy being of service to others. There is more interested in natural, alternative healing techniques and focus on honoring nature and the planet. On the shadow-side, we can be more critical of our relationships and love, as we want perfection! With Venus in Virgo we are learning to take a less mental approach to love, focusing more on the needs of our own heart.

Also from November 2 through November 16, Venus and Mercury exchange signs (called a parivartana yoga), which unites and strengthens these two planetary energies – helping us to be more creative and verbally compassionate and supportive of others.

Then later on November 2, Mars moves into Virgo, and along with Venus (until November 30), brings a “passionate and sensual wiring” in the earthy sign of Virgo, where we want certainty, loyalty, and tangible results in love and relationship. Heated and passionate discussions, along with agitation can result when Venus, Mars, and Rahu are together. Why not use this energy more constructively, with openness and patience with others, giving greater insight into our motivations.

Mars, planet of action, remains in orderly and mental Virgo until December 24, and gives a certain refinement and discernment to its energetic expression. Intellectually you are very stimulated. You are driven to attain high standards, bringing worry and frustration if not manifesting your desires in a timely fashion as you want results quickly and perfectly. It is best to do things at a slower or even pace, and to think of your effect upon others in your environment as well.

Beginning the evening of November 6 and through the weekend of November 7 and 8, the Moon moves into Virgo, joining the trio of Venus, Mars, and Rahu, bringing heightened, sensitive emotions and possible mental agitations  – so it’s your choice whether to channel these amplified energies in  creative, constructive ways or not.

Also during this time, Venus will conjunct Rahu (north node) exactly at 6 degrees Virgo on November 8. Venus with Rahu can increase one’s artistic focus and deep need for self-expression, sometimes expressed through extraordinary creativity.

On the other hand, the Rahu influence can bring karmic issues to the surface in relationships that must be addressed, usually stemming from miscommunication, the excessive need for excitement, or deep attachment. This is a time to let go of the drama, give others space if needed, and be calm, peaceful, and focus on the heart.

Later on November 11 and 12, Mars will exactly conjunct Rahu at 5 degrees Virgo, bringing lots of energy to the surface. Mars and Rahu together can be quite ambitious, powerful, and in charge, as we are really testing ourselves at this time. The best outlet for this potent combination is to express this power generated into truly uplifting and altruistic endeavors, courageously aligning to the highest good for all concerned. Think before you act. Otherwise, the result can be conflict, frustration, and lack of trust. This is a time to learn the power of neutrality and non-reactiveness. Yoga, pranayama, and meditation are great remedies.

On November 16 both the Sun and Mercury move together into the sign of Scorpio where they will join the planet Saturn. The Sun stays in Scorpio until December 16, while Mercury remains in Scorpio until December 6.  During part of this time (from November 11 to 26), Mercury is combust the Sun (using a 4 degree orb), meaning some of Mercury’s energies are consumed by the Sun, and so Mercury significations become somewhat weakened. Mercury is exactly combust the Sun at 1 and 2 degrees of Scorpio on November 17 and 18. Mercury, a mental and intellectual planet, rules all types of communications, computers, and travel, so it’s best to be clear, concise, and observant.

The Sun travels through Scorpio for four weeks (from November 16 to December 16) where it will be with serious Saturn. This combination increases our desire for truth and order in the world. We can witness increased imbalances and struggles with authority figures or with government leaders. We face the dilemma of determining our duty in life, along with what society demand of us – versus our individual expression and getting personal needs met. We may feel some restrictions, but they occur only to give us a reality check so we can make better choices. With these two planets in Scorpio, we are forced to really confront the deeper realities in our life and understand our true responsibilities in the world. With a wider perspective we can work to transform ourselves into more profound, honest, productive, and ethical beings.

Remember Vedic astrology, the astrology from India, uses the sidereal zodiac, the zodiac of the fixed stars, which is based on a more accurate astronomical view of the planets in the sky.
