1. Significantly reduce your expectations, so when good things happen, you’ll be pleasantly surprised and very grateful.

2. Don’t complain about how annoying others are. They don’t mean to be. They are really just anxious or sad.

3. Keep your mortality in mind (you probably only have about 400,000 hours left).

4. Laugh at yourself.

5. Schedule regular talk with someone you don’t spend enough time with and discuss the important things.

6. Stop trying to make yourself happy. It’s impossible to do directly. Just focus more on others, and it comes.

7. Look at yourself from a higher, satellite view and you’ll get a better perspective on what matters – and what doesn’t.

8. Throw your cell phone off a cliff (at least for a while, metaphorically), so you can notice things like your loved ones.

9. Stop trying to be normal. We’re all weird and that’s totally okay.
