Saturn, planet of focus, discipline and truth, goes direct on August 2, 2015, having been retrograde since March 14, 2015. Since March, when Saturn was retrograde in Scorpio, you were guided to face deep-seated truths that have been hidden or that you didn’t want to confront. Now with Saturn moving direct you can use this momentum to make any needed changes or revision of goals with increased inner strength, honesty, and self-responsibility. Be respectful, mindful, and clear.

Mars, the planet of energy and action, now transits Cancer, its sign of debility, the entire month of August. This began July 30, 2015 and lasts until September 15, 2015. On the positive, this transit can increase our capacity to protect and help our families and loved ones. Cancer is a sensitive water sign, so deep feelings about home, family, and security may surface. We may feel extra emotional sensitivity and attachment, so take care in responding to others, and watch for any passive-aggressive tendencies.

A challenge with Mars in Cancer can bring about the necessity of strong motivation to act, resistance to change, or acting out of phase. Also, issues revolving around selfishness, anger, and frustration may surface. This is a time to be mindful, becoming more aware of how our actions affect others.  Healing old emotional wounds is possible with the right attitude. Practicing yoga, having body work or massages, or work with any therapeutic techniques that help balance the emotions are helpful for Mars in Cancer.

Venus, planet of relationships, love, and finance, is still retrograde the entire month of August until September 6, 2015 (having begun retrograde motion the end of last month on July 25, 2015).  A retrograde planet’s energies are more internal, subjective and possibly past-related, so we have an opening to make greater spiritual progress as we complete “unfinished” business concerning integrity in relationships, development of good boundaries, and re-defining emotional happiness.

Areas where we felt a lack of emotional fulfillment can surface to heal. Ultimately, we are learning to value, respect and heal ourselves, which will then reflect outwardly in our world and in future relationships.

Venus will conjunct Jupiter on August 3-5, 2015, at 4 degrees in the sign of Leo. The conjunction of these two teacher planets is called dwi-guru yoga. (Jupiter is the teacher of the gods, and Venus is the teacher of the demons.) This combination may present us with an opportunity to learn and gain understandings from two different perspectives or levels of awareness.

Then mid-month, on August 13, Venus will retrograde out of Leo, moving back into Cancer until September 30, 2015, separating from Jupiter. Later, retrograde Venus will conjunct the Sun exactly on August 15 at 28 degrees of Cancer. The Sun so close to Venus may temporarily create feelings of being less valued or appreciated, bringing more hyper-sensitivity with love, so good to do self-care and honor yourself!

The Sun moves into its own sign of Leo on August 17 through September 16, 2015. The Sun in Leo can increase personal ambitions, focusing on courage, leadership, and advocacy, but watch for stubbornness and dominating tendencies. The Sun, now traveling with Jupiter in Leo and aspected by Saturn, creates a desire for self-expression and expansion, but with practicality, restraint, and realistic boundaries.

Note: Vedic astrology, the astrology from India, uses the sidereal zodiac, the zodiac of the fixed stars, which is based on a more accurate astronomical view of the planets in the sky.
